The rooms were very private and had keypad locks. The parking was very convenient. I really liked that I didn't have to talk to anybody I could just walk straight into my room. Every morning Breakfast was self serve. There were bagels, muffins, yogurts, cereal, etc... This is the best cheap option other than staying at the local roach motels. It was decently clean, didn't see a single bug.

My only complaint is the bed was a spring mattress with very little padding. I weigh about 160 pounds and I felt every spring. I purchased a memory foam pad from Walmart so I could catch some Zzz the second night.

Great location and private rooms with private baths. The breakfast options are a great touch. I slept hard every night. The bed was comfortable and so were the pillows. The upstairs rooms are pretty quiet, especially Caverns room which is a little farther than the other two upstairs rooms. The porch swing is a great place to chill with coffee or watch for fireflies in the evening. I wish it was a bit cooler at night so we could enjoy the hot tub. Next time!! I’ll definitely stay here again when visiting Luray.

Nothing comes to mind. It was pretty quiet and quite lovely.

Great price and location! I wish I had booked it at home instead of on the road because I didn’t bring a swimsuit and found out there was a jacuzzi too. The only reason I didn’t give it a 10 is due to the wooden bed frame. We whacked our knees on that sucker a few times. Some corner padding on those would be great. (We had the Shenandoah room). It was quiet and breakfast was good too. Honestly, it did lack a little warmth without human interaction and it being a B&B, but all in all, it’s a great house, great amenities (LOVED the shower!) in a great location for a great price. The directions were easy and we’d stay again.

Breakfast was lovely. Many choices were available. No restrictions on timing. Codes for the house and room were given early and directions were easy to follow. Easy access to town, just steps to Main Street. Nice recommendation for dinner special. Town is great, friendly, walkable with a visitor’s center and a great staff. Very happy to recommend this inn and the town.

Fantastic stay. Hosts responded and fixed WiFi in 5 minutes. Breakfast is awesome. I want the quiche receipt! Beds super comfortable and extra pillows are a huge plus. Shower has great water pressure, bathroom fully stocked with toiletries. Mini fridge in the room with soda and water. Coffeemaker with coffee in the room. Plenty of parking in back.

Personally I would do a good spring cleaning (fan blades, switch plates, baseboard molding) but the important things are clean: bedding and towels are immaculate. And hosts overcompensate with other things.

Can't beat the location! Easy drive into Shenandoah, Luray Caverns are close by, and the small town surroundings are charming. The Blue Ridge room was spacious and the bed was very comfortable. Breakfast was more than adequate with some delicious homemade egg muffins. It was helpful to have a mini fridge (thoughtfully stocked with a few drinks) and the ice machine in the shared kitchen. The hot tub was nice, but I would have appreciated some instructions as I didn't want to break anything.

The shower was touchy - hard to get hot water. Shower curtain should be washed more frequently. I'd suggest the easy-off Velcro type you see in some hotels to facilitate this. While the furniture is lovely, an easy chair would be so welcome after a day of hiking Shenandoah! A water dispenser would also be helpful. A bit more attention to breakfast set up would be good - the egg muffins were out of place so there was ham in my "veggie" muffin (The cooler was fully stocked, so I'm pretty sure it wasn't another guest mixing them up)

LOVED this cute Victorian house which has been remodeled and updated. The rooms were comfortable with their own bathroom and TV. Bathroom was great wirh very hot water. The fridge was pre-stocked with some drinks and there were extra towels for the hottub. Breakfast was delicious with a variety of homemade quiche. Staff were so helpful and sweet. The hot tub was a great bonus! Location was perfect right in the center of this tiny town with so much to do around it!

The beds don’t have box springs so they are a bit firm. Otherwise perfect!

The Hawksbill House is a gem. Great stay the house was very clean and tastefully done. Quiet cozy room. The breakfast quiche was delicious and the coffee was very good. Loved the no standing in line filling out forms to get in the room. Close to some good restaurants, The Ollie Cat Cafe has a great menu and we really enjoyed our meal there. We also enjoyed the Rancho Diejo Grill. Very good southwestern food. I would highly recommend both places.

Would have liked to have more cable channels. Missed my Morning Joe.

The breakfast was very adequate. We stayed in the Shenandoah Room ( probably the smallest room ) but we found it to be very acceptable. The owner was terrific and showed us the Blue Ridge Room downstairs and it was beautiful. We will definitely use The Hawksbill House when we visit this part of the Shenandoah Valley in the future.

We liked everything about our stay/

Great location and breakfast. Parking good. Charming building. Found a deck of cards in the chess box, thanks! (It would have been better if it was out in sight where we wouldn't have had to search for it.)

Heater was very difficult to control. either too warm or too cold. When we finally found a happy medium it constantly cycled on and off which was kind of annoying when trying to sleep. Temp seemed to fluctuate plus or minus almost 10 degrees and the unit is very noisy. Drain in sink was very slow and we had to watch it to keep the sink from filling up with water.
