We stayed in the upper floor and there wasn’t an elevator so my husband had to carry our huge suitcase up the outside stairs alone. The apartment air condition wasn’t working in the beginning and the wasn’t a remote. Only after we asked the host to fix it we got the air condition to work. the “parents bedroom” didn’t have air condition, only the living room and the B kids room. Another thing to take into account is that the apartment is located in a care free zone, so you’ll need to park the car in a parking lot a few minutes from there and take your luggage with you on the streets.

First of all, the communication with Sophie was top-notch! She was very attentive and accommodating to our special requests including a slightly earlier check-in, bike storage and a place to leave our things after check-out. She met us upon arrival and gave us many helpful tips. Our stay in Alkmaar and bike rides in the surrounding area were easily one of the top highlights of our trip. The apartment was very large, clean & comfortable for our group of 4. We loved the huge dining table, TV area, large windows and especially the roof-top deck. The kitchen was well-stocked. There are many great restaurants and a great bakery (Bakkerij Beerse) within walking distance. There is also a large grocery store just around the corner and the cheese market is a 5 minute walk. It was also great to have 2 separated bedrooms and bathrooms.

The views were all interior which was a bit of a bummer, but they still brought in lots of light. The twin beds were a little too soft for us and the sea gulls were very noisy - not allowing us to keep the windows open when we needed to sleep.

Right in the heart of Alkmaar, this place is a hidden gem, and not too far from Amsterdam. Wonderful hosts, really helpful for anything you may need. The apartment was comfortable and had everything we needed. Stay a Friday to enjoy the traditional cheese market and atmosphere. We also rented bikes to go to the seaside and stopped to admire the tulip fields. Impressive maize of bike paths in the region. Very nice bakery, restaurants and shops around the apartment. I could spend a week here.

We had not a problem with this, but if you are disabled, you need to ask if there are any apartments at ground level.

I liked the luxe smart TV'S. I originally wanted to take my date to the movies but since the only nice movie was playing at 22:00 (and I needed to drive for 2 hours to get there) I figured we might as well grab a hotel room with a good TV and just watch movies there. I looked over various options (especially cheaper ones) but didn't find anything else that fit what I was looking for. Most cheaper rooms didn't have smart TV'S, had small ones or just weren't clear in regards of what you could do on them etc. The room offered streaming services including logged in accounts which was a nice surprise since it meant we didn't have to fiddle around with our own accounts. The beds where nice, the shower was luxurious and small little things like shampoo and towels were already there. Everything was clean as well.

There was some noise, not sure whether it was the pipes or something else but it was a little annoying, it however didn't pop up often so it didn't interrupt our movie time or keep us awake. The floor of the bathroom was really cold, I recommend putting a bigger carpet or something of the like on it. Parking cost us an additional 20 eur which I think is pricy since the hotel itself was already 120. Besides all of this, the experience was amazing.

The staff was exceptionally helpful. The apartment we had was well equipped. They also had air conditioning in the main room. I think some of the rooms don’t have air-conditioning but we booked one that did. We were able to book parking and have help with our luggage as well. We are grateful to the staff for helping us with everything. This is a family hotel and they work very hard to make it comfortable for guests.

Maybe they could’ve provided more towels (we each were only given one) but that was enough for us, and I am sure if we had asked for more. It would’ve been provided right away.

Upon arrival we were met by Sophie who was extremely friendly and helpful,the property was extremely spacious and very clean the kitchen area was equipped with hob oven fridge and dishwasher the lounge area was very comfortable with a dining table for six people, comfortable beds and nice bathroom.Located five mins from Old Town area with bars and restaurants plentiful, 2 mins to local supermarket and main shopping street. Property as described on booking. com recommended

Nothing to dislike

Sophie and her family did an excellent job all around. The studio was immaculately clean, newly renovated, and tastefully decorated. Sofie was always available for questions or suggestions on where to eat, drink and enjoy all aspects of the Dutch culture in Alkmaar. If you want quiet you will definitely have it. The hotel is located on a side street where there isn’t a lot of noise. I would definitely stay there again.

Location location location, what more could be said. We were in the heart of the village with many great shops and restaurants literally at the doorstep. Fantastic 👍 The rooms were exceptionally clean and the bathroom was modern and roomy. Perfect 👍 The family 2 bedroom apartment was spacious with a big kitchen and air conditioning. 👍

Our studio apartment was a little bit warm and there was no air conditioning or fan, but we could open the patio door to get a bit of air movement in the room.

We were met by Catherine when we arrived, and due to both her personality and the facilities there was instant rapport. We appreciated (for a two-bedroom apartment) the spacious rooms and the second toilet. The small courtyard and roof space was an extra that unfortunately we did not have time to use.

Well, it's the Netherlands, so expect to carry your luggage up a flight of stairs.

The location is great. The staff are very friendly and thoughtful. They run the hotel with so much passion, and they will do almost anything to make sure the guest(s) have a great stay.

The fact that I had to leave after one week. I felt almost at home there after my stay.
