The Staff was so kind and polite. We had to wait a while to check in because our room needed to be cleaned. The hosting team was so apologetic and did everything they could to make sure our young kids were content and comfortable.

The parking situation was a little confusing at first as you have to drive around to the back of the building to park, walk back around to check in then unload luggage from the back of the building where you're parked.

Absolutely loved the comfort of the bed. Perfect! I also found the location of this hotel to be great and fine parking situation. Breakfast was definitely delicious too!

Only thing I could suggest would be maybe provide a list or booklet of nearby restaurants or specials they may be known for. There seems to be quite a few establishments around and a guest may find that helpful .

surprisingly crowded, not enough places to sit during breakfast. one of the female staff members gave me a hard time for not opening the back door for her, which is accessible only if you have a key. At that time I didn’t know who she was and was uncomfortable opening the door for a random person. She made a very nasty comment to me when she had to use her key. The prior day I saw a homeless gentleman going through the garbage can located near this same door, I didn’t let him in either. I felt her rude comment was inappropriate. Doors are locked for a reason. I later saw her a the front desk so I know she was an employee.

It was within walking distance to the royal oak theater! The room was clean and the bed was so soft! Along with the bathroom being clean and nice, the room was huge!

The view kinda sucked but that's okay we didn't spend much time in the room anyway.

Hotel was clean and comfortable with friendly staff. We found a few pretty good takeout places nearby.

I intentionally booked a more suburban hotel as this was my first visit to Detroit and I didn't know the neighborhoods and surrounding towns. Going anywhere required a lot of driving but maybe this is a Detroit thing generally. I would definitely consider staying somewhere more central next time.

The room was spacious and clean with excellent facilities. I particularly enjoyed the breakfast. The parking facilities were convenient, and the sofa bed was comfortable

There weren't any significant drawbacks to mention.

Great location to family in nearby area and to Detroit attractions. The breakfast options were phenomenal - both hot and cold and healthy. The fitness center was well equipped and user friendly.

The room did not have a microwave. The in-room coffee maker was tiny. The back entry did not have automatic door access once the key card was used - this would have been most helpful for those of us who are older, traveling alone and needing to use the baggage cart upon arrival and departure. A streaming TV option would have been nice in place of cable.

no rooms with a jacuzzi but not a negative thing just a personal preference i enjoy when staying in hotels!

Location is great, Royal Oak offers lots of restaurant, bar and shop options within a very walkable distance. Easy access to highways if you need to go further

Seems pricey for a non-luxury hotel.

The location was good. The room was comfortable and large with a small sofa/reading area. Breakfast was good.

The housekeeping schedule was confusing. We were told that due to covid they would clean the room every three days. We could request more if needed. They serviced the room the first morning which was fine but not expected. The housekeeping staff was great about swapping out towels when needed. On the third day, I asked the front desk if we were scheduled for cleaning, they said yes. The room was not cleaned. The next day we asked again to be on the schedule. This time the room was serviced.
