Location room and staff excellent. Staff were very friendly and welcoming. The coffee and tea facilities were a lovely bonus.The location was excellent and it was very clean. I would recommended it and would be very happy to return there.

There was no place to sit at reception or bar to have a drink and relax. Because the weather was mixed including a thunderstorm it would have been good to sit in a lounge rather than spend so much time in bedroom. The tv did not have english channel.

Breakfast was great, staff was helpful and friendly, the room was spacious. The original touches of the building were wonderful. The parking was (at extra cost) excellent.

The heating in the connecting corridors couldn't warm up the place enough. It's a historic building, so just put a cardigan on for breakfast. The place was really interesting, so this is a minor inconvenience. (February)

The hotel is on a quiet location on the edge of the old town, easily reachable by car or public transport. The building still has a lot of the original details from when it was a school. The room I was in was half of a former classroom, with huge windows and a high ceiling. Other types of rooms are in the former attic (as shown in the hotel photos) or in the old headmasters office.

The wifi had some dropouts while trying to stream some music, but things got better after a while.

Very close to Train station and Main Alkmaar centre. Nice size hotel - only 22 rooms. Very friendly staff , helpful , efficient and provided excellent service . Good choice for breakfast and well organised to avoid overcrowding by booking breakfast in 3 x 1 hour slots . Very comfortable bed, in large room , good shower and excellent choice of TV programmes in room.

EVERYTHING! Location. Cleanness. Breakfast. Size of the room. High ceiling room. Parking size. Resourcefulness of the staffs. AND! The uniqueness of this property - renovated building that was built for the school! A lot of history to it! The photos on the wall inside is a history teller. Very special charm to this hotel. Make sure to use the parking on site if you are here for the cheese market event. Tourists are coming to this town for this event by tourist buses from neighboring towns. With the staff's excellent recommendation, we moved our car from a street parking system (paid service) to the one at the hotel to avoid potential problems around this huge event. Take a quick visit to the park in front of the hotel. Nice and calm with some tulips and a pond with some ducks! Enjoy Alkmaar!

Fantastic location, in the heart of Alkmaar. Staff very warm and welcoming. Nothing was a problem to help out. Room was a great size, very clean with air conditioning. Breakfast delicious, with a huge variety to choose from. Especially recommended if on motorcycle as we could store it on the grounds, many don't have that facility and they also allowed us to leave it there after check out for a few hours whilst we went into Alkmaar for more sightseeing. We will definitely be back and will recommend this to our friends and family. Thank you ever so much. We loved it. Its an absolute gem of a place.

College Hotel is a great place to stay when exploring the beautiful town of Alkmaar! Shout out to the super friendly staff. We enjoyed the breakfast (fresh bread, cheese, meat, eggs, yogurt). Rooms are large and the only sounds are from the seagulls! Parking is available on site (15 euro/day). Supemarket and restaurants are steps away (try De Binnen Komer). We also enjoyed the summer cheese market!

We stayed one night and we very happy with our experience. I found it interesting reading about the history of the building. A previous public school. There are art deco elements to the building. The rooms have beautiful high ceilings and are spacious .rhe beds are very comfortable. The staff were friendly, helpful and genuine. The breakfast was good.

The fruit salad was not fresh.

Nice breakfast with hot english breakfast (eggs, bacon, sausage) and proper coffee/ espresso machine. Could choose aso breads and spreads if you want. Was nice to sleep with an open window and listen to the oude kerk bells ringing throughout the night. very close to everything while easily accessible by car (with parking available)

I ws initially not sure about (two) single beds... Not what I expect from hotels (seems in Netherlands this may sometimes be the option) That said the extra long single bed slept just fine. Was a bit noisy early evening - the plain close by seems to attract groups that could be a but load, but by bed time it was fine.

We booked into this hotel as a place to stay while we found a place to live in the area. I was coming to start a new job in the Netherlands. I cannot say enough about how wonderful Ezra was in every way...he greeted us in the rain after many hours of travel from North America, helped us get settled in, provided us with all kinds of information about local things, and made sure we were booked in for the long haul in case we could not find more permanent accommodations. The others who work there were equally great - always friendly, helpful, and knowledgable. The hotel is great - clean, comfortable, with a very good breakfast - but really, it was the service that impressed us. This was a very nice welcome to the Netherlands, and we highly recommend this hotel.
