open air onsen, delicious meals. I luckily saw a hare feeding itself over the lawn in the open air onsen. they serve buffet breakfast and there was Hokkaido milk and musk melon, so nice 😋

many locals go there for onsen, so onsen area can be busy during day time

Beautiful outdoor and indoor onsen (plus sauna), meals (buffet breakfast and kaiseki dinner), beautiful location and nature, extra amenities (beautiful self-service yukata for all sizes).

Not sure how good public transport is - we had a rental car so it's not a problem for us. Also, you need to take off your shoes as soon as you enter the front door - might be an issue for some foreign tourists, but not a big deal for us, and you can actually borrow socks for free.

Wr had private outdoor bathtub in our room. Good view from the outdoor bath and good hot spring. We enjoy the beautiful landscape of asahikawa / biei area and the white world the next day when it started to snow. Good contrast.

Food was a little disappointing as compare with other half board hot spring hotel we stayed in the past at Mount Fuji and echigo yuzawa area.

A beautiful cabin in the woods, watching the heavy snow fall outside while staying warm inside. Sitting on the sofa, sipping tea, and reading a book feels so blissful! The experience of soaking in the hot spring while watching the snowflakes drift down is also truly magical. I really wish I could stay here forever!

The location though was a bit in accessible but the surrounding was very quiet and serene. An ideal location for an onsen ryokan with beautiful scenary which you can enjoy while in the onsen. The dinner provided a authentic experience of a omakase course. it is prepared immaculately by the chef and we eenjoy to our hearts content.

No fuss with the balcony hot tub, it had a constant slow flow of hot water and was always ready to go. It felt strange leaving your shoes in the lobby area (you have to take them off before even getting to the desk), but for a hotel where many guests are out hiking during the day, it was immaculately clean. Several 24hr drink machines to get whatever you are in the mood for, including beer.

Sleeping on a floor mat is not very comfortable for me, but it is 100% as advertised and I knew what I was getting into. However, there was a closet full of extra pillows and comforters to help make it as comfortable as possible. Only one snack machine available with limited options, although food can be purchased from the main shop during daytime hours.

Place was clean. Food ok. There is a cafe on level 2 where you can get dinner. Get the breakfast option with accommodation.

The open air hot spring in the room was good but there were many bugs and insects flying around the outdoor onsen area during the autumn season. So if you are really scared of insects take note.

So many things to like. Great looking property. Comfortable rooms and loved wearing socks around the hotel. Very nice spa facilities. Cool areas for kids. Dinner was very nice and so was breakfast. Would definitely visit again

A bit out of the way but not so bad

It was great, the onsen facilities is OK.. shoulve book the japanese room instead of the cabin, as the cabin is a bit of a walk from main building and a bit scary at night..

It is spacious, and attic is nice.

There was a strong smell upon entering the cottage. Not sure if it’s from cooking by previous occupants. And the bedroom cupboards were outdated and hinges were falling apart. Not very well maintained. WI-FI is a little slow.
