The hotel exceeded my expectations for the price. We got the room with the balcony. It felt very spacious and it was nice to have a small desk in the room. I don’t normally use balconies at hotels and mainly chose this room for a bigger space. But the balcony ended up being an unexpected delight and had a beautiful city view in the day and at dusk. The hotel is also very centrally located and made it easy to walk to all of our destinations. It’s also located next to a grocery store which was really useful. One of the best parts was the staff, they were so friendly and gave fantastic tips for navigating the city that Google Maps couldn’t help us with (they were noticeably much nicer and hospitable than the staff at other hotels we stayed at in Spain). I saw some complaints in other reviews about the hotel being dated which I was worried about but it personally never bothered me in my particular balcony room (maybe it’s more noticeable in other rooms?). I would be happy to come back next time I’m in Granada and felt it was good value.

Not a big deal to us overall, but it would’ve been nice to have a mini fridge to store a few snacks from the grocery store.

The hotel was easy to find, the staff were helpful, explained everything clearly, and the rooms were clean and comfortable. The hotel delivered everything it promised. I like the key card system: put the card in the slot by the door when you come in to turn on the electricity. This also means you don't have to search for your key when you leave. All hotels should do this! There was someone available on the desk every time I came in or went out. Good to know there is someone to sort out issues, if necessary. (I had no issues.)

As in all places (except one) that I have stayed in in Spain, the walls are paper thin. Fortunately, my neighbours have always been aware of this, and have been quiet. So, for any light sleepers, when traveling in Spain, bring ear plugs, just in case.

The hotel is on the edge of the city center pretty close to the "tapas street" Calle Navas with dozens of restaurants for every taste. Some restaurants sprayed cold water - like a nebula - to make the heat bearable. The heat is very dry, so I had really no problem with that. Humid heat is way more terrible. There is a Carrefour supermarket in the building, everything within walking distance. The staff was super nice and especially the Cuban guy who was really helpful with information. I also could store my luggage after check-out. 12 am is check-out, in my experience a pretty late time for it, so there was really no haste. I don't like to get up early so I always missed the optional breakfast buffet (EUR 6,00).

Honestly, there is nothing to complain about. The hotel might seem a little strange, because it just occupies the 4th floor of the huge building. You might think that the whole building was a Grand Hotel once but had to cut costs and therefore rented the other floors to businesses and people. But that is not the case, like they told me.

For the price, this was an exceptional hotel. We had a huge twin room with a lovely view from the balcony. The beds and pillows were very comfortable. Everything was spotlessly clean. The bathroom had a huge shower with excellent water pressure. The location was perfect - walking distance to all sites and transport routes. There is a supermarket next door, which was very convenient. The female staff member at the reception was really friendly and helpful. I’d definitely return again. I don’t understand why it is rated as a 1-star hotel.

The breakfast could do with more variety but not a huge negative as the price was so cheap. Thicker duvets and extra blankets would be great too.

Very clean room, very very friendly personnel, nice shower cabin and the bathroom in general. We also liked the hotel interior. We have got the baby bed as requested.

The room was too small for two adults and a baby with the baby bed in the room. We also had the window facing the inner yard, this was not OK during the night because of the noise of all the aircos of other rooms hanging on the same side of the wall of the hotel. Breakfast was very modest, but it was expected for this price. What we really didn’t like was the fake coffee from the coffee machine which was terrible. Parking was not free and was a disaster to get in or out, but this is the old town, so be prepared!

I didn't eat breakfast at the hotel although it was on offer at a reasonable price. The location was excellent. It was close to the little hop-on, hop-off train and the bus to take you up to the Alhambra and elsewhere. There were some good restaurants and cafes nearby. My room was excellent. It was refurbished tastefully and the air-conditioning was a treat. It's far better than its star rating. There was a Carrefour shop next door for.any items that you might be running low on.

Noise. People walking down the hallway could be heard going to their rooms. This only occurred a couple of times at night and quite early, so it did not disturb sleep.

The location. The staff is very helpful and kind. The view from the breakfast terrace. The breakfast. The bathroom has spa shower which was great after a long walk.

The light was in fact 3 nightstand lamps - I had never seen a room without a normal ceiling lamp. The room was unpleasantly dark. Our room was too small for 2 people (I had stayed alone in a single room in the same hotel before and it was significantly larger). There was nothing to put our things while in the shower.

The staff were very friendly and helpful. It was quiet at night. The beds were comfortable, and the shower was nice (like being in a spa). The location was only 50m from many great restaurants. The continental breakfast was good, with a nice coffee machine.

This isn't related to the hotel itself. The hotel provided great directions for driving, but Google GPS didn't want to follow the route due to the traffic restrictions, even though I was authorized to drive in Granada as a hotel guest. This would be difficult for any hotel. I suggest studying the map before you leave, so that it's easier to follow the proper directions.

Outside our window we had a beautiful view of the trees shading the plaza below. Looking out to our right, we could clearly see the dog weathervane atop the nearby church. The rooms are painted in bright, cheerful colors & decorated with unique art. The beds are comfy and the bathrooms clean. Just what we needed in a very convenient location. There are several tapas bar / cafés and restaurants just outside the door and down the nearby streets. It was nice that the staff connected with us via WhatsApp to communicate prior to our arrival. They were efficient, friendly and very helpful in handling reservation adjustments, checking us in / out, and answering all of our questions. Coro provided several restaurant suggestions and bus route information (Highlighting a map for us to refer to). There is a bus stop really close, so you can ride it up to Alhambra if you plan on visiting that amazing site. Hotel Carlos V is able to store your luggage if your checking in or out does not align with your travel plans. Also, the hotel is located near a police station so it added a feeling of more security, not that it was needed.

We were not aware that there was a spot to "park" your vehicle while you went to check into your room. From the website it seemed as if the hotel parking was on site, it's actually about 2 minutes away. We ended up in the public parking very close because we couldn't check-in without first parking our car somewhere. It would have saved us a lot of stress and an hour of trying to maneuver down the narrow streets had we just been given the hotel parking lot address once our reservation was made.

Our room was spacious and clean. Unfortunately no mini-fridge. The window overlooked a quiet side street. Breakfast was mediocre but you could eat on a balcony (along with the smokers.) It's on the 4th floor of a grand old building that now seems to house lawyers' offices, so you sometimes have to use your keycard to gain entry. If you want coffee during non-breakfast hours, you need a euro coin to insert in the machine. Very close to a pedestrian lane with several good restaurants.
