Nice hotel, friendly stuff, Breakfast and dinner with good variety. We especially liked the very nicely designed children's playroom :) Location is also very good, easy to reach from the mainroad with parking possibilities, but no real noise to be heard in the room. New and nice SPA area on the top floor with sauna and jacuzzi.

Not much. For us the blinking smoke detectors were annoying like unfortunately in so many other hotels as well... Beds could maybe be a bit more comfortable

It was a bit too warm in the room, no slippers, the spa was a bit too small but there were not so many people at the hotel so it wasnt a problem. Except for that everything else was perfect!

Hotel Sopron is excellently located on the border with Austria, about a 15-minute drive from Family Park. This hotel is especially family-friendly, offering a variety of facilities and services tailored for children, including a playroom, swimming pool, and a playground with exciting equipment.The service at the hotel is excellent, with the entire staff dedicated to providing a pleasant and welcoming experience. Very nice hotel, great playroom for small children, and in general very childfriendly. Also great location, and very rich breakfast and dinner. I really recommend this hotel for families and I hope we will back during summer to try the outside pool too.

Everything was perfect so we cannot really complain. Perhaps two small things we didnt like: the rooms were very hot during the night and we could not control the heating. Also at breakfast, they did not re-set the tables, so if we arrived later (but still at breakfast time) we had to ask the waiter to re-set, and wait and there were no extra glasses and cups for self-service so we always had to chase a waiter to bring us extra glass, cup each time we needed one.

We had an absolutely wonderful time at Hotel Sopron over the last week! The hotel turned out to be just the perfect place to relax and get away from the troubles of the world. Located very close to the historical downtown of Sopron (literally 5 minutes walk), the hotel features an outdoor swimming pool and a "Sky Wellness", referring to a 6-person indoor jacuzzi with panoramic views of the city, and 3 types of sauna. The outside swimming pool is spacious and not very deep, although was barely used during the sunny hours of the heatwave that was going on. Shockingly, we also found the jacuzzi mostly empty during the day, and had a great time there, enjoying the view! (This was in the middle of July, no clue why people did not use the jacuzzi more. It only got full after 7-8pm, when people came to enjoy the view of the sunset.) We had a room with a balcony and twin beds. The room was clean and frequent cleaning services were also available. The bathroom was modern, not too big, but great to use overall. The flat screen TV with smart features and a ton of German channels just added to our fun and relaxation (waking up each morning to 3sat's "View of the Alps" weather report is truly an experience, puts you into a relaxed mood in just a few minutes. :D ) The room also had a minibar which may be used as a fridge. We also opted for breakfast and dinner, both offered as self-service within the hotel's restaurant, featuring a great choice of dishes / ingredients at each occasion. The chef took care to offer a form of fish, chicken, vegs, and pork/beef dish for each dinner (by request, we could get gluten free buns for breakfast too, at no extra charge). Service (and generally the staff in the hotel) is very professional, kind, and helpful, as you would expect of a 4-star hotel. I also really liked that we could just include anything we consumed at the bar, in the room bill, and pay for all at checkout.

Parking is out in the sun, with barely any trees, at 2k HUF per day. I opted for the Arpad street parking garage for 2.4k HUF per 24 hours instead, just to prevent the car from being exposed to 36 degrees and any storms. The jacuzzi can hold 6 people, which is exactly 1.5 families. Other guests are generally friendly, but the size of the jacuzzi is probably still too small for a hotel like this. (Unless you can find it empty as we did during most days. :) ) You have to pay for some minor things, like coffee capsules, tea, etc. It is 400 HUF per capsule, but exactly because of this, it may be a nice touch to just include this extra service in the price of the room, since a coffee machine is already provided.

The hotel seems recently renovated and the furnishings look new. We didn't have time to enjoy the breakfast because we had to leave early. Parking lot is big but somehow I feel a lot of the locals park their cars at night in the hotel parking lot. The saunas are pretty nice and they work properly. Especially the steam sauna gets super hot, which in many places I've seen it lacking, but here it works very well.

The rooms could've been bigger. We've booked what seemed by name to be bigger, but in fact it was a regular size hotel room. Do yourself a favor and don't take the standard room, I can only assume that those are even smaller.

Beautiful location on top of the hill with a great view over Sopron. Nice staff. We had breakfast and dinner included, was really good! Nice spa and wellness area. The view from the jacuzzi is a dream!

The breakfast and evening meal were buffet style and adequate. On the second evening we had tickets for a concert at the Musikverein in Vienna and were arriving back at the hotel late. We informed reception to save them preparing an evening meal for us and they arranged for a very plentiful cold platter to be left in our room. The outdoor swimming pool was excellent as was the spa on the 3rd floor with jacuzzi, sauna and steam room and the spa has a great view over the old town. The hotel is approx 25 mins walk from the railway station, which we walked as we had very little luggage, but most people would drive or get a taxi. The hotel has a car park and backs on to the by pass, so car access appeared to be good, although we did not use this. Sopron is a lovely friendly town that appears very safe.

We were originally placed in room 325 which was apparently the only refurbished room in our price bracket but this was next to the ventilation vent and was noisy. However, when we informed reception they immediately moved us to an older but very comfortable and much quieter room.
