I haven't seen anyone mention it yet but the most important thing about this place is that there is zero natural light coming into the rooms. I thought from the photos that there would be at least some but the windows are so small and made from that crystal kind of glass so the room is fully dark even in daytime. If you're comfortable with that then it's a nice value place right next to the golden temple. Sarath was nice and responsive, flexible about my late arrival time, and drove me to the bus stand in his tuk tuk when I was leaving at a price marginally cheaper than Pickme offers. I heard from other guests he also does tours and they appreciated him greatly as a guide.

No towel or even a mini soap were in the room upon arrival, and I can't understand a hospitality venue that doesn't provide these absolute basics. The natural light issue as i outlined above. Food was whatever - hoppers, an egg, bananas, and tea - standard for a free breakfast. A bunch of monkeys came in and ransacked the place right after I was done eating, I thank them for patiently waiting.

It was an incredible experience to stay there. The host is very friendly, nice, kind and interesting man, who is very well educated, has few university degrees, very intelligent man! The dinner and breakfast were great! The real Sri Lankan taste! There also were travelers from Italy and we had meal together, had very interesting conversations, shared experiences! Absolutely must be done in Sri Lanka!

Dambulla is a very humid place, so it was very damp in the room and didn't smell well. But either than that it worth the experience 100%. Just be ready-it's not the way we used to live in Europe.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in the villa! The location is perfect as it is walking distance to the cave temples and even shorter on the way back. Also Sigiriya is only a 25- minute tuck tuck ride away! The rooms are clean and spacious and the house has a lot of character. However, the best is the host! He went out of his way to make our stay memorable. He was on his motorbike quicker than we could vent our wishes and prepared the most amazing dinner and breakfast for us himself. The food was excellent!! As a big group we had the place to ourselves and loved to sit with our host and chat. He also organised excellent transport service for us the next morning. We can strongly recommend this place!!

One night was too short ;-)

I had chosen this hotel to stay away from the chaotic traffic of Dambulla and in fact I found a real pearl of peace and wisdom. The structure is modern and well furnished internally. The room is large with very comfortable beds and mattresses. The bathroom is equipped with every local comfort, including a good Wi-Fi and there are many electric sockets, good air conditioning and blade fan that are almost silent. The manager is a kind, affable and caring person who organized 2 days of unforgettable excursions by taking us from the Avukana Buddha to Pidurangala, Sigiriya rock and Polonnaruwa ancient complex. He also edited breakfast and dinner in detail delighting us not only with his local dishes but also of a warm company and his precious indications. The location of this hotel, despite the rural appearances, is strategic for those who want to visit the famous temple in the Dambulla's Cave Rock Temple and the surrounding area on foot in a few minutes. But it is also for those who want to make close encounters with elephants and other animals that feed themselves along these roads, without resorting to a safari... to take exceptional photos. In short, to start knowing the culture of Sri Lanka we could not find better! This place is already an experience in itself, highly recommended, and we wish all the best for him.

For the type of short-term holiday in this country we were forced to stay too little time here in Heritage Rangiri Villa

Our stay was just amazing! Everyone was super helpful.The owner came to pick us up from the bus station. The place is very neat, the room has AC. The terrace has an incredible atmosphere.The owners made local breakfast, and you can order dinner for an extra few euros, but don't miss it! He cooks very well 😄 There is a tuk-tuk driver who can take you everywhere for a reasonable price! Everything was super nice and comfortable! Highly recommend!!

I didn't like that we had to move on!😄 I really wanted to stay for one more night just to talk and chill in that place!

I had a great stay! The host was exceptionally friendly, communicative, and always willing to help. He even assisted me with figuring out which bus to take for the next part of my journey, which I really appreciated. The breakfast was tasty and generous. The accommodation itself was pleasant and comfortable, and it also had air conditioning, which was a big plus. I definitely recommend staying here!

The owner Serath is fantastic. He made local food for breakfast and dinner, and food was very delicious and big. You can have a good conversion with him about everything. It is not a five-star-hotel, it is a lovely homestay with a super owner. Very good value for money. Near the rock and golden temple, walking distance to the supermarket. We needn’t restaurant because of our excellent privat chef, Serath.

The host was very helpful & friendly. We had previously stayed at their hotel in Anuradhapura where we were very well looked after so wanted to continue our stay with them. Breakfast was home cooked & delicious! We had a lovely chat with the host whilst we ate. Slept very well, the bed was comfortable.

Location is slightly far out of the main town but close to Dambulla cave temples & onward bus stops to Kandy.

The manager is an amazing and kind person, and not only as regards the guest house, but also very helpful with tips and what to visit next in Sri Lanka. Also, location is walking distance from the Dambulla Cave Temple and every bus to Kandy or Sirigya stops nearby. Breakfast was also included and delicious and on request you can also order dinner there (which I did, and I was fully satisfied).

Nice room with good Air conditioning. Very quiet area so it's very peaceful. Owner very friendly and disponible to assist his customers needs.

Better cleaning needed. Change of bedsheets needed during the stay. New set of towels should be provided every 2 days during the stay.
