This was a nice little hotel and I appreciate a small business.

The breakfast is an option of a breakfast sandwich made from sliced bread, plastic cheese and a sad egg. Crappy coffee or tea. So I don't eat gluten so it was a overfried egg with processed cheese for me. No options for vegans. Not even oatmeal. You could get 2 dollars off but the other food at the diner they send you is not good. I would suggest expanding the menu options or don't say this is breakfast included. Motel/hotel breakfast isn't usually amazing but not having different options for other diets is antiquated and misleading.

Staff was very pleasant and welcoming. Loved the atmosphere and swanky lobby. Very unique concept of modernizing what was once just an old motor inn style motel. We had the pleasure of meeting the owner, very lovely gentleman who went above and beyond to make us feel welcome.

If I had to say anything I guess the room itself seamed to be missing some key items- only one bedside table and no chair available.

Vibrant hotel to match the equally vibrant city of Royal Oak. I didn't want to stay at a boring ole hotel chain and this place seemed like a cool unique stay for the weekend. It definitely did not disappoint. The breakfast was cool in partnering with the next door cafe. And the hotel staff were so genuine and friendly. The rooms were clean with a mix of vintage and new. Extremely close to everything. I walked everywhere from the hotel.

The contactless check-in was novel, using bluetooth to unlock the door. The renovations to turn this older property into a cute boutique hotel were well executed. The property is dated, but clean and pleasant. Voucher for breakfast at adjacent restaurant was nice, too.

Lack of seating in the room...a small side chair or two wouldn't have taken up too much space. Still opportunity for some cosmetic fix-ups around the building and grounds, but nothing that was a negative experience.

We have stayed here many times. The facilities are always welcoming and clean. The location is awesome especially for seeing a show at the Royal Oak Theater; it's within walking distance. I love the decor, the common area for people to gather and its clean.

We weren't able to watch TV. I called the front desk and a HDMI cable was missing. Once that was installed the TV worked for a few minutes then no sound. Bummer.

Loved staying there one night for a show at Royal Oak Music Theatre! It was a super quick drive or a 20-minute walk to the venue. The front desk staff were so friendly and helpful! They had a bar with lots of drinks, snacks to order, and free breakfast bagels, pastries, and coffee – would definitely stay here again!

Everything was very clean and quiet! The room was spotless and the bed was very comfortable, the bathroom felt like a spa with the special shower head and the super plush linens, fancy vegan soaps, and just overall atmosphere! This place reminded me of a hostel I use in Chicago, This is a wonderful hole-in-the-wall place to stay, and definitely recommend everyone stay here at least once!

It is kind of in a weird spot off the road, wish it had more scenery around it directly, but the overall location is a quick and easy entrance and exit from really everything, and close to Detroit for the sights!

Location is close to downtown. This is our second stay in 2 months and all the rooms are updated, nice sheets, towels, beds, clean. Friendly staff. Small pavilion offers concerts on most Saturdays in the summer. Corn hole, hammocks, fire pits, resting area and games also. Courtesy bikes if you want to go on a ride. Nice breakfast/lunch spot next door. Nice TV’s. Nice size refrigerators. Microwaves. Just an excellent place to visit.

Very retro - in a good way. Nice lounge area in the main building with coffee. Very friendly and attentive staff. Fun area in the middle of the outdoor lot with tables and games. Property is right off the highway in an area close to music/entertainment venues and restaurants.

Bathroom door does not close properly or lock. Just a pocket door.

Freebies at the front desk! Lots of character! I loved the decor. Decorated modern/chic and it was so inviting! Lots of space to walk around the room. Large window to look outside. Beautifully made kitchenette with coffee and larger then normal fridge. We were all very impressed with the room size and comfort. Pretty sure the floors are heated too!!! We are already planning a summer trip here, just for the hotel!!! Close to lots of restaurants and bars, and the best pastry shop I have ever visited. We will definitely be back.

The futons were a little uncomfortable, only because of the buttons on the seat of the bed. Wish I had a nap pad or thicker blanket to go over those. My daughter claimed a tiny group of ants were marching around the bathroom so I went to go see. Indeed there were a little group of them by the wall across from the toilet. No big deal because none of us complained about them. We just let them do their thing!
