Comfortable bed, great complimentary breakfast, exquisite decor in a French farmhouse style, private gardens in the lovely town of Oaklands, this is one of the best places we have stayed at. There are five chickens including a rooster called Dexter who has a great personality and is a very pretty bird!

It is the cutest place ever. Well furnished, everything you need included. The bed was soooo comfy. Nice wknd getaway place

Checking in and checking out was abit confusing. Said I'd be able to check in at her store next door and had closed it already (we weren't late either) and then said we could check out at the store as well at 11, but the store doesn't open till 11:30. It wasn't well organised to be honest.

Very good breakfast ingredients and available ingredients for evening meal.much appreciated as no eateries open on a Tuesday night. Beautiful garden to sit out in for meals

I agree with previous guests that the enormous array of greenery on dining table meant you really couldn’t use it for dining. It would be better to just have a small vase of flowers or nothing at all. Added to this was another large arrangement of dried flowers at the window in the bedroom, covered in cobwebs and dust. Not good for allergy sufferers and it also obscured what would be a lovely outlook to the garden. Get rid of both of these and the place would be perfect.

The French provincial furnishings were delightful. The bed linen was wonderful to sleep in. The garden was beautiful and it was lovely to sit out there in the afternoon reading and watching the chooks. Provisions for breakfast, etc were very thoughtful.

The large containers of fresh foliage looked wonderful but the flat tops of the chest and table would have been more useful to us (for chargers, small bags, books etc.)

A lot of effort has been made to recreate an authentic French Provincial cottage in Oatlands. Lovely gardens, very good facilities a wonderful getaway for a short stay. Thoughtful provisioning provides everything you need for a comfortable stay.

As we were travelling longer than a weekend getaway we had big suitcases and the stone driveway and paths were no good for suitcases.

We made a last minute reservation at this property and we are so glad we did. This fabulous ‘barn’ exceeded our expectation’s and Rhona was so accomodating. We also met the very helpful Jenny from the lovely shop next door. Do yourself a favour and book this accomodation immediately!

There was nothing not to like!

A gorgeous and very stylish 'barn' accommodation with delicious breakfast (self-cook) choices and an array of food/drink choices to purchase. The surrounding garden was stunning and we loved the chooks.

Nothing - it was all just lovely

The barn and surrounding gardens were stunning. We decided to stay here as a halfway point between Hobart and Cradle Mountain and we were so glad that we did. The decor was beautiful and there was such a great attention to detail with comfort in mind. The provided toiletries were good quality and the complimentary breakfast supplies were great, there was even fresh herbs picked from the garden and additional mini bar items available if needed. Would recommend highly to anyone and will definitely stay again if we are in the area.

The aircon was in the bedroom and the little heater for the lounge area was a bit temperamental. We were comfortable though as the small space warmed up quickly and there was an electric blanket on the bed.

We had a magnificent stay at the Elm cottage. it is beautifully appointed nest in a secret garden. We greatly appreciated the lovely produce available to make a simple and delicious pasta dinner. This hearty space significantly added to our experience of Oatlands.

What an absolute gem and delight. Among the myriad things to like were the attention to details in everything from the decor and appointments to food options provided and the access to a wonderful kitchen garden all in a delightful private setting. The perfect place to relax and unwind. Such a pity we could only enjoy it for one night.

Absolutely nothing to dislike.
