Very interesting place to stay inside a fort. In principle it is a convenient small hotel (maybe even too luxury). The room was very nice and well heated in winter. Bathroom very clean and surprisingly convenient for a place like this. It’s easy to park at the parking lot close to the road. Breakfast was very good. There’s no WiFi and weak signal of GSM inside, but it’s hard to say if that’s good or bad:-) The road to reach the place is narrow and pedestrians and bikers will have the feeling the road is for them and not for you, but it’s just a short distance.

Great place to stay - very unusual as it is former fortifications. We had two levels in our room - the lower one with sleeping beds and the upper one with kitchenette, dining table and spacious living room with beautiful view from huge window. When we told our hosts that we are leaving very early in the morning, they brought us breakfasts in the evening - that was very nice and thoughtful, thanks a lot!

Keep in mind that only microwave oven is available in the kitchen - for us that was a bit difficult, but the place itself was beautiful, so it is definitely worth to stay!

Very unique location, beautiful conversion of an existing Fort. It's very good value for money, considering how spacious & that a good spread of breakfast is included. We enjoyed the information & activities suggested on their website too. We did a little walk around the fort after breakfast, very enjoyable Lots of attention to detail ❤️

The property could be aired out a little before our arrival.

This place is a hidden gem. I would give 10 stars if I could. It is stunning The room was so comfortable and warm. Facilities - everything you could need! Breakfast - excellent The host was very warm and welcoming. ❤️

There was nothing not to like

We stayed in the old "Gun Powder" room...if only the walls could talk! Amazing hotel with soo much history. We had a bicycle repair need and the hosts set us up with a local bike shop for the next day, which was fantastic customer service and much appreciated. A couple of cold beers in the evening on the patio made our overnight a great experience. We will return!

Everything is lovely with the fort, and the owners are lovely. Only 30 min from Efteling theme park and other towns nearby. This was our second stay here and we will definitely stay again.

Historical site with very clean and comfortable ground floor room and bathroom (bathtub + shower). Windows and glass door have shutters for privacy. Fridge mini-bar w reasonably priced cold beverages. Kettle for hot tea/coffee. Friendly owners. Copious breakfast.

Lovely spacious room on two floors, with all amenities and comfy beds. Sleeping and living areas well separated. Beautiful and quiet surroundings. Ideal for families or large groups. Great breakfast.

The kitchen doesn't have a stove. The room was clean, albeit not thoroughly. We were 4 and missed a couple of large towels.

An unbelievably unusual place to stay! The room was lovely and cool on a very hot day. Everything was clean and in excellent order. A generous breakfast and a safe place to store bicycles was provided.

The downstairs room we were in lacked a bit of privacy due to the unique construction of the doors and windows. Not a big problem but may have been improved with the option of net curtains or something nicer that gives a bit of screening.

Very quiet, rural location. Welcoming owners. Good breakfast. Hammocks and tables and chairs outside. Food available during the day. Unusual experience of sleeping in a bunker. Sleek, modern bathroom. Kettle and tea/coffee in the room.

It can feel a bit oppressive being in a bedroom with no natural light. And there were a few signs of doubtful electrics (eg a broken light switch).
