We were there for 6 days, at the beginning of June 2025 Room: Amazingly quiet (very thick door), absolutely sound proof. Not even a whisper heard from the other rooms nor the street. Very spacious with a lot of light thanks to the big window Plenty of light as well at night thanks to the many lamps an appliances (usually hotels rooms in the evenings are rather dark and glum) Plenty of space to put our things on: dresser + a table and chair + coffee table near the sofa Big cupboard and a bench for our luggage And of course, how else, absolutely clean totally spotless Lobby: Spacious and comfortable with plenty of seat seats and armchairs Breakfast: Perfect, couldn't ask for more Parking: Many spaces for the many cars, right in front of the hotel, entrance thru a gate with a card so no "intruders" The grounds: Many sunbeds and chairs to get tanned and getting straight into the lake for a bath The staff: Always smiling and ready for us. First time ever that my wishes were guessed and realized even before I'd ask: the right coffee on my breakfast table before I'd even sit. "I know my guests" was the usual answer I'd hear from Mrs. Vogel when I'd expressed my surprise. Unbelievable! And last but not least the stunning view on the lake and it's unforgettable sunsets. Bottom line, a unique experience which will be repeated. Thank you! PS Try to get a room with a view on the lake for its glorious sunsets!

Nothing, it was perfect

The location is unparalleled. Easily accessible from Salzburg via the 150 bus. The town is much more lively in the summer when the water is warm enough to swim, but we quite enjoyed the more quiet nature in late May. We spent our first day soaking up the sun in the private seating area by the lake, reserved for patrons of the hotel. Although our second day was drizzly, (had to cancel our stand-up paddle board reservation) we still made the best of it & took a beautiful walk around the lake, then took advantage of the spa at the hotel (saunas, water massages/jet tubs, water beds, an infrared chamber). The crowning jewel of the trip was by far the accomodating nature & hospitality of the family Vogl, who run the hotel. I could not speak more highly of them. We arrived in town 4 hours before we could check in at 15:00, and they were happy to hold our luggage until then at the front desk. I had warned them in advance when booking the stay that my mom has celiac & cannot have gluten, and during our breakfast (an INCREDIBLE spread, unlike anything I’d ever seen at a breakfast buffet), they brought out all sorts of gluten free options specifically for her to eat. As we had to head out before breakfast on our last day, our stay concluded with the AMAZING 5-course dinner put together by the hotel. You must reserve at least a day in advance, and was worth far more than the €32 a person that we paid to sit by the lake & enjoy our delicious food. My mom was blown away by the fact that they made a special cauliflower soup for her for her allergy, and offered her high quality gluten free rolls. We cannot say enough about this trip of a lifetime and recommend to anyone.

More about the town than the property itself— as this is a small town, food options may be limited on certain days of the week, especially if you are dealing with a dietary restriction. I would suggest planning ahead of your trip where you will eat for each meal to ensure that you can find a restaurant that is open at that time.

Location was very good with a regular bus service to Salzburg and Bad Ischl. A comfortable stay with friendly enough staff.

Location of our room beside a storage area for the cleaners made for noise from 7.00am each morning. We were left with a bit of a sour taste regarding the ordering of a taxi on the evening before our departure. Sorted in the end but initially told that ordering the taxi the previous evening at around 7.00pm was too short notice.

The terrace is large & in a beautiful position overlooking the lake. Plenty of seats, loungers & sun umbrellas. Hotel immaculately clean. Meals very good. Staff are attentive & helpful. Hotel only a very short walk from bus stop. Wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.

As there is no air conditioning it would have been helpful to have a fan in the room. (It may be that they are available - admittedly, we didn't ask). Care needs to be taken getting into the lake from the terrace - the rocks at the foot of the steps are slippery & uneven.

Staff was very nice to us, they helped with everything what we needed. We had so delicate diners. The room was cleaned and we had everyday cleaning service. We appreciate the large parking spot opposite of the hotel. Because of sleeping time of our young baby at the same time as dinner time the staff brought us the dinner in the evening to our room when we ask for it. It was really helpful atd we could enjoy our stay. Moreover this hotel has a terrace and you can enjoy your breakfast with beautiful lake view. For us 10/10.

Room with balcony overlooking the lake was totally worth the extra cost!!! Very comfortable and spacious room. Breakfast was a feast every morning, I look forward to it every morning. Dinner was great most of the time. Best thing I like about the hotel was a sauna area, such a treat to relax in the sauna before jumping into the cold lake for a refreshing dip! Family run establishment, excellent English

Can’t think of any

The location is perfect. The hotel is literally by the lake and has its own private lake area. The location is not too far from Salzburg and a great starting point for exploring all attractions is the area. Breakfast buffet is excellent

Be aware that there is no AC and the rooms are "old style" , and not modern city Hotel, means there is coffee machine or frig in the room

Lovely and welcoming Austrian styled chalet overlooking a pristine lake with beautiful views, in a quiet small town close to Salzburg. The 1/2 board included delicious dinners that varied each evening with a lovely presentation. Breakfast was also plentiful with a variety of choises. The hotel was impeccably clean with a courteous & professional staff. Would highly recommend.

The mattress and pillows were a bit too soft for us.

Location superb especially when you have (winter) sun in once of the nice rooms with a view on the lake, ideal spot for a walk or run along or around the Fuschl lake; rooms are very quite and a nix mixture between traditional Austrian country style and modern hotel look

Amazing location, the lake is divine. Great "beach" area with enough sunbeds and umbrellas for everyone. Kind and professional staff. Good breakfast.

Cleanliness - did not really meet expectations for a hotel in this price range.
