The house is beautiful and comfortable, and has many traditional features. The location is excellent, you do not have to step very far out of the door to experience the beauty of Obi.

Unfortunately, the items in the kitchen were not very clean which was disheatening as I planned to cook - glasses, spoons/chopsticks, plates etc were all a little dirty. There were some condiments provided but these were sticky, and generally the condiments were lacking (there was no salt or pepper which was unfortunate considering these are staple items).

Located in a beautifully preserved peaceful location, the accommodation is highly recommended for a stopover to explore the region. We appreciated the helpful staff with local tips. Modern convenience, comfortable beds, spacious rooms and serene setting gave our family of four a great base to rest. Visit Obi Machi for a true taste of Japan.

Bring a sleep mask if light sensitive (better yet sleep and wake early).

The house is elegant & clean & the garden is beautiful. Good cooking facilities with refrigerator. Closeby supermarket for those who like to cook. Although some facilities were not working as expected, the staff had been helpful to offer alternatives.

It's a beautiful Japanese house that has been meticulously renovated in a way that we were just in awe. We would have loved to stay much longer! It's a place, where you will feel at ease right away. The garden is also beautiful. And the staff at Nazuna were super friendly and helpful. Highly recommended!

Location and concept

I was allocated a house different from that I saw on the website. The map reference given was incorrect. It was 100 meters away from the correct address, nobody spoke enough English to redirect me. In the end a member of staff of Obi Castle showed the way

Feels like High end Airbnb, enjoyed our stay even for only 1 night, wish we can stay longer.

It is difficult to locate the reception and pick the key. Suggested that have a good communication with the hotel before arrival OR hotel may send the map to guest next time.

Beautiful traditional Japanese house in quiet street. Perfect for staying with the whole family and for relaxing in between excursions around southern Kyushu.

We liked the space, perfect with two little kids. The kitchen was helpful to cook breakfast in the morning (no coffeeshop open early morning close by). Renovation work is very well done, gives a feel of what living in a samurai house--modern version--might have been like. Noticeable improvement vs. old times: soothing bathroom, with a large wooden bath and complete sets of amenities Great location to explore Obi on foot (even on a rainy day!!)

Nothing much, small details here and there: cleaning appliances (for use by the management team) stored in a rather untidy manner in kitchen cupboards accessible to guests, a chipped coffee cup brim, poorly located light switches (unreachable without putting slippers back on) and the lack of an additional mirror in the bathroom (the big one is far away and impractical to put contact lenses on for ex.)
