It was obvious they were in the middle of remodeling but don't let that stop you. We were given a newly remodeled room that was one of the most beautiful and comfortable rooms we've ever stayed in at a hotel, and we have stayed in many over the years. Just ask for a newly remodeled room (#110 was the room we stayed in), and I'm sure they will accommodate and I promise you will not regret your choice. Friendly and professional service was our greeting. Can't wait to see the completed remodel of the entire property. I just wish we had taken pictures. Actually the rooms are better than their photos show online. You have to see to appreciate.

If you can look past the appearance of the outside for now, I'm sure you will enjoy your stay here. Obviously they have decided to start with the customers rooms first. A good decision.

The owner at the front desk was very nice and welcoming. The room was exceptionally clean and was recently renovated. Everything was very modernized and beautiful. Thee bed was very comfortable. Eating places within walking distance. Has laundromat, bbq area, ice machine, microwave, mini fridge and coffee maker. loved the lighting in the room and the light up bathroom sink faucet was awesome. Loved you can see your car in the parking lot and very well lite up at night.

There is Not one thing we did not like about this room and staff. We will stay there again when we travel that way. Was very pleasantly surprised on the cleanliness and beauty of the room and the friendly welcoming. We have not one thing to say negatively about this Hotel.

This is a privately owned hotel, not a chain. It is recently renovated. It is not a luxury hotel. However, it is clean, well cleaned by staff, managed by friendly owners. It has everything a traveler needs, and is comfortable. My husband and I have severe allergies. The "nice" hotels now are pet friendly, have highly scented liquid soaps, and because they have no pet-free rooms, heavy sprays and scented cleansers are used. The High Country Inn is clean, has pet-free rooms, is not cleaned with heavily fragranced cleansers, and is extremely comfortable in a lovely and scenic small town.

What a wonderful hotel! The location on the outside of Desert Hot Springs is perfect, quiet and in a safe neighbourhood. The hotel itself is a small boutique hotel with beautifully designed, spacious and comfortable rooms centered around a mineral spring swimming pool (quite large and no need for chlorine) as well as a mineral water hot tub. Perfect after a long day of driving! This is a little oasis in the desert and I would love to come back again one day and stay for a few more relaxing days!

There was nothing missing from this hotel. Some people might not like the fact that there is no attached restaurant, but there is a communal kitchen (and a lovely outdoor space in the back). We loved everything about this lovely hotel and can totally recommend it!

The High Desert Inn is a clean, well managed property. The owners provide those small details to make folks comfortable: crisp linen, soft towels, good coffee, microwave and fridge. The baseboard heater is silent, a welcome respite from the usual noisy wall unit. The shower was hot with good pressure. This is a dog friendly facility complete with a doggie dump area with clean up tools. Just be sure to declare your pet. Local restaurants are a short walk away in the middle of town.

Nothing to dislike!

The front desk clerk was very friendly and from Portland like me! I was given a choice between first and second floor, ice machine was always stocked full, microwave and mini fridge in room, plenty of plug-ins next to the bed, and besides a slight fight from the neighbors it was quiet. Very small town but a lot of cool little shops, diners, and a dollar store. Great views of the desert mountains, a smoking area, and it was very clean and just basic enough for anyone needing a night’s rest without having to suffer from poor amenities to afford a comfortable night’s sleep and not need anything fancy.

Thin walls, but with good neighbors you’ll not even notice. The temperature of the shower is also VERY touchy but once you find the sweet spot there was plenty of hot water for a nice relaxing shower.

We loved the cleanness colors, the shower, the lighting, refrigerator accommodated all our food because we were passing by to get to our destination The design of the room When you drive into this place you cannot imagine what the other side of the room is going to be! And to our surprise was completely what we were not expecting!

That they could have some kind of curtains so I didn’t have to put the blackout the whole entire time! I loved the blackout but will be nice to have an option to see out whiteout been seeing but still having natural light

I liked everything about my stay at High Desert Inn. This is a family owned and operated hotel. The owner is very friendly, the place is well lit, exceptionally clean. It is very well maintained, the sheets are nice and white, coffee was good. They also have a sheet in the room with places to eat and attractions nearby. I travel with my family in December from CA to KS, this is my first time going through I70, and it will definitely not be my last. I look forward to visiting this place again soon. One thing I may suggest, check in early if it’s cold, the heaters are old school but cool because they don’t make noise, but it take a bit to warm up the room. Overall my kids gave this place a 10/10, I give it a 10/10 this is my honest review. Thank you High Desert for a wonderful experience.

There was nothing I disliked.

The room, though plain, was well-organized and exceptionally clean. As it was a rather hot evening when I arrived, it took the air conditioner a few hours to cool the room down, but once the room was cooled, the room remained cool throughout my stay. The facility seemed safe, and the ice maker was readily accessible throughout the three days I spent there. There was plenty of hot water for showers and plenty of available outdoor areas for my dog. When I checked-out, I inadvertently left my computer power supply in the room. When I messaged the management at the hotel, my computer power supply was placed into a padded envelope and quickly sent back to me.

The first evening, a large group of very loud individuals (about 8 people) remained perched on chairs, on the very narrow walkway outside of their rooms, making a considerable amount of noise until nearly midnight.

We had a good stay at the High Desert Inn. The room was clean and tidy, and had everything we needed at a very reasonable price. We had dinner at the historic "Mom's Diner" around the corner, which was fun. Our stay was just one night, so we were out early the next morning. I would definitely recommend the High Desert Inn if you're looking for a clean, well managed motel.
