The overall value for the Monday and feel was great. Beds were comfortable, staff was amazing, AC and hot water worked well.

The biggest and it was unfortunately a large problem, was being that we entered a credit card to hold the rooms on a such a large international website, the expectation was set that the credit card would be charged to pay for the rooms. The other hotel we got on another island did just fine. Unfortunately $500 in cash was not at all easy to come on the spot up with having to pay for food, souvenirs with cash we brought and draining bank accounts to be there. ATMs on the islands will only let you have $200 with a service charge per day so it was just a huge hassle and inconvenience and cost an extra $15 in fees. They need to advertise openly they don’t charge your credit card and to organize to pay in cash.

Casa de Nelly was a very pleasant surprise! Friends told me that the San Cristobal hotels are not the type I would normally stay in, so I wasn’t sure what to expect. Well, Casa de Nelly was perfect! It’s clean, spacious, had a fabulous terrace with a sunset view, and the location is perfect. There is a kitchen. You can use to cook in and you can store food in their refrigerator. It’s close to everything including restaurants, shopping, dive shops, and beautiful Playa Mann which is a white sand beach. Roberto picked us up at the airport and gave us a tour of the area including places to eat and things to do. Gabby is delightful, attentive, efficient, knowledgeable and will help with whatever you need. We’d definitely stay here again! Keep in mind a lot of places including the hotel do not take credit cards in San Cristobal so bring plenty of cash! Also be prepared to pay between $100-200 per person at the airport for environmental care (or something like that!)plus $20 for a tourist VISA.

I can’t recommend this hotel enough. We stayed 6 nights. Gaby, who runs it helped us book tours and all our ferries (ahead of time) and helped us with everything we asked for - she’s a legend and so welcoming. It was clean, has great sea breezes and views, the wifi was excellent, and they provide tea/coffee/filtered water. Great value for money. The location was good too because you’re a 5 min walk from the centre but not in the hustle and bustle.

Casa de Nelly is a very comfortable guesthouse, conveniently located on the north end of Puerto Baquerizo Moreno. It's an easy walk south along the waterfront to the downtown harbor area or north to beaches such as Playa Mann and Playa Punta Carola. The Interpretation Center and its lovely trails are also nearby. Casa de Nelly has a small shared kitchen guests can use and a breezy garden with plenty of seating and hammocks. The staff is very welcoming and helpful.

Excellent location, clean & bright rooms. We walked out along the malecon to get everywhere in town and would stop by a bakery nearby as well, forcing us to pass all of the sea lions laying out on the beach (aka the reason why we visited Galapagos).

Our shower pipe burst while turning it on, after it was fixed the first time, the 2nd shower we took, the pipe burst again. We had to hold the faucet in for several (~10-15 minutes) to not flood the bathroom twice while the other person ran down to get help. Ideally the first fix would have solved it.

Ivan, Soledad and all others try very hard to make your visit in the hotel unforgettable! Ivan answers every mail carefully and quickly, reserves ferry tickets for you or tours on the island. Pick up from the airport, drive to La Loberia or the ferry is free. Wonderful service! My room was spacious, with a big beautiful terrace with sea view, fridge and hot shower. Soledad cares for everything! Drinking water is free. 5 minutes walking to playa Mann, where the sealions are waiting and swimming is gorgeous. 5 minutes more to the entrance of the NP. Perfect place for perfect holidays! Best hotel on the Galapagos! Soledad, you are right, San Cristóbal is the nicest island! Thanks! Thanks Ivan! I will come back!

The staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful - especially Evan who went out of his way to make sure everything was good. Breakfast was very nice and slightly different every day. The hotel was only a short walk from the seafront where you could see lots of wildlife. The room was very clean and we had paid extra for a room on the roof terrace which meant we had a view over the town to the sea.

The building site right next to the hotel was incredibly noisy. Some days it was worse than other days. They started early around 6 and didn't finish until 6 in the evening. The day they were cutting huge strips of metal with a massive electric saw the noise was excruciating - so much so that I had to shout when trying to talk to staff about it!

Loved my stay at Casa de Nelly. I stayed a total of 6 nights here—3 nights in a single room on a lower level with a city view (could've slept 2 in a big double bed) and 3 nights in a room on the upper floor with a big balcony outside my door w/ excellent views of the bay from both the balcony and from inside my room (I booked a single, but the room could've slept 3 w/ a giant king-sized bed + a twin bed AND a small refrigerator—not sure if that's always the case when booking a single room). Both rooms were very clean and good-sized with ample shelving and hangers, and they each had a table with a stool. A nice, unexpected feature was a spray nozzle by the shower for washing sand off your feet & shoes—there's also one on the grounds so you can do it before you even get to your room. I'd stay in either room again. The property has a charming little courtyard area with hammocks and natural wood tables, chairs & benches. I'd have loved more time to simply hang out there. The location is fantastic—close to the end of the malecon and Playa Mann. Many mini-markets & lavenderias and other conveniences very close. A wonderful tour company (Islanders Galapagos a/k/a Islanders Store & Galapagos Yacht Day Tours—owners of the Valeria Yacht) is only half a block away. Casa de Nelly is a family-owned hotel, and the two brothers who manage it are very friendly & helpful. Three times they called taxis for me, and upon my arrival in the Galapagos, one of them even picked me up at the airport himself. You can have breakfast at the hotel ($7 at the time of my stay), and it features fresh fruits, etc. from the family's farm! I had the breakfast one morning, and it was delicious & filling. Free filtered water for refilling your water bottle as often as you need to. During my stay, a huge bunch of bananas from the family farm hung in the courtyard, and guests were welcome to snap one off whenever. They were SO good!

By far do splurge to a deluxe room on the top floor, with a huge terrace and magnificent views to the sunset (not ALL rooms have the same views though, so ask for the corner one if available). The rooms are quite big and can nicely fit the 3 people most of them are arranged for. A very short stroll to town but far enough to be quiet.

Be warned the amazing breakfast many people rave about is, in general, not served any longer (as the lady who made them isn't available). This place is frequented by tour groups and, when those are around you might get the chance to piggyback on their breakfast service which was indeed quite good. For tours and such, you're better off heading to town and comparing with several agencies; all of them are essentially brokers to the boat owners so the prices can vary widely (and you won't get the best one at the hotel).

The location of this hotel is excellent, close to the main shops but also very close to the beaches and nearby attractions, walking distance (Playa Mann, Interpretation Center, Point Carola Beach and Muelle Tijeretas). They prepare the breakfast for you (eggs, fruits, etc.), it's not buffet style. Great hammocks to relax in the hotel garden.

Internet reception could be a bit better. I found it a bit choppy and slow. Staff are very friendly and nice but their English is limited.
