The Albergue was centrally located on the Camino de Santiago route in the Old Town area of Padron. The man who checked us in was very nice and helpful. We had a private room, which was clean and big and had a good storage unit for luggage. The bathroom was very nice.
We arrived on foot, and the first door (right by the sign labeling the place) was not a door that was used. We were hot and tired and couldn't figure out how to get in. A person on the street directed us to the opposite side of the building. Something to direct you to the proper entry would be helpful for weary travelers.

Extremely clean hostel, right on the Camino! Great shower facilities, and lockers for bag storage. Staff were fantastic and keen to help in any way they could. Fresh fitted sheet for the bed was provided, and staff even helped to put it on the mattress. Blankets were also available on request. However, no additional sheets were provided to use under the blanket but over your body. I would recommend bringing a sleeping bag. There are kitchen facilities, but very small. No hob, but there is an oven and glass dishes that can be used for the oven. Also plates, bowls, cutlery, etc available. Laundry facilities available too.

If there is a church that best represents the history of the Camino de Santiago after the Cathedral, it is the church of Santiago located in Padrón. Albergue Murgadán is well-located opposite this famous church (Iglesia de Santiago Apóstol de Padrón) in the centre of town. Raul, who manages the place, is very friendly, efficient and runs a tight ship, making sure the property is clean and properly equipped. He's the only person on the Camino who helped make our beds (even climbing the bunk beds to do so). Such wonderful service! Many thanks, Raul!

30-bed mixed dorm: Very strong construction of bunks with privacy curtain, own light and own power outlet. Top bunk is higher than usual bunks and this makes the bed areas spacious. The guy who checked us in kindly helped to make up a couple of the beds up on top (bottom sheet and pillow case provided. He also gave me a blanket). There are medium sized lockers in the room that you need €1 to lock (but when you return the key it refunds your euro), or you can use it without locking it. Seperate mens and women's bathrooms. Womens had 2 toilets, 3 showers and 2 hand basins. There was a washer and dryer (extra cost) and towels can be hired. Great location as the camino goes past the front door (when you first see the huge signage on the side of the building, go just past this around the corner and you'll see a sign saying reception). Bunkroom was quiet through the night. Kitchen had fridge and microwave and a vending machine. Wifi worked well.
There is no private dry space to change after getting out of shower (this is a common design through Spain). No lounge area but you can sit at the dining tables.

I was staying there during the black out and I want to thank the kind man at reception. He helped me find the last open supermarket to buy food since all the restaurants closed. Great guy! He made sure we were all comfortable and even made my bed for me which no other albergues I’ve been to before have done. I would recommend staying here!

Very well appointed hostel in excellent location.
Both I and my partner have hidden disabilities. With just three people in front of us, I explained we both needed bottom bunks. However, the proprietor was very unsupportive. Comparing us to everyone else who simply had a dislike of upper bunks. I had to insist for sometime before he eventually relented. In my view this proprietor does not understand the challenges faced by disabled people. He would benefit from a training and awareness programme if he is to offer a welcoming environment for everyone.

The place is just what you see on the website - clean, great shower, comfortable bed and excellent service at the reception. It was quite busy the night we stayed. After walking all day in the rain everybody turned up to albergue wet, cold and grumpy, but the guy at the reception was ready to help everyone in the way they needed. Im not sure how many languages he speaks, but he was fluent wit everyone who came in:) Great place and amazing service. Suggestion for the wet season- facility to dry shoes. They have this big cupboard for shoes outside sleeping rooms, so maybe it could be ventilated or something like that. But that is just suggestion, it is rear to have this sort of thing in any place. I know they are striving for perfections, hence that is a suggestion for improvement. Thanks.

After a long and tiring day of walking, Raul quickly assisted with my check-in at the hostel, making the process smooth and effortless. He thoroughly explained all the facilities and even recommended a great place for my final stay in Santiago. His exceptional customer service truly made a difference!
Everything was good

We chose this albergue for its location on the Camino and because it had private rooms. It was an excellent choice! The staff person was very helpful and kind. The room was modern, clean, and comfortable. We thought it might be loud given that it was off the main communal room, but it actually was very quiet. I would recommend this albergue to anyone who wants to stay at an albergue, but still wants a private room and bath. Many thanks to the staff.

The whole place was very clean, the bed was comfortable, and the host was amazing - friendly, professionally, and super helpful. Location is ideal with a café right behind it, and other good spots including a Mexican restaurant 5 mins away. The historical cathedral de santiago de Pedro (?) just 5 mins away as well. Front doors open into the camino. Highly recommend!
