Buffet breakfast was very good with several dishes on the table. Room was large and bed was comfortable. The grounds were nice and perfect for a walking/hiking or doing any of the activities they offer if you're so inclined. The restaurant was packed for Saturday night and seemed like a favorite spot for the locals. The farm/orchard across was nice. Location was somewhat off the beaten path so that has its own pros and cons... for us it was mostly pro.

The AC/Heater was loud and the walls were somewhat thin, even with the loud AC/Heater we still heard the people walking and talking outside or on the adjacent room. The room was relatively clean however I found old pajamas stuck under the headboard

It was such an amazing and calming experience the staff was so friendly always smiling the food was exceptional the chef was readily available smiling offering any help. The food is so delicious and it was such a comfortable and warm experience. The ATV ride made our stay ! The person that took us had knowledge of the entire area and was so easy to speak to he made us feel safe and comfortable he allowed us to stop and take pictures of the animals and touch them the animals had more than enough food their hair was calm their areas were clean there were newly born animals playing joyfully it just was an exceptional experience. I encourage anyone that goes to consider the ATV ride, and you absolutely have to have the food. Lastly for a cabin that had been there for years it was very clean. No dust bunnies anywhere. I enjoy the warm bath like our home. There was firewood and we had our own fire. Just a wonderful experience all around.

Not staying longer

We really enjoyed our stay at Graves Mountain Lodge. The location is absolutely beautiful—tucked away in the mountains, peaceful, and surrounded by nature. It's the perfect place to unwind and disconnect. The scenery, fresh air, and overall calm vibe made it a great escape. We’re looking forward to coming back again!

The first floor of the main lodge felt a bit disorganized during our stay. It was crowded and somewhat chaotic, especially with music students practicing in shared spaces. A bit more structure there would’ve made the experience even better.

This was my absolute favorite place to stay during a 10 day trip. The location, property, room, view and amenities were absolutely fabulous. The room was comfortable and clean, the view was spectacular and a short drive to Charlottesville and Shenandoah National Park. A huge bonus for me were the farm animals- they were friendly and obviously well taken care of. I also appreciated the stack of firewood for a campfire overlooking the gorgeous valley, it was very quiet and the stars were spectacular. Thank you!

There was nothing I didn't like

Great farmlodge near Shenandoah National Park. Near Old Rag Mountain Parking and park entrances, beautiful surroundings. Spacious rooms an cosy indoor dining facilities.

Had to wait very long for dinner because ‘the cook just stopped working’. Being asked if we would like to have a drink while waiting we expected this as a house offer for the inconvenience, but found the drinks right back on our tab at the end of the evening. That’s not very hospitable.

The lodge rooms were very spacious and had a great view. The microwave, mini fridge, and coffee pot were nice to have, and the beds were super comfortable and clean. Breakfast was good, but make sure you get there early when it's fresh.

The shower heads were placed low, so if you're over 5'9 you'll have to bend to wash your face and hair. They also advertise a lot of things nearby, but most of it is a 30+ minute drive, so just be aware when making plans.

Amazing location at the edge of Shenandoah National Park with rich history. Far away from civilization. Gives you the feel of being surrounded by nature. Each room has patio with the Mountain View. Big outdoor swimming pool. Restaurant on premises with good food. Plenty of available activities and walking paths. I wish we could stay for a week.

The swimming pool closees at 6 pm and you need to bring your towel.

We wanted a stay where we had space to relax and slow down. The farm lodge was perfect. The kids enjoyed the animals and all the space to run around. We liked that the rooms had things needed at a hotel but felt like we were in a cabin. The pool and play area were fun for the kids too. The parking was so convenient too! We drove into the national park, but next time we will use one of the guides at the property to hike straight into the park.

The internet was a little spotty. Not a huge problem, but it did make getting driving directions in an unfamiliar place a little hairy.

Food at the lodge was great. Nice peaceful location, pretty scenery. House was roomy and kitchen very well stocked with pots, pans, etc. Hiked some and enjoyed that, then it poured rain until we left but still had a good family time playing games and snacking. The little store was close to our farmhouse and was very nice.

Thought dinner buffet was a bit pricy. The only thing I was actually disappointed in was on the website, it sounded like visiting the animals would be pretty neat. I thought from the description, it would just be set up a little better. No horses were out and about, found the longhorns by accident on a walk farther down the road, guineas all in a kind of small cage. The pigs in the mud were impressive but one had a very large tumor on its behind

I love the property and the people who work there are friendly and kind! It's an amazing place in an amazing location with lots to do close by. We will be back!

We weren't impressed with our room, it was facing a hill with no view unlike the rooms on the opposite side of ours. I think I'm more annoyed with booking.com because when we booked this room we didn't realize how small it was and that we were choosing a room without a view. The listing was deceiving.
