Everything was just perfect! We stayed for three nights after we initially only booked one night, because we liked it so much. The atmosphere was great, with a huge common area (plenty of tables, sitting areas, balconies, all with thousands of lo ely plants). The host speaks very good English and helped us a lot. Rooms are super clean and large, very comfortable). Free water and coffee, plus kitchen area. All topped by an amazing view of the volcano. Also location was super good, lots of restaurants (amazing vegetarian philipino restaurant (Lakshmi food house) just 5-10min walk, a supermarket plus market nearby, you couldn't want for more.

Nothing, everything perfect

The location is well-situated a few minutes walk from a main street with a supermarket and restaurants. The guesthouse is lovely with lots of plants and open spaces with a view of Mt. Mayon. Staff is extremely accommodating (and arranged an ATV tour for us, made some excellent sightseeing suggestions for the limited time we had in the city, and also arranged our airport transfer); we had the pleasure of meeting the owner who was so nice and welcoming. An optional traditional Filipino breakfast (we had the homemade tocino) is served at your preferred time. Dine at Small Talk Cafe, just a 10-minute walk from the guesthouse, as it is excellent!

Great budget option. Big clean rooms, great shared social spaces, very short walk to town for restos.

Would be nice if they could provide breakfast option. The Breakfast Republik, 10 mins walk away, like 99% of Philippino restos, sells stodge. Be nice to have some plain eggs, salad, fruit options in the guesthouse.

Fantastic hideaway to just chill and relax with very comfortable room with aircon and Netflix…simple kitchen was handy, and free tea/coffee was great. It is also close to supermarket and bakery.

It was difficult to locate staff at times to ask questions about transport and activities in Legazpi. We’re English speaking foreigners so imagine this would not be a problem for Filipinos.

The place has a homey vibe with very relaxing combination of lights and furniture. The linens and beddings were very clean and smells really good. The pillows were comfy and not too soft. The blankets were comfortable. The corners of every part of the house was really clean. No dark marks in the bathroom. Hot and cold, netflix and internet were all working. There are areas where you can sit and read a book aside from your room. There were common areas for coffee or tea. Everything was just relaxing, beautiful and perfect.

the whole Legazpi City was just full of trash dumped anywhere. 😔😔😔😔 I hope the LGU can work on this. It’s sad that as the city progresses, the thrash piles up without proper disposal

I like the location of this guesthouse since it is located within the city of Legazpi. And also, the fact that it feels like home.

The place is very relaxing and comfortable. The staff and owner are very accommodating. If you are lucky enough, there is a view of Mayon from the hotel.

Location was hard to find. Driver had to call hotel twice for directions and still use Google maps

I’ve literally travelled around the world and this is one of the very best accommodations that I’ve ever booked. It’s such a unique and beautiful guesthouse and you really can’t beat the views from the terrace! The room and bed was extremely comfortable and they’ve thought of everything that you could possibly need for the duration of your trip. It felt like being at home! The owners and people who work there were incredibly welcoming and friendly too. I also really appreciated the free water and coffee which kept me going when waking up early each morning to view Mayon! Thank you all for an unforgettable stay :)

Very homey, we are tired from trips but the accomodation is very welcoming and we feels like home that we have a good rest..the ambiance is quite and with beautiful blooms of flowers in the terrace, lots of plants around...with ample parking slots for guest with vehicle..with free hot and cold water to drink in the lounge area..allowed to order grab delivery but we are not able to eat there since our schedule is roll at dusk then go back after lunch and recharge then at 5 pm we are on the roll again returning after dinner outside. The accomodation have more lounge area in any floor, there are lots of board games to enjoy...but we'd rather watch Netflix😆..Mother has no problem getting up and down the stairs...our unit has a separate backdoor entryway to the lower dining area..really we enjoyed our short 4 days 3 night stay at Balai Tinay Guesthouse..the staff are polite and helpfull.

The towels and beddings have strong scent of fabcon...im allergic to it..and I smell a bit of rust in the running water especially in first opening but as the water flows the smell disappear...the fridge in our room does not function..over all we enjoyed our stay at Balai Tinay Guesthouse
