Le Bourbon it is located in a really central place, walking distance from all city centre places to visit. We were welcomed by Pascal, absolutely smashing, really welcoming, helpful and friendly. He also speaks several languages. The room was spacious and the toilet, not modern but really usable. There is good aircon, as the rooms can get hot, we were there in the middle of a heat wave. Breakfast was generous buffet and good, with some lovely baguette and very good coffee. There were works on the square where the hotel is , but it was very quiet at night anyway. Wifi as also very good. Pau is a lovely little city, with great walks and unexpected historical facts, like having been the place where was born the last king that French people loved( the first Bourbon). All in all, a very good stay, Merci Beaucoup Pascal!

It was not clear to me the complication to park the car when we arrived, as the hotel does not offer one. That said, in the Place Clemenceau which has a super cheap rate of €4 all nitght until 8 am. There are not far also large open air car parks with ridiculously cheap rates, like €3 per day or similar. Again, Pascal at the reception was very helpful in letting us know the options. The hotel is really not new, but it does not feel too tired and definitely is not uncomfortable.

The accommodation was in the center, close to attractions, terraces and restaurants.We didn't need public transportation, everything was within easy walking distance.The cleanliness was acceptable.

The hotel's equipment is old, the rooms also need some renovation. There was construction work going on in the square in front of the hotel, which was a bit disturbing, but this is not the hotel's fault. Overall, we recommend this hotel for 1-2 nights in Pau due to its location.

Manager kindly held our baggage for us before we checked in, helped arrange a taxi for us when we left (even to the extent of making sure we caught it while a student race was taking place.) He also furnished us with a map and information. Bed and shower were excellent, and the location couldn’t be better. Pau itself is wonderful: beautiful vistas, exceptional shops and restaurants, wonderful food court and museums. The presence of university students is always an added bonus. And we were there for the Jurancon Wine Festival! We will return soon!

Good location with the Parking in front of the hotel. The entrance of the hotel is not nice but the rooms are clean and big. Very good system of heating. Wifi is perfect. Breakfast was very nice with bread, croissants, etc. I asked for gluten-free and lactose-free diets for my husband and the hotel gave us everything! The breakfast room is cosy and very well decorated (with a beautiful view of the square).The staff is very kind and very supportive. Next time in Pau, I will be there again.

The manager was extremely kind, despite our slight language barrier. The check-in was smooth. The location is prime with a view over the main square. With the windows closed it was nice and quiet. The airconditioning was great. The hotel style is a bit outdated but does have a real charm. Some minor things could be fixed (loose tile in bathroom, broken frame in hallway etc.) but overall well kept.

Best location at Centre square. Sometimes some noise from revellers at night. Lift from 2nd floor. Not for disabled or who can’t take their luggage up some steps. Ok bathroom, clean but clearly old. Good bed with sheets and blankets. Continental breakfast adequate, not luxurious. Room made up everyday.

The receptionist was superb. He did not speak very good English, and we were limited in French but this did not stop him making us feel very welcome and attempting to engage an interest in us and our plans. Great location too.

The breakfast is overpriced. The air con was not very effective.

Great location in centre. We were just passing on the way to the mountains, but it’s a lively town worth a visit in its own right. Great choice of restaurants nearby

Great location in the main square lots of restaurants and bars nearby. Nice breakfast and very helpful reception manager. Hotel does need a bit of an upgrade but really good value for the price.

Very friendly hotel. Bit dated but not an issue as location was central. Reception desk so friendly and helpful, despite my poor French, I will try to improve.
