Great staff. They even allowed me to have my dinner at 5PM (originally 6PM) because I had to go to Washi no yado for owl observation and photography at 6PM. Very clean and close to the harbor. Will surely stay again next winter.

Rauso is the last stop before entering Shiretoko National Park. Shiretokoserai is well located on the main road at waterfront. Our room can see water from our window. It's a small hotel, or a hostel. I missed the sign when we arrived so went straight to tourist information centre, though I have got rough idea where it was. We've got all essential stuff for staying. The dinner was amazed us. Obviously the chief has spent great to create such a well presented set meal with local products. We love to meet those items/food from local producers. He is surely a talent chief. Though we didn't drink any wine that night, the dinner was fully engaged us.

The hotel and rooms are modern, very well kept and very clean. The staff was friendly and helpful. Dinner was made with local ingredients and was tasty. A separate children's dinner was served which our son really liked.

The rooms and especially bathrooms are very small (we were a family of two adults and one child). It was ok for the two nights we spent there but could be challenging for a longer stay.

The food was absolutely amazing. The location is also great to do whale watching, which is easily in walking reach - according to a local the whales are better seen in the afternoon (I was not disappointed). From the "harbour" I also saw a stunning sunset (depending on the season you might have to hurry with dinner ;)

Compared to other areas in Hokkaido it felt a bit more expensive, even if accounting for the sophisticated food. With the national park and whale watching next door, it's probably a price that people are ready to pay, so you have to be aware of that.

Dinner was good. (Although, it they asked food allergies/preference in advance, it would have been better.)

When my friends couldn’t eat sashimi (raw fish), I asked to the staff to cook them but they said no. There were not many customers really… also at the breakfast, there were some fruits for 7:00 group but not for 7:30 group. I also asked the staff to get more fruit but they said there were no fruits. All were taken by 7:00 group.

We came for Whale watching and stayed for one night. Our room was very clean and had all necessary toiletries that we need. We had both dinner and breakfast here, they were all very excellent!

May be you can put off a sign saying lowering your voice after 10pm as we could hear some noise from upstairs.

Sea view from room. Room is big enough to open luggages. Dinner was great with Japanese Italian fusion food, love chef’s creativity. Breakfast serves western and Japanese food. Love their home baked bread. Location is along the road to Bear Rock and waterfall. We spotted many deers, fox and a black bear when we drove out from hotel before dinner. Highly recommend.

On the main road in Rausu and easy to access. Spacious room. Free parking. Good dinner and breakfast with great homemade bread.

Ground is not sound proof and heard lots of stomping from upstairs. The second building has an odd smell to it - hallway smells like feet/shoes, room smelled a bit smoky, and the bathroom had a slight sewage smell.

Beautiful little place facing the sea in the town of Rausu. Clean rooms. The meals were delicious.

Rausu town itself has little to offer so one must travel across the mountain about 30 km to Utoro to do all the activities

This place is great. The food and service were exceptional. Thanks to Yuki for taking such good care of us at dinnertime and thanks to the chef for delicious meals. I wish I was still there..
