We visited Kalymnos for the first time 37 years ago. We had a limited budget, so we took a room with a local family in the port of Pothia. We were afraid that Kalymnos might have been destroyed by mass tourism as so many Greek islands, but it has not! Although the island has developed in those 37 years, it does not cater to mass tourism or the party crowds. Visitors are mostly Greeks from abroad returning for weddings, to see family and keep their children connected to their heritage and people who come for rock-climbing and hiking. Thank heavens that there are no sandy beaches to be had! This time we travelled more comfortably, to say the least. The Carian is a family-owned and run hotel, built directly on the ocean overlooking Telendos. It is decorated in a contemporary Greek, style using the best of Italian ceramics and other materials. The color scheme is white and sand, bright yet relaxing, with highlights in subtle shades of blue. The beds are VERY comfortable and the AC perfect. Housekeeping is stellar. We had a junior suite - spacious and comfortable with all the amenities one could wish for and a lovely terrace. Breakfast buffet is great, generous and varied, with lots of things made in the restaurant kitchen that change every day (spanakopita, tyropita, wraps, stuffed pitas, eggs, bacon, potatoes, salads and fruit, Greek yogurt, cereals, cakes, croissants etc.). The swimming pool is not immense but quite swimmable and well-maintained with a saltwater system. Lots of great sunbeds and umbrellas. There is also a tiny pebble beach one flight down from the pool for people who want to swim in the sea. The poolside snack bar serves good food and drinks. The hotel staff is wonderful: caring, efficient and helpful. When we stayed (late July) the clientele was overwhelmingly Greek from Australia (and the US) who had come "home" forfamily weddings. Here were also a few French, Italians and Danes. We will definitely come back!

There are a LOT of stairs and no elevator, so it's not necessarily a hotel for the mobility impaired. I had some mobility issues due to an accident (the cab in Cos took off when I was not yet seated and I had a torn ligament) but I was able to navigate the hotel anyway. The staff as very kind and helpful, and generally concerned for my well-being. I really have NO negative comments!

Clean, great view, ok breakfast, intimate, not super busy, semi private access to beach and sea, good selection of restaurants near by. Relaxing and quiet. Pool bar prices reasonable. Staff super friendly and helpful

Not enough sun beds, sun beds quite basic

I was impressed by the hospitality, comfort and location of the hotel. Unforgettable views and sunsets. Close to all the restaurants, and other amenities. The hotel has a Spa with sauna, steam room and spa services, the owner Pola is amazing. I initially chose this hotel due to the Spa availability, but then the hotel itself exceeded my expectations. Kindest staff going above and beyond keeping the customers happy. The island people treat you like close friends, and are kind and caring. Mountain climbing, scuba diving all within close reach. Such a beautiful slice of paradise. Left me with warm memories

We loved the view from our room and the pool area is great with plenty of sunbeds. The staff were also very friendly and accommodating. Iannis on the front desk in the evening was great fun.

Tip - try to get a room on the first or second floor to get the best views. Originally we were put in one on the lowest level where the sea view is restricted which was a bit disappointing. The staff did arrange for us to move to a room on second floor though so it all worked out for us!

The breakfast was fresh and delicious, with a good variety to start the day. The sea view from our room was simply stunning — waking up to the blue Aegean every morning was unforgettable. The room itself was spacious, very clean, and comfortable, with everything we needed for a relaxing stay. A heartfelt thank you to the entire staff — Sevasti, Themi, the three Giannises, and Evone — for their warm hospitality, kindness, and excellent service that made our stay even more special.

I absolutely love everything about Hotel Korin! There are no downsides

Where should I start? I have been to the finest hotels, but this one was truly amazing. A boutique hotel away from the noise of crowded, touristic all-inclusive hotels, where there is constantly a crowd of people around you. A boutique hotel with locals working, which made me happy to see the management supporting the local community and providing jobs. Everyone from the staff was speaking at least English and usually more than 2-3 languages. The cleanliness of the suite and the hotel in general was beyond any expectation, and the cleaning ladies were so friendly and attentive. The breakfast and the restaurants served high-quality food. The view from our suite was amazing. Picture this: we had a lovely evening on the terrace with a great view of the ocean while soaking in the pool and enjoying the elegant dinner that room service brought straight from the restaurant downstairs. I mean, this is a picture I took from this vacation to bring back home with me!

Very nice location, having a small beach just in front of the hotel. Staff is very helpful and kind. Nice breakfast in a panoramic view of Masouri and Telendos. Rooms are spacy (at least the one with sea view we had). Massage is available also in the hotel for those they want to. Easy access to Masouri (walking distance), with plenty of choices of restaurants, bars and touristic shops.

Everything was good. I have only to mention that wifi is poor and needs upgrade for more stable and continuous connection.

Superb view. Wonderful staff, Irene & the other Australian lady on Reception were so helpful. Breakfast very fresh every day. Great bar man who made brilliant cocktails. Reasonably prices which compared with the bars in the resort. Lovely clean pool, decent size which was quiet and always a sunbed. The staff at the pool were very attentive. Couldn't fault it & would definitely recommend. Thank you for a lovely stay. I'd definitely return.

Only problem which was very small - my travel plugs didn't fit well into some of the sockets the room where there was a switch next to the plug socket which stopped it going in. (By the bathroom & at bed head).
