We were impressed from the moment we drove through the gates and entered the premises. History, charm and a distinct Chateau-feel charracterised the common parts. A lovely bedroom complemented by a spacious bathroom shortly described the Superior room we stayed in. People in search of a standardised hotel night should probably look elsewhere; people in search of an experience true to the region of Chateaux will rejoice.

nothing - can't wait to try out the outdoor swimming pool and the on-site restaurant when we come back (which we definitely will)

The Castle is impressive, it has noble facilities with antique decoration and style. The breakfast salon and the restaurant are imposing and beautiful. The lighting in the evening brings a magical touch.

The staff could have been more kind and helpful, particularly on our arrival and departure to help with the luggage considering that it is a medieval castle with many stairs and long walks depending on the location of the guest room. This kind of service is expected from a hotel of that category.

The chateau and grounds are wonderful. We stayed in one of the cave suites, with a queen bed, a large sitting area with a pull-out couch for our adult son, effective air-conditioning, and an excellent bath. The room was amazing, with two large doors and windows, so it was not the least claustrophobic, and whitewashed rough stone walls so the structure of the cave was apparent. We enjoyed the swimming pool too. Excellent breakfast. We recommend booking their restaurant for dinner—we really enjoyed our meal. Good food, excellent service, in the former chapel. We loved our visit and strongly recommend it to all.

Loved everything.

The chateau was fantastic and the staff were all wonderful! They were so helpful and friendly and being in a real chateau was a great experience. I had fun exploring around. The pool was nice and there was a lift to our floor which turned out to be critical because my husband hurt his knee and couldn’t do stairs. We also had the dinner there with the wine pairing, which was almost perfect.

My only complaint was with the dinner- and really everything was delicious and beautifully presented with great local wines- but my veal was so tough I couldn’t eat it. I don’t eat veal much, so maybe that isn’t unusual, but I thought veal would be tender. The other main dishes my family had were great, as were the entrees and desserts- I would definitely still recommend having a meal at the chateau, just not the veal.

It is still so hard to believe that you can stay in a historic Chateau, slept in by royalty for just £150! Absolutely nothing about this place disappoints! It is magical! I feared the price may reflect a cheapened or commercial feel - but that was not the case at all - this place oozes luxury. The pool was a delight! Warm, surprisingly quiet (we were often the only people there). The chateau offers poolside drink service starting at €6, which was a wonderful bonus, and a free towel service. This was a special trip for us so we opted to dine in for dinner and breakfast costing an additional €200 food bill (breakfast & dinner in the onsite restaurant. €20 of which was a wine pairing - 3 glasses - great value!) The fine dining menu at €44 for 3 courses felt exceptional value for the setting.

It is almost impossible to find fault here, but I have a very tiny point…that is about breakfast. It didn’t feel as abundant and considered as other areas. I have loved to see more fresh pastries (croissants in particular), some fresh fruit options and alternative options for fresh coffee in addition to just warmed filter. Breakfast is entirely self-serve, so we found ourselves with a table full of dirty plates and no available clean cutlery.

Very clean. Pleasant staff. Beautiful surroundings. Very comfortable bed. Heated pool. Excellent coffee in the room.

Extremely loud alarm Alarm went off 4 times during my one night stay. Had to wait for the alarm to turn itself off. For info. No TV no fridge. No luxury items of decoration in our room. We chose pool view which turned out to be given pool side which meant didn’t stay in the main chateau. Didn’t expect that. The room was pleasant but not as expected.

Breakfast was good value and the château environment superb and a choice of eating inside or on the terrace. Staff members always had a smile and a great start to the day. Only regret we took the cheaper room under the roof. Loved sitting in the courtyard for tea or apéritif.

Lighting in our room. Need of Shower screen and air vent in bathroom. The water pressure was excellent even better than most international 5 * hotels!!! Maybe better use of the adjacent room with wall hooks(thinking of coats)

The Hotel was absolutely charming. It had a fabulous slightly old fashioned atmosphere. Where you felt the staff really cared. The bedroom was amazing with an incredibly comfortable (and huge) bed, with excellent views over the gardens. The swimming pool was excellent slightly warmed so not as to shock. The hotel’s restaurant was delicious, although the menu limited and not suitable for vegetarians. We had an absolutely fabulous trip and will definitely be returning.

The shower could do with a little modernisation.

Lovely Hotel to stay in, the rooms are dated but it is a chateau so totally in keeping with the style of the place. The pool was lovely and refreshing after a day visiting Chateaux in the area. The staff were very helpful and the food was good, a little bit expensive for what you got. A very special and unique place to stay, I would highly recommend if you are in the area and we would stay again if we went back to this area. Thank you for a comfortable stay.
