What a wonderful surprise. We travel to WA several times a year and usually stay in Hood River to break up the trip. This time Hood River was just too expensive so I looked for alternatives and found Boardman. Price was right so I took a chance. I’m so glad I did! Right on the Columbia River, clean and fresh. Great staff and tasty food at the in-house restaurant!

If you’re new to the Columbia gorge you should be prepared for high winds in most places and Boardman is typical! Bring your windbreaker or sit inside and watch the pelicans and the occasional riverboat.

I loved that it had an authentic sauna and a swimming pool that had a view of the river.

The pool was a little small, but it worked for us because we were the only ones in the pool when we swam. The worker who checked us in acted like I had only booked one room at first until I had her check again. Then she made me give another member’s name for the second room, which I thought was odd. We had a hard time understanding each other, but she was trying.

The location is really nice. We enjoyed the walkway along the river. It is very quiet here. The restaurant had delicious food. The room was comfortable.

It would be nice if there was a continental breakfast and coffee in the morning without an additional charge. The rate seemed adequate to add this feature. Love the restaurant, the view and the food was great. It was a bit of a distraction that one of the workers was mopping half of the space with a cleaner. It was prime dinner hour and although it was not crowded, we could still smell the cleaner.

It was quiet. I am sad that I only I only saw the River Lodge at night and not during the daytime. The guy who checked me out in the morning was very professional.

I wish there was more lighted signage at night that directed a guest to the hotel. I got confused. It was like apartments and then another building and then River Lodge. The woman who checked me in applied lip gloss at the desk. But she was nice, and she got me a quiet room like I asked.

The hotel is nicely located at the Columbia river. Restaurant Staff was excellent in improvising a water outage of the city. Everybody in the hotel who wanted dinner had a choice from a smaller selection of the menue. Congrats to such improvising. The rooms were good, view on the river, comfy and water was back later in the evening.

This hotel was beautiful. The location the facility the people and the Resturant were outstanding. The rooms were awesome and overall experience was just wonderful. We were starting our 14 day motorcycle roadtrip and it was a great start… Thank you

The Receptionist at check in was fantastic, as there was a problem with our booking. The room we had booked wasn't available but she sorted it all out swiftly (on 4th July) and also let us know where the Boardman 4th July festival and fireworks were located. The room with a view to Columbia River was a bonus, as was viewing the fireworks from the hotel terrace.

Beautiful, modern hotel in well-manicured grounds on bank of the river (lake). Large, luxurious en-suite bedroom, very quiet. Lovely foyer decorated with wall rugs.

Access road given by SatNav to hotel closed for roadworks: would have been helpful if the hotel had informed us of alternative road prior to our stay. Dinner was not good value for money: we are British and my friend ate a meat dish which was poor quality meat in bread crumbs.

I loved how gorgeous and clean the hotel and entire property was. It’s located right off the highway and easy to find. Felt very safe. Lots of free safe parking. All the staff were extremely nice & welcoming. Very easy check in. Impressive GORGEOUS lobby .

There was NO free continental breakfast and the coffee in the rooms was awful.

The river view on one side is gorgeous, there is a beautiful park behind the parking area on the other side, the restaurant is good, the hotel is beautiful and the rooms are clean, spacious, well appointed and pretty, it was quiet enough and the bed was comfortable.

The lounge closed too early-8:30 p.m. but it was Sunday before the holiday.
