Overall a great place to stay. The location is amazing, I highly recommend getting a room facing the lake in the newer part of the facility. The restaurant was incredible, we were seated at a window table with a great view and the food was stellar. Very modern decor and spacious rooms. I appreciated the blackout roller shades as I am a light sleeper. Nice bath amenities and a huge flat screen TV.

Little cosmetic issues with the room like damage to the tables and a missing doorstop. There was a small amount of garbage in one of the cans left from a previous guest. Flat screen TV was really nice but the wireless connection was poor and when we tried to stream on Netflix the connection kept dropping. With the price you would have expected a complimentary breakfast but the only option was to purchase from a limited menu at their coffee shop.

This newly updated hotel was a welcome surprise for the area. The lake view rooms have great views and are very comfortable. Hotel is quiet however being close to the coffee shop can be a little noisy in the morning, but we are early risers so not an impact. The onsite restaurant was some of the best food we had in the Michigan UP. Great mocktail selections and food variety. The view from the restaurant was great too. I would certainly stay here again if I'm in the area.

The room was brand new, still had the new smell. The view of the bay was beautiful from the room and it was nice having seats on the terrace to watch the sunrise. The staff sent a text to check on us shortly after check-in, that was a nice touch. The restaurant and Biggby Coffee in the hotel were a bonus. We will definitely be back for a longer stay!

There were two chairs on the patio, but it would be nice to have a little side table as well. It would be nice to have bar soap in the room, but not a huge deal. The ice machine was only available on the first floor. Again not a big deal, but it would be a nice option to have one on multiple floors.

Great location to do a lot in that part of the UP. Clean, great views, beautiful pool area and delicious food in the on site restaurant. Love how you can text and the staff is so awesome about helping out! We went for the 4th of July and the fire works were great to watch from the hotel.

You can tell a lot of hard work has been put into the older part of the hotel. Couldn’t sit on the balcony cause there were spider webs and dead bugs all over.

Cleanliness was top notch. The staff at check-in counter was really friendly. Rooms had all the facilities we needed (fridge, microwave, kids TV channels etc.). Location is pretty good both in terms of view and accessibility to other places. It is right between Escanaba and Gladstone so you have easy access to restaurants etc. and about an hour or so away from places like Munising, Marquette etc.

It would have been great if breakfast was included in the price

I loved the view! Loved the shower and products. Liked having a microwave, fridge in the room.

I prefer a sink in the bathroom. One of our beds was very squeaky. The toilet wasn't functioning and a repairman came after an hour of reporting the issue. He worked on it for over an hour. This was very inconvenient, but they did fix it. The pool and hot tub are dated, over chlorinated, and the hot tub was luke warm at best.

The room was beautifully decorated and updated and it was so nice to see the room actually looked like the pics on the website. The hotel itself smelled fresh and clean. The carpets and paint in the hallways were clean and looked new. It was nice to have an upscale restaurant on property as well...the food was delicious!

I would say the only thing would be the lights on the balcony/deck outside the room were very bright all night long even with the shades down and it would have been nice to shut them off but I understand that they are on for security.

The staff was amazing. The customer service was great, they check in with you to make sure you everything is going good throughout the stay. Our view of the bay was beautiful, we used the free bikes to ride into Gladstone to the beach area. Great location for day tripping in numerous directions in the U.P. Tavern and Coffee shop were good, too.

Beds were a little too firm for my taste. But partner had no issue :-)

The owners are renovating and our room (and VIEW!!) was amazing! The new lobby will be dramatic and modern and blue water backdrop with all glass! Our room had beautiful stone wall sections (real!), which I have never seen before. I even sent pics to my son who manages several nice hotels. The pure water view was just gorgeous.

Just a couple things, like the rough parking lot, but it is on their agenda to improve. The restaurant was beautiful too.

We had a lake view in the new wing and it was fantastic! Clean, modern rooms, a spacious balcony, and the sound of water lapping against the shore all made for a great last night on our Labor Day Weekend trip. We also ate at the Tavern and not only was the food delicious and beautifully plated, but the waiter was very patient with our requests to accommodate our toddler. This place was great value for the money, and I wouldn't have minded staying another night so that we could've tried the free kayaks or bikes.
