This is a smaller ryokan that is tastefully decorated and very comfortable. Breakfast and dinner were beautifully presented, delicious and the property catered to food allergies. There is an attention to detail and a warm welcome. The view of the lake was soothing and the location along the lakefront was perfect. After 4 weeks of travelling, this was the best ryokan I stayed in and it was the perfect place to relax. I would not hesitate to stay again and recommend.

The wifi was a bit weak. The outdoor onsen on the first floor was closed (probably due to winter weather?).

Staff were very helpful and tolerated my bad Japanese. View from the room was amazing and it was very peaceful. It is right next to the main beach of the lake and from the room you could see the lake and it felt like a painting in your room.

Onsen could have been slightly better but it was still decent. Maybe be careful if you have arachnophobia because there's a lot of spiders outside at night and a few come into the hotel.

Convenient location, right at the lakeside

No shower facilities in the guest room, which is a major drawback. Only 5 showers available in the public onsen area, sometimes all of them occupied. There’s one “private onsen compartment” which one needs to prebook and offers shower facilities too, but also very often occupied.

The location is strategic, close to Lawson and petrol station if you are driving and offer shuttle bus to train station. Public one is good, with one indoor and 2 outdoor pools with temperature around 41 degrees C for the indoor pool. And private bath is available, first come first serve, and nice lake view.

Not much food options if you are not driving.

Great onsen, lake Tazawa is beautiful, employee very friendly.

The air conditioning was far too warm (could not be adjusted), and although dinner was very tasty, it was overpriced at 7,700 yen for the meal.

The location was great. The dinner and breakfast were both delicious and the staff were wonderful. The baths were also fantastic - both the indoor and outdoor ones.

The staff, location and amenities were excellent. We enjoyed it thoroughly. Staff were so polite and helpful.

Nothing to dislike, but as vegetarians we found little hard to find food.
