Exceptional view with clean and beautiful pool looking at the sea, beach and the mountains. Very polite and helpful staff with nice breakfast. Drinks were served by the pool which gave it a very comfortable and enjoyable environment and experience.

The room was very dark and the fridge didn't really keep food and drinks cold. There was a very steep hill down to the beach, restaurants etc which made it very hard to get back on foot. The last bus from town back to the hotel was around 7pm which was a little bit too early as because of the scorching weather we could not go anywhere until 5pm.

The hotel sits a little above the main part of town so it is quiet and has a spectacular view of the coastline. It is still walkable into town or also an easy drive. Parking was in a small lot or on the street and was never a problem. The staff was very helpful and gave us great recommendations on tour companies and restaurants. When we stayed in May, the hotel's restaurant was closed for lunch and dinner, but the breakfast was plentiful and sitting on the terrace was lovely. Very clean and comfortable rooms. We also had a balcony with a panoramic view.

If you are driving, pay attention to the directions that the hotel kindly sent before hand. GPS likes to direct you on a very steep and precarious road down the mountainside. It does take you directly to the hotel, but the hotel's recommended route is much safer!

The amazing sea views and lovely pool for cooling down at end of the days travels and walk up the hill, we enjoyed but not for the faint hearted in the heat. Comfy bed, large room and great shower with balcony overlooking the pool and that wonderful view. Family run hotel so staff were very helpful especially front of house, loved the early evening access to the bar and outside deck overlooking the view as well

You need a car or be prepared for an uphill walk back to the hotel from the marina and town (which we did when we couldn’t be bothered driving and it was quite nice after a big meal). When it is windy (which is often) the pool umbrellas have to be put down which can make it very hot as there is little shade. It was so hot one night the hotel aircon broke down which made it quite uncomfortable. Chose this hotel as we wanted a pool - in the Sardinian summer heat you need one. If this hotel was closer to the centre of town it would be perfect.

I have nothing good to say about "Villa Gustui Maris" - everything has already been stated. But the hotel is not only so special because of the unbeatable view and the well-kept pool, it is the team that makes our stay unforgettable. Paola and her "family" pay attention to every little thing to make the guests pampered 24 hours a day. This is what makes Hotel Villa Gustui Maris unique. Thousand kisses to Paola!

Who is complaining about the breakfast should look at his own morning table at home!

We had a lovely sea-view room with a small balcony. The room was spacious and comfortable. The breakfast was excellent and it was a treat that the kitchen would make fresh eggs. The pool is excellent and there are lots of lounge chairs. It's about a 10-15 min walk down the hill into town for dinner where there are numerous excellent restaurants. The hotel staff were super friendly and a great resource for where to eat, as well as what to do and see in the area. Parking is easy.

We had a great stay, there's nothing I'd change.

We had a first floor view over the bay which was terrific. Would highly recommend 218 if available and affordable. Staff were great and attentive. Will organise your tours for you.

The brilliant views come with a downside, the climb up the hill from the town but not too bad, maybe drive if you not very mobile and have a car. Parking ok at night, free after 8. We didnt see any taxis.

This hotel is a perfect place to stay for your visit to Cala Gonone. It is located somewhat above the city center and has beautiful views of the coastline, sea and city. The pool and loungers were wonderful and we appreciated the pool towels. Breakfast was also nice and we were able to eat outside on the terrace- we did not eat dinner in the restaurant but the terrace would've provided lovely views. We appreciated that the hotel provided us with several companies they recommended for booking boat excursions with. The walk down into city for dinner took about 12 minutes. The walk back up to the hotel is certainly more strenuous as the terrain is fairly steep- we did walk back up one evening in about 15 minutes, but found that parking was not an issue in the city center and found it easier to drive and park for dinner the 2nd evening.

I recommend driving into Cala Gonone on the main SP26. Our maps had us come into town on a one-lane, two-way road that was a little more stressful than the SP26 we took when leaving!

Location, staff and views exceptional. A short walk from town means you can burn off the calories from dinner but you will sweat a lot! Pool great for a dip and can't believe you will find better views in the town.

Nothing. Restaurant and bar in hotel, only downside for some would be the walk into town. Take your time and it's an easy walk.
