March 2025

Being in the centre of the small town of Ureshino, we could reach most of the amenities and F&B on foot. Even though the onset was not very big, it was well maintained and was quite well equipped. The water temperature was also good. The breakfast was mainly Japanese style and was good. What stood out was the reception staff. They were very friendly and were extremely helpful, and went the extra mile to help us to find available eateries.

The hotel room was quite basic and bare, and was just big enough for four futons and the low table, and had not much walking space left after we opened our luggage. We also had to layout the futons ourselves. Being a small town, everything closed after 6pm and it was very difficult to find eating places even at 6.30pm during the sakura season. Every eatery we went to did not accept customers even when the earlier customers had left, and not many accept reservations. It is therefore good to reach the town early and go for dinner as early as possible.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at this wonderful hotel, and I must say, it exceeded all of my expectations. Each morning, I enjoyed a traditional yet delicious breakfast that set the tone for a perfect day. The breakfast spread was a delightful mix of authentic local flavors and freshly prepared dishes, truly a treat for the senses. One of the highlights of my stay was the hotel's onsen. Without a doubt, it was the best onsen experience I've ever had. The water was soothing and impeccably maintained, providing the perfect respite after a day of exploring. The outdoor onsen, in particular, offered a unique charm—immersing myself in the warm, mineral-rich waters while taking in the serene natural surroundings was an unforgettable experience. From the impeccable service to the relaxing ambiance, every aspect of my stay was thoughtfully curated to provide a memorable getaway. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking to indulge in a blend of culinary delights and restorative relaxation.

As for the room, it met my expectations overall. While I felt that the room could be cleaner, it was still comfortable and well-appointed, allowing for a restful stay. This minor shortcoming was easily overlooked given the excellent amenities and warm service provided throughout my visit.

We were pleasantly surprised to discover such a modern and grand hotel in the small town of Ureshino, offering a comfortable stay despite the limited activities in the area. The onsen was a standout feature, providing stunning views of the town and exceptional cleanliness. Additionally, breakfast in the elegant hotel ballroom was a delightful experience, with a wide and delicious selection that added to the overall charm of our stay.

The rooms are spacious, though they feel slightly dated compared to the hotel's modern and well-maintained facilities.

The staff greeted us at the door and helped us with our luggage, gave us excellent recommendations for local restaurants and sights. The hotel had a minimal aesthetic, the rooms were large and spacious. Beds comfortable , onsen was clean and relaxing with water machine and Dyson hair dryer. Free coffee and tea was nice.

They were maintaining the elevator but it was well kept and no noise issues. It really wasn’t a negative for us because they had a second lift that was in service at the time. The breakfast was a little expensive but looked delicious , we opted to try a local cafe.

The breakfast is perfect. although there are not too many choices of the dishes, most of the food offered are ureshino dishes, such as the roasted fishes, tofu, 明太子, peach flavor yogurt drink, etc. They taste very nice. And we had roast beef dinner in a restaurant outside the hotel. The onsen on the roof is excellent: good view, hot, and the water is very soft . You will agree with me if you go there. I stayed at a room for 6 (we are a group of 6). The room is spacious enough. The decoration is also new. The price really worth it.

the only thing i have comment on is the water pressure of the shower in the onsen. It is not strong enough.

After a months trip in Korea, China and Japan we came to stay at this hidden diamond. This little Onsen town is one of Japan’s best and this hotel was hyper cool. Incredibly authentic and with amazing staff. We were helped by Kundo which did his very best and this gave us the single best experience of our 1 month family trip. The hotel has a fantastic Japanese spa on the top floor. Kubrick provided us with recommendations to where to eat, what to see and visit. We loved it! Thank you! You have our family great memories!

The onsen baths were amazing - one large indoor, 2 outdoors with 2 additional ceramic tubs, and an expansive view of the surroundings. We booked a traditional room, so had to make our own futons which the kids loved helping to set it up. We were travelling the Kyushu region for the last 12 days, and definitely the best hotel breakfast we have had. It’s an old hotel, but it looks like internal renovations were done. A quaint old world feel.. jazz music was in the lobby and at the bath foyer.

Hotel Sakura Ureshino is a high quality place through and through with attention to detail and beautiful facility. Far exceeded our expectations and was best lodging during our entire trip around Kyushu. Breakfast was outstanding. The natural spring onsen and rotenburo was simply awesome. Staff was friendly and helpful. Highly recommend a stay here if location and budget work. Being on a Shinkansen stop is actually convenient; just takes a bit of time to walk from station but easy and flat ground. We very much enjoyed will go out of our way to return in the future.

This is the second time we stayed at Sakura, after our first visit in April. it is still as wonderful as expected - the staff were helpful, the room was spacious, the onsen was of top quality. In addition, the breakfast was delicious, which provided a variety of local Ureshino food, e.g. the tofu, fried fish, etc. I will recommend Sakura to anyone who would visit Ureshino.

The water pressure of shower at onsen is not strong enough.

This was one of my best stay in Japan. We were being hit by typhoon and the hotel was kind enough to offer the guests free lunch on the typhoon date, given that all restaurants were closed. It’s just curry but it’s the thoughts that matter. We really appreciate that. Both indoor and outdoor onsen were great, and you could enjoy free ice stick at the lounge outside the onsen.

Nothing.
