All the resort's facilities are beautiful, wonderful and in a great location

The smell of the sea overlooking the resort is different and not pleasant from the other beaches of the sea. Also, the electricity was cut off in the middle of the night for 10 minutes, and it happened to me twice.

The staff were very hospitable and welcoming. Everyone at Saffron restaurant went above and beyond. Special mention to Chef Masud who always checked on our family to make sure we were eating well. The staff at the beach bar took care of me and any issues I had with our stay. Karim, Mohiy, Ahmed, were always asking if something needs improving. And when I did have an issue (kids club was in less than ideal conditions), they got me in touch with Mr. Salah who was operations manager and quickly rectified the issue. The trick to this place is to use all the campus. Beach at Fanar, eat at Rotana, and if you want a quiet no kids zone drink at Juweira.

No chillers in all pools seems a little off in the GCC.

Everything! from check in to check out it was so smooth, experienced both calm & busy atmosphere during my short stay & everything was amazing during both times. All staff i met were so friendly, helpful & gave comfortable vibe to be around. Can't remember all the names so i don't want to miss any.. so thanks to each & every one of you! Though the main beach due high tide was closed, the safe alternative beach was amazing & cozy too. Pool was lovely, Saffron restaurant had great variety of delicious food (BF, Launch & Dinner). Zen spa was so relaxing! Ocean view room was top notch, spacious & comfy, & can't describe the view enough! As well as the whole area between the buildings, it is very nice to walk & just roam around the facilities. Totally recommended!

Easy drive from airport. Location was close enough to all areas within 30mins drive mostly. Beautiful setting so clean and the staff were absolutely fantastic. Room and bathroom so spacious. Lovely beach bag as a gift in each room which was so handy. From hotel beach we saw dolphins and also sardine fishing takes place end of the beach which was an experience in itself.

The only negative is tea/coffee at breakfast. They only have one person taking orders and to get tea/coffee takes ages. First morning ended up walking away without my drink as finished my breakfast. Didn’t find the beverage guy at breakfast as friendly as the rest of the staff hence why gave 8.

From the airport pickup 🚗, wonderful welcome 🙌, golf buggy ride to the room 🚙, spacious & gorgeous room 🛏️, restaurant with quality and varieties of food 🍽️, lovely swimming pool 🏊‍♂️ & beach 🏖️. We had the best time and enjoyed every minute of it. 🥰 A big shout out to Mr. Atif at the front desk 👨‍💼, Mr. Madhu at the swimming pool 🏊‍♂️, Mr. Amal housekeeping 🧹, Mr. Ali who picked up and dropped us from the airport ✈️🚗, Mr. Majedul in cabana #2 🏖️, and everyone in Saffron restaurants 🍲, beach bar 🍹 and other restaurants 🍽️. You have all been great, and thank you for making our holiday enjoyable. 🙏 Food was excellent 😋 and you could go to Fanar hotel for dinner 🍽️, which meant you could have something different every day. Free transport to the other hotel 🏨 and the aqua park 🏞️ was a plus. Overall, everything has been very well organised and thought out. 👍 @Mr Atif, we are waiting for the discount codes to revisit in October. 📅

I had the pleasure of staying at Rotana Hotel Salalah, and it was an excellent experience overall. The team was remarkable in their hospitality, but what truly stood out was the dining experience. Special appreciation goes to Sous Chef Mohammed Dawoud for the outstanding cuisine, and to the restaurant team — James, Mon, and Muottaz — for their exceptional service and attention to detail. Another highlight was Said at the concierge desk by the porte cochère. He was truly amazing — always prioritizing the comfort of the guests, and with his smile and sense of humor, he managed to turn every uncomfortable situation into a pleasant one. The hotel’s ambience is serene, with every corner designed to create a sense of calm and relaxation. Staff consistently go the extra mile to ensure guests feel welcomed and well taken care of. One area that could be improved is the guest rooms, which would benefit from refurbishment, particularly the joinery and doors. Overall, it was a memorable stay, and I look forward to returning.

Fantastic property, staff and facilities are good. The breakfast/dinner spread is scrumptious. Rooms had a tad bit of moisture damage which is understandable. Room service is quick, everyone is quite helpful.

Kind of far from the airport and in the Hawana area they don't allow taxis from the app. So you have to depend on the taxis from the hotel which charge you around 15 OMR / 40 $ one way to the airport.

The staff was amazing. At the reception Mohammed and Inlda were absolutely delight, enormously patient and helpful. We are so greatfull for all their help accommodating our needs. I red some reviews about the hotel And I disagree with many reviews. The yellow light in the rooms is so relaxing and welcoming. Nothing too bright or annoying. The resort is all about relaxation. I am so glad that there are no “cellphone towers” on the roofs of the hotel, so no one on the phone next to you for 24/7. Thanks goodness neither people in the beach were on the phones none stop. Wifi In the rooms, restaurants, works perfectly. The whole atmosphere is friendly, relaxing, peaceful and welcoming. The food at Saffron restaurant was very delicious, big variety every day. Aqua park is 5 min walk or 3 min min on the hotel bus. Very clean with great slides. Literally, everyone we met or spoke to, were very friendly with smiles. The location is superb. Went to see waterfalls in the matter of 20 min. The hotel is beautifully built. It’s for families and couples. We definitely would be back. Amazing resort!

Humidity and a lot of rain caused mold issues in the airshafts. The hotel is working very hard to clean all up and to make sure the problem is rectified at their best ability.

The reception welcome, check in and assistance was flawless. Atif checked us in and was informative . I had an issue that the water park was closed on Sunday and Monday, 2 of our checked In days. This fact is not mentioned in the site nor of the water parks site. This is one of the reasons we booked at rotana. For this oversight, Atif n manager checked us in early and we had an upgrade to a junior suite. The beach was AMAZING. The current can be strong but there are many life guards. The food was ample but not very tasty for us . Mr James at Saffron was very accommodating with my request. We went to dinner to the Fanar restaurants one of the evenings. A shuttle will take you to the adjacent hotel. The meal was so so delicious .

There is not enough information about activities as it is a resort. The kids club had little supervision. One guy at the front desk who spoke little English n no other staff to organize activities. The food at saffron was very bland, the staff was great but I think they should reconsider their meal offerings at the buffet servings. We had a junior suite but it was very dark. Could hardly see each other at night. No mirror in the room Itself to get dressed so you have to go to the bathroom, which to be fair was very large , which was comfy for us. Tv has no cable channels . Mainly Arab channels , for a 5 star resort. I expected some cable channels.

The place and the breakfast and the staff

I didn’t like that the breakfast starts at seven. It should be at least 6 AM opens as some of the families needs to head outside the property for sightseeing earlier. And I had an incident that I have to leave earlier to the airport last day with my family and I called the room service to send us a breakfast around 5:30 AM but unfortunately they don’t serve as everybody is busy and not yet the staff ready to do a hot plates for breakfast + during high season in July and August they should add more golf cars as we are suffering from late arrival to pick us up.
