I had a great time at Hotel San Felipe. I like the room especially the bathroom. Nice and friendly staff always ready to help you.

Breakfast was not included in the price. I felt safe walking around Casco Viejo but make sure you ask which direction to go because there is a part of Casco viejo that it is not safe.

Central location enabling an easy walk around old town in 24 hours. Staff excellent, arranging taxis from Marina and to airport, allowed a slightly later checkout. Good beds!

Lots of noise from road at front of hotel late evening. If might disturb you request a room at back?

We stayed at Hotel San Felipe for four nights and had a fantastic experience overall. The room was spacious, clean, and neatly maintained throughout the stay. I especially loved the balcony — it was the perfect spot to enjoy a morning coffee. The bathroom was also spotless, featuring a large shower with consistently hot water and great water pressure. The bed was big and extremely comfortable, and the air conditioning kept the room nice and cool. The staff and cleaners were all very friendly and welcoming, which really added to the warm atmosphere of the place. Another highlight was the restaurant across the road, which is part of the hotel. It has a great rooftop area that we enjoyed in the evenings. The location is ideal — just a short walk to all the main restaurants and bars in Casco Viejo. Overall, I’d definitely recommend this hotel for anyone looking to stay in the heart of the action with comfort and great service.

The only thing to be aware of is that it can get a little noisy at night due to outside traffic and nightlife, but that’s somewhat expected in a lively area like this.

Wonderful new hotel in the middle of Casco Viejo. Brand new amenities, large rooms and bathrooms, and very clean all around. The area of Casco is quite loud at night but this hotel was somehow so quiet amidst all the madness. So if you want to be in the middle of all the fun, bars, restaurants, but want to sleep like a baby still - look no further! Will definitely stay here again when we return.

Stayed in San Felipe 16-22 March and found the hotel well located, clean and bright with a friendly staff. Room was large and reasonably appointed while bathroom was very large very well-appointed with big fluffy towels and great shower and water pressure. Small balcony was enjoyable.

Bed was a bit funky, making strange sounds when either of us moved. Only problem was a charge for a coffee spill on the bed sheets: charge was $125 for cleaning. A bit much! Other problem was Bookings.com added $83 in vat which I understood to be included in the rate. I complained but San Felipe showed me the invoice from Bookings including commission (extortionate!) and indeed vat had been added. I complained vigorously to Bookings, but so far received only the run round (the fine print says they can do this). So, buyer beware - the price agreed may not be the price charged. Best book directly; San Felipe manager offered us an extra discount for direct bookings.

I stayed in the old building and it was very lovely. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful with whatever question I had and upgraded my room when I arrived. The room is quite large with the balcony, but quiet even though it faced the street. There’s no pool on the property, but we had no issue with that because we were there for a wedding and we’re not planning on hanging around the pool during our stay.

They’re a couple of very minor things that could be improved upon. Not enough hooks in the bathroom to hang your towel when you’re showering, or a place to hang the hand , an extra trashcan by the desk would’ve been helpful, there was only one in the bathroom. The room I was in was very difficult to control the air conditioner to a comfortable temperature. There were times when the marble floor was completely covered with moisture and my daughter and I had to be careful not to slip. The AC fan was very noisy and was running all night to maintain a reasonable temp. With the humidity, we couldn’t turn it off without overheating ourselves. As a person in construction, I think one of the problems is that the ducts are too small for the volume of air is trying to push through.

The property was amazing! Very clean and always smelled amazing. The staff was very welcoming and friendly, really enjoyed speaking to them and getting to know Panamá and what it is like in Casco Viejo. The rooftop bar was very lovely, great view and the staff always greeted us with a smile. Our room was fantastic, very clean and the bed was comfortable and the balcony was a lovely area to sit and watch people go by. Thank you so much to the friendly and amazing staff for making our first visit to Panama incredible and for your recommendations.

Only one thing we didn’t like was the noise from the street from our room. It can be very noisy at night with cars driving by and honking. Other than that, everything else was fantastic!

The AC was out during our stay and they put us in another hotel in their group and it was great. We walked over and in this hotel and it was lovely. The rooms all looked super nice and updated with enough room for you and your stuff. We greatly appreciate how they treated us with switching hotels and offering us free breakfast.

Office staff were very helpful and pleasant. I liked the overall feel and style of the building itself interior and exterior. Bed was comfortable.

Only had one negative encounter with restaurant staff who seemed unfriendly. A relatively minor problem for me was the step entry way to the building which had an uneven surface; unexpected/odd step...which would be a tripping hazard for some. Although I see that in many buildings around Panama City it would be unusual for the United States. Once I knew to expect it (anywhere in town) I could accommodate for it. I'm not sure what the hotel could do to lessen that risk.

The hotel offers modern, spacious rooms that are exceptionally clean and well-maintained. The overall atmosphere felt fresh and welcoming. The staff were a highlight of our stay—friendly, professional, and fluent in English, which made communication smooth and easy.

Our room had two very small roof windows with blinds that were difficult to reach, even for a tall person, making the room quite dark. The bathroom had glass doors with a noticeable gap of around 1 cm between the door and its frame, which compromised privacy. Breakfast was served à la carte in the restaurant, and while the menu selection was decent, the dishes themselves were quite average in taste.
