This was a boutique hotel in a very central location. Above a bistro. The Web site said no meal plan available but we were able to book breakfast on check in. Our room was very tastfully decorated but we are not fans of no door on bathroom which seems to be a current trend and quite unnessary in our opinion. Breakfast was individual including various breads,cheese and yogurt etc. Free tea and coffee on landing.

The personnel very attentive and eager to help out, the nice decoration of the room and the geographical situation in the middle of the old town

The only negative point was the ventillation outside near the terrase - it was noisy until late in the evening (restaurant) and started in the morning - we could not have the windows open and it was hot - and the air conditining we did not want to use as too cold and noisy normally

Cozy botigue hotell in the old town of Alkmaar, close to the cheese market on Waagplein. Very good location and nice shopping streets with one of a kind stores outside the entrance. Excellent service, friendly staff and nice interior.

Although the room was very nice and cozy it would be nice with a door to the bathroom/ WC. The church bells rang regularly and the walls between the rooms seemed thin. Also couldn't find the power outlet in the bathroom for the hairdryer. Would be nice with some greens to the breakfast.

My room was so pretty and cozy, i had to really work up the motivation to go outside and check out the town (which is very cute: loads of little shops and quaint buildings, nice people and tasty cheeses) it's easy enough to catch a train and go to Amsterdam, knowing it's only for a few hours and when you've had enough of the crowds and the sensory overload,you can just come back here and sleep a peaceful little sleep in a big comfy bed. If travelling with family you might want something with a door on the toilet, but travelling alone I wasn't bothered.

I was arriving later than normal check in. It was confirmed that this wouldn’t be an issue. I was greeted at the door shortly after calling and taken to a really nice suite which I wasn’t expecting. Nice bedroom with open kind of bathroom & wash basin but with a toilet and shower behind frosted glass doors. The room had a split level feel and I loved the high pitched roof and exposed beams

Nice spacious room, proper breakfast (even too much) and very lovely hosts. Room was clean and even had a patio to sit outdoors. Right in the center of Alkmaar in a very cute alley with lots of boutiques, shops and restaurants nearby.

The shower and toilet were designed to be inside our room, but without a curtain or door, so could get a it slippery /damp around.

The room was absolutely beautiful, and the bed was the most comfortable I've ever slept in! Added bonus - the windows open to let plenty of fresh air in, which seems to be rare in hotels these days. Lovely staff too.

Wow! I traveled alone and loved this place. It is above a restaurant and the restaurant staff assisted with checking me in. I was on the 3rd floor (2nd for Europeans) and I was not bothered by any noise at night. The room was large, very comfortable and modern. First place I stayed during my entire trip where there was good functioning AC. I really enjoyed this hotel and the town it's in. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Hope to return with my partner in the future.

The tea kettle was located outside the room and I accidentally locked myself out. Staff were patient and quick to help me out though but it would've been tough in the middle of the night. From then on I put the key on the floor in front of the door when I entered my room to avoid forgetting it in the future. I traveled alone so I had no problem with the bathroom in the room, but the shower was open into the bedroom space (no shower curtain) and the toilet's walls did not go all the way up to the ceiling. So I could see how that might be uncomfortable depending on your travel partner.

Nice and comfortable room in a a pleasant hotel, with a great Illy coffee machine in the hallway. Rooms are spacious and beds very comfortable. Plenty of different lights offer all the possibilities to adjust lightning to personal preferences. The restaurant is a very high recommendation. Quality food, atmosphere and service!

Some noises late night/early morning noises due to mechanical ventilation (I suppose) in adjacent rooms, sounding like a small engine. But that is not unexpected in older buildings and certainly not dramatic

Lovely hotel above a bistro style restaurant, character rooms in the old part of beautiful Alkmaar. Friendly staff and everything clean and tidy
