Beds were comfortable with plenty of blankets and pillows, rooms were clean and well maintained, hot showers with great water pressure, view from the balcony was amazing. Communal areas were well presented, my room itself wasn’t the most flashy. But very clean, comfortable, quiet and cozy. Which is what i personally value most. Staff on the front desk and restaurant were all friendly, welcoming, professional and attentive. Food was great and reasonably priced. Great access to the slopes, with the skiiable access down to La Grande Sûre chairlift just a few meters across the road, and a quick 200m waddle back from the Village Run access via the Rés Saint-Laurent carpark (may be a slightly quicker return access, but i didn’t check during my short stay). Great town location, only a short walk to a number of ski shops, supermarkets, restaurants and bars. I would highly recommend it, reasonably priced and great value for money.

The only thing i can fault, is the shower head holder was fixed in a way that directed the flow towards the wall. Mildly irritating, But easy enough to work around with a bit of balancing or by simply holding the shower head.

The staff could not have been more friendly or helpful. The sauna and steam facilities were excellent and really eased the muscles after a hard day on the slopes. Dinner in Chez Jules was delicious- I had the winter vegetable curry and my partner the Tartiflette. The panoramic bar was comfortable and well-decorated, with a great variety of games and stunning views of the mountains. It was a perfect place to relax and I recommend both the long black coffee and the Kir Royale.

It would have been nicer if you could ski directly back to the property, but this is my only criticism. We had a wonderful time, thought value was excellent and are planning to stay here again shortly.

The hotel was brilliant and had everything I needed. Very clean and excellent staff who were warm, friendly and attentive to help. The views of the mountains from the rooms were amazing. There is a ski shop next to the hotel and it takes only 5 minute walk to the main telecentre office to buy ski passes and get the lifts connect to the main ski areas. The bed was very comfortable and the shower was brilliant. The decor in the rooms was dated but it was all immaculate and overall a brilliant hotel.

The Le Castillan Hotel was an amazing experience from start to finish. I was pleasantly surprised by the friendly staff, cozy ambiance and the flat that provided everything I needed. I am extremely grateful to have stayed at Le Castillan and would definitely return in the future.

Lovely people great location amazing views from balcony. Restaurant is very good. It’s a great value family run hotel. We will return for sure and have recommended to friends already. Ski shop below also fantastic and again such lovely people.

Le Castillan and its employees are top notch, local hosts. They truly enjoy inspiring you with the serenity and beauty of Alpe d'Huez and everything the town offers. The location is perfectly tucked away from the hustle and bustle of the "Shopping" and "Bar" district, but distinctly close enough you don't need to break a sweat (but still count those stairs) to get there! Ski lifts are all located within 5 minutes walk.

Everything! We chose this hotel for our annual skiing trip to Alpe d'Huez and were not disappointed. We loved the room with balcony (incredible South-facing views) and bath (helped my ski-sore muscles) and the fact that the hotel has a lift, a sauna/steamroom and also offers the most lovely breakfast as part of some deals. The staff were all incredibly friendly and helpful. The bar is atmospheric and full of interesting Alpine decoration. We decided to use the shop attached to the hotel (Alain's) to rent our skis and again, were not disappointed. Excellent prices for decent equipment and wonderful people who work there. Very happy and we will return as soon as we can.

we like view from window . nice balcony. its amazing . its better then we hope even . love it . also i like hamam . close to bus station and to center. also very hot in room its amazing .

no fridge in the room . no shoes . will be amazing to have kettle and some tea . because after ski little cold and want drink something hot on that amazing balcony .

Staff were Super helpful and friendly. Bar areas was very comfortable with a good range of drinks and cocktails. Restaurant was a good standard. Rooms are of reasonable size and comfortable Good range of bars and restaurants within a short walk

It's been a while since the decor was updated - but not too bad. Walls are quite thin, so noise from other rooms can be troublesome. It is a 300 -400 meter walk to the nearest lift - could be challenging for some in ski boots

Lots of character. Good facilities from the sauna/ haman spa area, ski storage and bar. Great wooden games like solitaire and connect 4 in the bar/ lounge area. Everyone was really helpful and friendly. A lovely local atmosphere and family feel.
