What was once the residence of the Head Chieftain of Galle has been restored to a pristine condition and offers views on all sides on lush greenery. The rooms have beautiful volumes with natural light openings and connections with the lawn on one side and the inner pond on the other. Furniture and design are artfully true to the historical character of the site. Magnificent indoor pond surrounded by the unique inwards facing tiled roof. Service is impeccable from Mr Dinesh at the reception to Chandrakumar at dinner and Mr Lishant for breakfast. Glorious menu doing justice to local ingredients and wines spanning from New Zealand to France. The swimming pool surrounded by flowers and canopy is the perfect chilling spot prior to a happy hour centred around the local spirits. An unmistakable success by Teardrop!

Lovely property in close proximity to Colombo International Airport. 18-room boutique hotel with high-ceiling rooms and fabulous verandas and a nestled-away pool area. The packed breakfast to facilitate our crack-of-dawn getaway was a lovely touch... The staff overall was most accommodating...

A blend of colonial and modern contemporary, this fusion somewhat compromises authenticity. The dinner menu is definitely weighted to meat and fish options but can be modified to suit vegan / vegetarian preferences...

Great location close to the airport. So it seems most people stay here for only 1-2 nights either at the start or end of their holiday (we stayed here at the start and end). The food is excellent (although expensive for Sri Lanka) and the breakfast is superb. There is a lovely pool in a jungle setting. We played croquet and cricket in their garden which was a lot of fun before dinner. The staff arranged for our daughter (age 9) to make a paper lantern with the assistance of two members of staff, which was a lovely touch and means she now has a meaningful souvenir.

It wasn't as quiet as we were expecting. Maybe we were just unlucky. On our first night (a Saturday), there was very loud music from somewhere nearby until 1.43am. We weren't sure whether it was a wedding venue nearby or some kind of party. It was actually very annoying and prevented us from sleeping, which we were desperate to do after a long flight from the UK. When we spoke to staff the following day, they seemed unaware and said there are some houses nearby and maybe the music came from one of those houses. So we never found out the origin. Then, the next night, an alarm in the hotel went off in the dead of night (not sure what time) so we got woken. So, not as quiet and peaceful as we were hoping.

The staff was very friendly and attentive. Quality of the food was on a high standard. Children's menu was available. The beds were comfortable. The gardens and the scenery was amazing. The beds are of.high quality with a mosquito net. The baby cot was actually great. Local fruits and vegetables. It feels like you are home.

The location of the hotel is far from virtually anything. You will need to take a tuktuk or a taxi,to get to most places. No gym available (but okay it's a transit hotel for people going to the airport so it's understandable) although for the price we were paying it could have been expected to be there. The price for the room (around 370 dollars per night) with breakfast included seemed on the high side since the hotel is beautiful but small with no further activities in the area. Not much plugs available in the room and no converters available by default.

Beautiful boutique hotel close to the airport (but you’d never know). They had a fairly extensive menu considering this is not a big property and it was delicious. The staff were exceptional and we loved our stay of three nights here. They had complimentary afternoon tea and drinks every afternoon which was a fabulous touch, which you took on the veranda. The kids played croquet on the lawn while we’d have a G&T and then return for a board game with us. Couldn’t have been more perfect.

Beautiful hotel, amazing staff - an absolute pleasure from beginning to end Staff were fantastic from the second I booked with their communication right until I left. Had issues with my luggage being lost by the airline & the 2 managers and reception staff chased them constantly for me until I got my luggage literally minutes before I left for my next hotel (I only stayed here 1 night). I highly recommend this as an airport hotel as it is only 15 minutes from Colombo airport & a great first or last night option. Its so gorgeous & green & peaceful & the hotel organised a cute boat trip for my 1 day there. I will come back anytime I come to Sri Lanka for sure. Thank you 🙏🏾

There is nothing not to like

Absolutely beautiful place with incredibly kind staff and manager. A real haven for relaxation and brilliantly close to the airport yet so peaceful. We loved our tour of the vegetable gardens, the amazing pool and the children loved the kite making. The food was also delicious and all of the people working there were wonderful. We loved it and would love to come back, thank you for a wonderful stay!

Beautiful property and gardens with an old colonial feel. It was a shame we could only stay one night. The breakfast was exceptionally excellent and the staff in the restaurant very friendly.

The room was a bit small, but they obviously have to work with the structure they had. More thought could have been given to the lushness of the planting around the room terrace, which looked a bit sad with a couple of chairs and a table in the middle. of a bare space.

It was a nice stay and a great way to end my trip in Sri Lanka before heading to the airport. The atmosphere was nice and relaxing. The staff were very friendly. The spa facilities and services were amazing. I will definitely book it again in my next trip.

I just wish there was a pathway to go for a walk within the hotel. Otherwise everything else is nice.

Fourth time there and I can't wait to return. The hotel is amazing! We love averything about it, huge rooms beautifully appointed, enormous bathrooms. Colonial feel, I strongly recommend the SPA, the restaurant (delicious Sri Lankan currys), lovely breakfasts and amazingly beautiful pool. All the staff is lovely and very professional. It's luxury in all its simplicity.
