Perfect location, spacious room, great view onto the river, genuinely friendly staff.

The breakfast menu was fine. However a decaf coffee option, as well as non-dairy alternatives other than soy milk(😖!), such as oat milk, should be available, as it is everywhere else . Lastly, I observed the very friendly breakfast chef thoughtfully, but most inappropriately, replenishing the berry fruit bowl with unwashed berries.. which is unacceptable! I was tempted to say something, but did not want to embarrass him, as he meant well and so I thought best to include it here in my comments…

I've stayed here numerous times and have never gone for breakfast. However, this time, while back taking care of my Mom in palliative care; round the clock care; I was physically, emotionally and spiritually exhausted. Missing dinner, I went down for breakfast and it was beyond delightful. A homemade omelet, fresh fruit, bacon, muffins and exquisite coffee which they graciously covered in a silver dome and allowed me to take it back to my room. Filled up my soul cup eating this splendid meal while overlooking the Saskatchewan River watching the pelican's soar and the sun shine. Brought me comfort beyond words. The beds and pillows are delightful too! I need to get me one. :) Thank You to the L Family who have owned this special place for centuries. Aunt P was a delight. (This is a side note).

The breakfast offered was excellent. A mixture of buffet sides with made to order eggs and daily specials kept breakfast interesting and delicious. The staff throughout the hotel were also very kind and helpful. The location was perfect for our stay as it was close to restaurants and easily accessed by other areas of the city.

Great view of the South Saskatchewan River from our 10th floor King Suite. Spacious room and the separate living room, with access to the balcony was much appreciated and comforting, allowing one to just "chill". The Lavazzo in-room coffee machine made the best coffee we have ever had in a hotel room, combined with the breathtaking view of the river and the sunrise, helped to ease us into each day. Small number of suites per floor helping to create a quiet environment. Staff "jumped" to help whenever one arrived or left the lobby, and were prompt and efficient with check-in and check-out.

Overall this is a great place to stay. Staff where very friendly. The breakfast was great, hot egg bar was a treat. Rooms were clean and comfy. Location was also great for what we needed. Liked that there was such a late checkout.

When we checked in there was little communication about the complimentary breakfast, the timings. Additionally, no information about whether you could order room service from the Bistro downstairs. It was not until I asked that this information was given. However, this could have been because the hotel was quite busy.

From the front desk staff to the bellman to the breakfast staff! Everyone was so accommodating and the hotel is a lovely boutique hotel. It feels like you’re at home. Absolutely wish I would have found this place sooner. Btw breakfast is amazing and included with your room. The bed is dreamy too. Can’t wait to to go back to Saskatoon!

The menu could have been a bit more diverse and down pillows 😉. But I’m not complaining.

Everything! Especially the lounge and special Christmas drinks! The staff for giving me the recipe for my fave cocktail! The breakfast room staff—I love seeing them every time—they are so warm and kind! The front desk for greeting me upon each entrance and exit!

we paid for a room with breakfast included but had to leave early for the airport. Some hotels provide a breakfast bag for guests who leave too early to enjoy the included breakfast. That would have been very nice. Ina ll other respects the James Hotel was an excellent place to stay.

Good amount of seating in room, clean, good hotel location

The fridge is incredibly small and stocked with very expensive snacks and beverages. No way to really store any of your own food or leftovers

Sound travels from hallway into room. Would be great if they provided earplugs!
