Character and grandeur - so rare to find this in handy walking distance to a nice little town. Luray itself, humming with just enough for a few days activity ( including Main Street open air bar, live music and amazing sandwiches - a lot of fun after a few hours good hiking ). Also loved sitting rocking on the hotel veranda in the warm evening air as well as the overall friendly welcome/service ( notably front desk and very helpful chief bar woman )

A lovely old place but a few easy tweaks? Speakeasy great but perhaps errs on “cheap cafe”? It needs a bit more ambience( ie “dark and inviting” with a splash of rich colour and gentle table top lighting, and more appropriate jazz/piano music vibe etc ) It’s also let down by frankly ugly modern ceiling and maybe too much kitchen view. Service could be quicker and occasionally more cheerful - we hovered for ages without a hint of welcome but then things were obviously very busy - felt pretty sorry for staff. Rooms really do need coffee/tea making. Front spotlights are blinding when sitting on balcony, ( maybe grow a few plants to partially block? ) All this said we really did enjoy our stay, delightful setting and the service was good, very friendly. The MOST AMAZING STAFF I have ever encountered at a hotel or honestly from any hospitality location 😍 They go above and beyond to make you feel comfortable and welcome and if you stay there you should 150% try the restaurant downstairs! We went twice because the steak with the gorganzola cream sauce and the broccolini(got it slightly well done so it wasn't too crunchy lol) was 1 of the BEST steaks I've ever had as well. We even stayed an extra day! Should also go see the Luray Caverns while there & take a dip in their pool outside! You'll thank me later lol

Pretty much everything was 12/10 with the 1 exception of breakfast. Going to keep it 150% honest even though the staff, restaurant Downstairs & accommodations were so phenomenal Breakfast in the main lobby at Circa 31 wasn't good and I had to pay for it so that sucked but doesn't even register on my scale with how amazing and breathtaking everything else was.

The hotel was outstanding, and our room was fantastic. We ate 2 dinners at the “Speakeasy”(hotel’s dinner location). The staff was very pleasant and attentive and the food was good, hot, and well proportioned. The breakfast location was very elegant and the wait staff was very attentive. The same comments apply to the food served there. Top notch. We were also impressed with the overall cleanliness of the hotel and the grounds. If you have a large party (wedding, anniversary, etc.), be sure to inquire about the cabins located on the grounds, just steps from the main building. They were very charming. This was quite a place. Very impressive.

Nice clean room with hard (=clean) flooring, big tv in room, 24/7 coffee & tea in lobby downstairs, breakfast included, nice comfortable breakfast/lobby area. Decided to add 1 night while staying there, and was advised & assisted very nicely by staff at counter on how to do this the best/cheapest way. Plenty of safe 'drive-up' room in front of hotel, either for checkin or pickup, something that lacks at many downtown hotels.

Elevator can be used without key, so is accessible to basically anyone that walks in.

The staff was so gracious and wonderful and even gave us a free room upgrade. Food at the Speakeasy and Circa 31 was delicious. The location was exactly what we needed for the places we wanted to go, but we regret not having the time to take advantage of the amenities during our stay (pool, fire pit, hammocks, sky terrace, etc.) We knew there wouldn't be a fridge for the particular room we booked, so we brought a cooler and made use of their ice machine. In the closet, there was a full length mirror and two robes. The bathroom had a jetted tub and a fan.

The air in the room was stagnant. The bathroom fan and the window AC units were appreciated, but it was not enough to circulate air (windows are sealed shut). We brought dessicant dehumidifiers, which improved the air. The new booking system that they're using was glitchy (but any issues were quickly addressed and compensated). The TV remote sometimes needed to be relinked to the TV (there are easy instructions on how to do that on the Xfinity web site so it wasn't a problem for us really).

Breakfast was good both mornings. Our server, Leah, was attentive and cheerful. The Mimslyn restaurant was closed but the downstairs Speak Easy was open. We ate there both nights and were quite satisfied.

The jetted tub filled with water ankle deep while showering and took five minutes to drain; the lamp in the suite sitting room had to be plugged in and unplugged to work - switch did not function; the overhead light in the bathroom flickered for about 30 seconds before staying on. That was somewhat annoying. It would have been nice to have a mini fridge in the room. We used the ice machine to keep drinks cold so we could take them along the next morning was we toured the area. This was not a surprise since the hotel does not list a mini fridge on the website, but its absence was nevertheless felt.

My friend and I took a girls trip to celebrate us both turning 50 this year! This place was so amazing that our birthday expectations were met 10 fold. We loved the tiny town, which we walked to from the Inn. We ate both at brunch and dinner at the Inn, and both times the food was incredible. Our room was so luxurious, and the grounds were absolutely stunning! We actually went upstairs to the roof top terrace and play games one afternoon, and it was perfect. We will definitely be going back! Next time, we will bring our husbands! :)

The only thing that we were missing was a mini fridge in the room to store our drinks. We did use the ice bucket and were able to cool the drinks with ice that they provided, but a fridge would have been a bonus. We noticed they had two closets, so I wonder if a small fridge in the bottom of one of closets would work to put one.

ample parking, beautiful , historic and an awesome spa tub in the room with fast plumbing for the tub, but the shower head was old and the water pressure wasn’t as strong as the tub faucet. The door to the room was heavy and tough to open and close. Speak easy pub restaurant was fun with live music and great food. Had grilled salmon with asparagus and it was cooked perfectly.

The room was $350/night for a king suite. The couch arms had stains on them so made the whole couch appear dirty and my wife covered the cushions with towels before sitting. No side table for the bed since the bed frame was up against the wall. could move the frame 2” to accommodate end table. The room refrigerator made an awful humming sound and wobbled terribly. No hairnet or q-tips were provided.

I intended to stay local to Luray Caverns and close to Endless Caverns. I wanted to find a hotel that was somewhat historical, I did not realize I found something part of the historical hotels of America. I was splendidly surprised. The goal was to enjoy the time spent in the hotel, but to get out and enjoy the area. Which is what my 9 year old and I did. The morning we checked out we were both awake early enough to walk down the long drive way and catch the sun rise over the edge of the mountains. Beautiful hotel, friendly staff!

The atmosphere, food, location and customer service were great! Everyone was so kind, accommodating and helpful. We enjoyed the amenities and the fun activities to do around the Inn. We liked visiting the Caverns and museums! The room was clean, spacious and very nice. The spa bath was wonderful!

The bed was very uncomfortable but the layout of the room was very nice.
