The hotel is located very close to the city center. It's a decent hotel, the wallpaper and furniture are a bit dated but the bed was comfortable and the room was big. There's a small TV, a desk and a mini-fridge. In the bathroom there's a large bathtub, with a shower curtain, as well as a large mirror and a hairdryer. There's plenty of space on the countertop.

One of the small hand towels which was replaced during cleaning had some stains, but the other towels were OK. The breakfast options were few, but tasty (3-4 hot dishes, 3 types of chees and 3 types of ham/salami, plus cereal and pastries).

Staff were excellent, very friendly and very helpful, and helped out with some issues I had on arrival quickly and with minimal fuss, in English which really helped me. Breakfast had a good selection, produce was really tasty. Location is great for the train station and and there is a bus stop right at the hotel which will take you to a lot of places around Alkmaar, including the AFAS Stadion, which is why I was in Alkmaar. Although I had to move rooms twice, every room was very clean and the beds were very comfortable, and I seen rooms being serviced regularly on my floor which is always good.

I had to move rooms twice due to what sounded like electrical buzzing from somewhere and I couldn't communicate with reception unless I went to reception personally, because the phones did not appear to work in both rooms - this was annoying because I'd travelled from Glasgow by plane and train and having to go up and down all the time after that journey wasn't ideal. Can't fault the staff though, the room issue was resolved quickly in any case, and I think maybe I had just been unlucky with the initial room location. I may be coming back to Alkmaar in future, and I would have no problem staying here again.

We stayed here for the second time. First time we stayed here only for one day and now for the whole week. The long stay was not worse than the short one. Everything was great again. Good location, friendly staff, clean and comfortable rooms. We didn't need a room cleaning every day, but staff whatever gave us a laundry bag with towels, soap etc. every day. It was very nice, but, to be honest, not necessary. I think, It would be enough to have a room cleaning/ laundry bag only twice a week. But in any case, it is very nice, that hotel provides us with it, even if it is redundant.

Everything was great.

Immediately along the bicycle trail through Alkmaar. Close to the Cheese Market /Museum and multiple other restaurants and shops . Relatively secure parking in the open parking garage with locked front gate . Make sure to bring your own heavy duty locks . Reception was friendly and helpful . Room 325 was spacious, bright and clean . Bathroom had great soaking bathtub and was clean with toiletries. Large elevator was available. Breakfast was a bit pricey but had quite a few hot and cold choices .

The prices were a bit high but this is Holland and Alkmaar is a fairly big city . One expects things to be a bit more expensive and they were !

This is the third time that I have stayed in this hotel and I always find it such a good place to stay. The staff could not be friendlier and as I have found a room that I love they have made a note on my name and I always get the same room which has a great jacuzzi bath. Great after a long days work!

Nothing really. I honestly cannot fault any aspect of the hotel although I have never had breakfast as I work till about midnight so I sacrifice breakfast for more time in bed but there is an excellent coffee machine in the room so all good.

Clean hotel, nice location. Dirk (the cat) living in the hotel bar and enjoying the company of the visitors, allows to cuddle him once in a while. The bar is very comfy to have a night drink, selection of drinks is decent and very nice to stay late.

The booking was failed by the hotel personnel. We booked a triple room, however on the check-in there were only double rooms available. The booking was changed without any notification. The issue was solved on spot relatively fast (not without a hint from our side on how to do it better), but was really not what would you expect after a long drive.

The room is very clean, big, and comfortable. Breakfast is a standard buffet but it can be more diverse. The location is very good at walking distance from the railway station and near to the center or old town.

Wi-Fi internet is not so good, and it should be AP in every room, but it can finish needs. Wi-Fi should be better set up and have some improved level of protection. For the average user, it is not so big issue.

During planning, it was hard to determine the quality of this selection. The hotel is immaculate, well-staffed, well-located and provides a full selection breakfast. Even little things like loaner umbrellas were provided.

We had a three or four day stretch of rain, often hard, always unpredictable. Can't blame the hotel for that; it's just Dutch weather.

The staff were wonderful and the room was very comfortable and a great size. I even had the addition of a brilliant big jacuzzi bath and a large balcony.

As we were there for work attending an international whisky festival it would have been nice had the bar still been open when we got back. The festival finished at 11pm and when you are on your feet and talking all day all you really want is to sit and chill with a cold beer. The hotel was fully booked, mostly by our delegates and the money the hotel could have earned would have been substantial.

Location was excellent lovely view of canal.Walking distance to town. Superb restaurants, cafes, shops. Didnt have breakfast but it looked delicious. We didnt have breakfast as family live nearbyCant fault
