The room and bathroom were extremely clean. The bed was comfortable, the room was large and staff were really friendly. Yes, it is a bit dated but they have picked all the right things to upgrade and the comfy bed and cleanliness were better than many more expensive hotels.

The sound of people opening doors to nearby rooms is very loud, thankfully no one seemed to be up and about too late so it didn't get in the way of a good sleep. Car park was large but very haphazard and there weren't proper spaces when I arrived, I had to park on a kerb next to one of the buildings.

On first impressions this hotel doesn't look like much on the outside; it's a bit weathered and the carpark needs some work in places but when you actually venture within, it's very nice. Yes, it's a little dated decor wise in the common areas, but it's very well maintained, and I believe the management have focused their resources on keeping the rooms clean and updated. Our room had clearly been renovated fairly recently and the bathroom was immaculate. We were extremely comfortable and really enjoyed our stay, it was excellent. We would happily stay again.

We were looking for a place to stay an hour extra night in Newtonmore. The essence of the reviews we read were that the hotel was cheap and cheerful, good value for money, and with a really helpful and friendly staff. We concur, from our recent experience!

The double bed was of the smaller variety, and there were no luxurious extras in the room, but all we needed was somewhere to stay our extra night. It was cheap and cheerful, but met our needs. Good array of towels, an efficient shower, extra bedding if needed, tea and coffee making facilities....basic but all we needed? Breakfast was ok too. Not haute cuisine, but plentiful and acceptable.

We had a wonderful stay at this hotel! The price was really reasonable. The location is perfect, just a short ride to all the main tourist attractions. Our room was spacious and comfortable, providing a nice retreat after a day of exploring. I definitely recommend it for anyone looking for a budget-friendly and conveniently located place to stay!

My only small suggestion is that some rooms have separate hot and cold taps, which can be a bit inconvenient. Other than that, I highly recommend this hotel and look forward to returning!

Fantastic dog friendly hotel. Clean, warm and comfortable. Great good and an amazing location for walking. Amazing value for money too.

We travelled with our dog and felt very welcome. There is even a doggy friendly restaurant. The outside area is lovely and clean. We were in a room just off the main hotel it was a great size and very clean. The staff were super friendly always smiling, and even have a family of ducks and ducklings paying a daily visit to them. Good choice of food available, prices the same as surrounding places. The walks and scenery around the hotel are amazing and wish we had more time to explore them. Also plenty cafes, food places near by.

Although we had a doggy friendly restaurant it was very very dated. Table was set nice but felt a bit eerie with the 1950s decor so we didn't want to spend too long in there, appreciate a safe place for dog while we ate though. No vibe or entertainment in the evening, we just pulled out the cards, but on booking. com it does say entertainment available. Wasn't a deal breaker though. Only other thing to mention is that we could hear every movement and sound from the people in the room above us and had a bit of an awakening at 6am when it sounded like them and a whole coach load of people woke up and went for a shower and getting ready, lots of footsteps and creacky floors

Pleasantly surprised with the quality of the hotel and facilities for the price. We arrived a little early but we're able to check in as the rooms were ready. The rooms were clean, fresh and well appointed. The bar was opened up for us , it was pleasant, comfortable and well stocked. Breakfast in the morning was more than sufficient catering for continental as well as local tastes. All in all, excellent value for money and we worth a repeat visit

Comfortable bed, room facilities good, staff were lovely, food was tasty and well cooked.

A little busy and crowded for us as there was a very large coach party booked in on the evening we stayed - so it was a little tricky organising an evening meal; to be fair they did squeeze us in and the food was nice! It is a large hotel after all catering for many people so obviously not a criticism as such, just an observation for those people who may prefer quieter, smaller venues.

Breakfast was excellent with plenty of options. Loved the boiled eggs and fresh orange segments. Our room was refreshed with care everyday and was very welcoming to return to. Superb location and friendly, helpful staff

Gluten free options on the main menu were a bit limited but on days where there was set menu it was better. Some food seemed as if it had been cooked too long.

Room was generously sized, clean, and quiet. The WiFi worked well. There was a good sized kettle, and were plenty of sockets for devices. I didn't sample the food, so can't comment on that. I only really interacted when I checked in but the staff were friendly and helpful.

The "double" was two singles pushed together. Unfortunately there was a difference in height between both mattresses, so there wasn't just a little gap in the middle, there was actually a perceptible step up/down! I was on my own and wanted a double just so I could stretch out, so it wasn't the end of the world. The shower was a little cramped. I'm 6" and wear an L/XL, and I was just about ok. I think someone a bit taller / heavier / broader shouldered would really have struggled.
