The room for two was spacious. The kitchen had all amenities needed to cook. There's a Lidl just down the block. The shower room and toilet were clean. The hosts were personable and communicated quickly.. The accommodations matched the posting. We were hoping for an inexpensive albergue but all were taken. This gite is not a hotel or an inexpensive albergue,, does not have linen service, and the bathrooms were shared. This was all disclosed in the listing. Was adequate for the start of our Camino.

Excellent accomidation with very good hosts. The gite was very conveniently located on our route. The hosts were well organised and messaged us with information that assisted our stay. Lydie responded very quickly to questions. We chose to have breakfasts, which were incredibly good value for money, and were served very early so that we were able to make early starts to our walks.

It was excellent and met all our needs. I have no negative comments.

Great hostel. Lovely spacious rooms. The beds are great, each with a blackout privacy curtain, USB port and light. 1 minute walk from the centre - perfect!!

Nothing. It was great!! (But I would prefer if they did male and female dorms. I shared with three very noisy, snoring men. And my three female friends shared with one male. It would have been so easy to make these make and female dorms!)

Lydia and her husband are so kind and somehow remembered my name. I had a private room which was very clean and comfy. The shared bathroom was clean and the showers were hot.

It's not right in the heart of Saint Jean, but it's only a few minute's walk. 10 minute walk from the train station. Both of these things I knew ahead of time, so it's not a big deal. There was nothing else to dislike!

Since it was in the middle of a heatwave, the owner came to pick us up from the train station, they are both very kind and welcoming. The place was very clean, comfortable and very reasonably maintained relatively to the price. Using the kitchen to cook our dinner saved us money.

Early in the night, When the window was open because of the heat, there was some noise from the road.

Handy location, well-equipped kitchen and very pleasant dining/sitting room area. Great place to begin the Camino - make sure you book as SJPP is a very busy town!

The reception is not attended at all hours and other pilgrims, including those without reservations, walked in off the street and had to be assisted by hostel guests. Even a sign out the front saying the hostel was full could have prevented this.

Lydie the owner was very helpful. Her communication is spot on. No issues in checkin even if she was not around my arrival time. She allowed me to stay a bit more past breakfast as well. Rooms are clean well maintained so are the facilities. The pizza place just opposite is also good.

Nothing in particular.

Located very close to the town centre. The shared bathroom was ok, however it had a blocked shower (when notified the owner, he dealt with it straight away). There is a lounge where you can rest and kitchen to prepare meals (well equipped). The check in is flexible. Easy communication with the owners. They offer breakfast.

The shared bedroom I meant to stay in was in theory for 4 people but in reality for 5.

It's a great gîte/auberge. Perfect for doing the Camino/Chemin. I love the building and the kitchen and spacious lounge area are wonderful.

Nothing really. All good. I would only suggest that (if possible) a mix of nationalities be put in each room because although I speak 4 European languages, I was in a 4-bed dorm with three others whose language I don't speak. That would be off-putting to someone on their first Camino so, although it's not the owners' fault that my room mates were exclusive and very rude, MIXING the nationalities would hopefully help avoid this issue.

Friendliness, being met at the railway station as part of the service, good facilities and nice breakfast at fair price.

My mark about cleanliness is a reflection of the fact that it is an old building and some redecoration would be desirable. Paintwork on old woodwork does not always look clean, even if it is. Many places have not received normal maintenance during the economic difficulties of the Covid period, so I retain the Excellent overall mark. They are also operating at full capacity now with short change over periods.
