A very nice little family run hotel. Very obliging hosts, the room was a good size for a Dutch town hotel, the beds were comfortable and it was in an almost idyllic location on the canal bank. They have their own private car park very near the hotel, a bonus in Hoorn.

It was a bit weird having to go out of the front door, and walk round the corner to a side entrance to reach our room which was disembodied from the reception/bar/cafe area. There was an extremely steep flight of stairs with narrow treads which was difficult for us old farts to negotiate with luggage.

The hotel was a mazing. I had never been to Horn before and the location of the hotel was superb. Right next to the canal and only a 5 min walk to the harbour where you can get nice food and drink. We were lucky enough to be able to pay for an upgrade to the family apartment which was perfect for us with two bedrooms, lounge kitchen and a small balcony that looks out over the canal. The owners were very friendly and accommodating and the breakfast had a wide variety of choices and was always very tasty.

This is a gem of a hotel in the beautiful medieval city of Hoorn. The staff are very friendly & the breakfast was excellent. Although a traditional building, the decor & fittings are modern & everywhere was exceptionally clean. We would highly recommend this hotel.

Our only slight criticism was the relatively small size of our room. Perfectly fine & cosy for our one night stay, but could be a bit confining for a longer stay.

Booked two rooms, both clean. Rooms were comfortable although a little dated. The rooms were through the main building, down steps, through a door and although one was on ground floor the other was up a steep flight of stairs. Staff were pleasant.

Steps as mentioned, not good for anyone with a disability. Breakfast was average at best and soon pillaged. No sign of any replenishment so looks like get there early. I thought the total account was expensive for what you received. I would be reluctant to stay in this hotel again.

The hotel is in a brilliant location, 5 minutes walk from the centre of Hoorn. It's super easy to reach from the train station (we easliy walked there in 15 minutes), really close to the beautiful harbour, waterfront walks and restaurants, but tucked away enough for a quiet night's sleep. The staff and owner were incredibly friendly and helpful, even offering us a lift back to the station. The family room was simple but comfortable and perfect for our needs, as was the breakfast. We would definitely choose to stay at Hotel de Magneet again next time we're in Hoorn.

Highly recommended! The hospitality of Rob and Karen from De Magneet Hotel is beyond any expectation. A great family hotel, with a warm environment, clean and quiet, nice breakfast and an intimate bar in the lobby. We stayed at the big family apartment which had plenty of room, a balcony with a peaceful view and was well-equipped. The hotel is situated in Hoorn, north of Holland, so we could explore the north easily - texel, Amsterdam, Alkmaar, Volendam - all about 30-40 minutes drive. Close to Lidl supermarket, 3 minutes drive. Great experience, one to remember:)

The owners were really hospitable, helpful, friendly - the best! They made our stay comfortable and convenient. It was clean and cosy. The location was perfect - very close to the centre but quiet and peaceful. Hoorn is a lovely town.

Loved our stay at Hotel de Magneet . Hoorn is a charming city and a very convenient location for exploring Old Holland, The Zuiderzee Museum and is also very close to Amsterdam by bus or train. The modern hotel is located a short walk to the bus and train station . The room was located in the garden and was quiet, clean and comfortable . The bathroom was very clean with a bath and all amenities. The included breakfast was extensive with both hot and cold options . It was served buffet style in a newly renovated and sunny restaurant area. The room also had a kettle and a TV. The owners were very helpful with recommendations and always on hand to answer any questions. There are lots of cafes and restaurants close by in the main square and the harbour.

Large accomodation for 5 adults (In my party).Clean and bright. Lovely balcony over looks part of the marina. Staff are lovely, pleasant & helpful

No lift, however staff very accomadating in carrying my luggage up.

It is situated at the top location; accessing beaches, harbors, museums, restaurants, train station, bus stop almost all points could be reached within few minutes of walking time. Thanks to booking.com, the check-in process was supercool & no hassles! Thanks to Rob, we got the room was ready & we are able to do a early check-in. Room is of decent size & the wi-fi offered superfast internet connection. Special mention is breakfast as there are a plenty of varieties on offer to choose from! Rob is very dynamic host & always there at the time of breakfast to help you within minute with whatever you need! No hassle for checkout either, it was completely seamless as well. The hotel being located just next to harbor will provide you enough flexibility to plan visiting the places according to your plan. If you have plan for exploring unique shops & different cuisines, the main shopping street & the centrum is just at stones throw! Hoorn being a small beautiful city, you could have ample options to explore & use the long summer days very productively as this hotel is so centrally located giving enough of flexibility to reach out to every point of attraction within minutes. I would definitely look forward to come back here in future! Its location is a bonus for every kind of travelers who come to Hoorn.
