Such a lovely Italian hostess, Lilla. She gave us a warm welcome, took us to our room, and explained everything. We had a fan, ac and a window that actually opened.! Lilla services the rooms daily, with fresh towels. She provides a very affordable laundry service and there is a cute cafe downstairs.

It was all very basic but a caring experience. Showers in budget places are a bit hit and miss, but quite manageable . The door could use a curtain - the light from the outside terrace was VERY bright. We ended up hanging a towel over tbe door. We left feeling cared for, something we havent encountered much in mexico so far. ( italian maybe? 😃)

The staff were very friendly and helpful. Lovely people. The room is an older, traditional Mexican style. It is very functional with everything a traveler needs, but not fancy, if you are looking for that. 15-17 minute walk to Akumal Beach and another 15 minutes to Half Moon Bay. Very easy access to the Collectivo up and down Highway 307 to Playa del Carmen, Tulum, and area sites.

The bed initially felt comfortable. After settling in to sleep, it was a little soft for me, but that is a personal preference. Breakfast is coffee/tea with toast and banana slices. Occasionally, you could hear a dog barking or people talking outside. Again, this is Mexican culture. When it was time to sleep, everything was quiet.

Marco was an exceptional host - he's happy to do anything to help. We only spent 2 days here but he got us in to swim with turtles with his friend Sergio (who is also fantastic), made us delicious Italian pasta, and helped us out with water and cutlery so that we could make our own meals to save a little money.

On the second night there was a celebration over the road which went on with extremely loud music until 5am. Nothing to do with the hotel but we got very little sleep.

Marco and Lele were fantastic hosts. So nice and welcoming and always up for giving advice and helping us navigate the local area. The breakfasts were simple but very good value for money. The cappuccinos were particularly great. The location is fantastic, just a 20 min walk from Akumal beach. The room was a bit basic, but had all you needed for a short stay beach holiday. The terrace is nice and shaded and the plants give it a great atmosphere.

Great location beautiful town well worth a visit. Only gripe we didn't have a kettle for morning coffee although maybe there was access to one downstairs but couldn't locate. Other than that super friendly staff great location to visit xel ha and the turtles are all over the beach if that's your thing. Cheap price but worth it. Thank you.

No kettle but over the road to the left I got about a litre of coffee for a couple of bucks in a big cup.

Cozy, homely, spotless and in a central location in Akumal Pueblo. Come here if you really want to get away from the metropolis vibe and feel like a child again - take a walk after a homemade dinner prepared by the hotel owner herself and watch the neighbors chilling on their porches with their kids and dogs running around. Its an incredibly liberating and nostalgic experience.

Nothing! We had an amazing stay and felt immediately at home.

This stay was just perfect. Central location, near everything in the pueblo and not far from the beach and lagoon. Thank you to Marco for is hospitality and kindness. I will come back.

I saw other comments complaining about smell in the bathroom and the place needs renovation... I'm not sure what to think about it because you pay for what you get and as a Mexico aficionado there was nothing wrong and I have no complaints.

Lily and Marco are wonderful hosts.. they go above and beyond to make their guests happy Lily gave us a ride to the beach in her private car... After that there were beach shuttles to get there. They also cooked us a wonderful lobster dinner....

The bathroom was small, facility a little older but very clean. Town of Akumal is very small, not many food choices, but food that is there, was good.

The employees are very friendly and the check in process was very smooth. The bed was comfortable and so was the location - close to the beach entrance (which is private). The associated restaurant is also very good :)

During the night, not sure if due to the location of our particular room, there was a lot of wind-caused noise. This noise was disproportionate to the real wind outside - I think due to acoustics related with the unclosable window on the bathroom. The water pressure in the shower was poor.

Lovely small and friendly hotel. Right in the middle of the village and just a few minutes walking from the beach. The rooms are basic but comfortable, everything you need for a day or two in Akumal. The staff helped me to arrange a snorkeling trip with a great guide (it was just the two of us, much better than the bigger groups you can join on the beach) and helped with working out colectivos, etc.
