Our family of 6 (20-60 years old) spent a total of 5 nights at the American Trade Hotel before traveling on to Bocas del Toro. This accommodation totally won us over because of its perfect location in the middle of the beautiful old town. It is a place to feel at home with its high ceilings and very beautiful, stylish colonial furnishings. The rooftop pool offers beautiful views and is a real cozy oasis when you return from a trip out of town. The rooms are also cozy and inviting and you have a breathtaking view of the modern skyline and the roofs of the old town. Breakfast is a la carte and includes a wide selection of fruits and egg dishes. The staff is always friendly and happy to help. All in all, we enjoyed our stay very much.

Fist of all, I loved the spacious room and the great AESOP toiletries !!! It is a beautiful colonial classic with all the charm you’d hope for. The high ceilings, the marble bathrooms with stunning colorful tiles immediately give you that sense of old world elegance. The squeaky wooden floors? They just add to the atmosphere, reminding you you’re in a place full of character and history. It’s nestled right in the heart of the historic old town, so expect the occasional sound of church bells, honestly, it adds a lovely backdrop to your stay. Everything is close by: cozy coffee spots, great restaurants, little shops, and even a small supermarket just steps away from the entrance. You can easily walk everywhere. Yes, the place has its quirks, it’s a bit worn in places, but that fits with the overall charm of the building. It’s not trying to be ultra-modern, and that’s part of what makes it feel so special. The design walks a nice line between classic and stylishly updated. Overall, it’s quiet and peaceful. The hotel’s restaurant is definitely worth a visit. It feels like a hidden gem; maybe not always bustling, but the food is really good and fairly priced. Breakfast is also great. And don’t skip the little coffee spot attached to the hotel; they serve delicious cakes, cookies, and pastries. Tap water’s safe to drink, which is a plus. I loved my stay. It’s one of those places where you actually feel somewhere, not just in another generic hotel.

A most fabulous stylish hotel centrally located in the beautiful Old Town of Panama City. The hotel overlooks the Plaza Herrera within the Casco Viejo and is a striking original building, formerly the home of the American Trade Centre. The Reception, Lounge, Restaurant and Bar are all located on the very striking ground floor with tall windows and ceilings. Our bedroom was beautifully appointed with great views overlooking the Old Town and beyond to the sea. Reception were exceedingly helpful with my many queries and the restaurant, which we used three times, produced immaculate delicious food. The swimming pool, located on the third floor has lovely views across the town and has really comfortable sun beds. This hotel is really a fabulous place to stay.

Absolutely nothing but I would love the a.c in the common parts to be less chilly.

The hotel was historic and elegant. The room was large, with lovely amenities and a very comfortable big bed. We loved the big windows and door opening to the balcony overlooking the square. The bathroom was roomy, very clean, and continued the old world style. The food in the restaurant was excellent. All of the staff were very helpful and attentive. We especially appreciated Herrera’s assistance. We would definitely stay there again and highly recommend it to others.

The location of the hotel was exceptional. I was travelling solo on my first day, and felt safe in and around the local area. Rooms overlooking the square are preferred as those on the other side of the hotel face a church which rings its bells. The ringing may be a nuisance for those sensitive to noise, but isn't much of an inconvenience for anybody wanting to immerse in the local culture. Staff at the hotel are exceptional.

The location of this hotel is prime, as it is situated in the heart of the old town and easy to walk to lots of restaurants/cafes and shops. The pool is lovely and the hotel itself is really nice. Rooms were clean and had everything you needed! Staff were very hospitable too.

We didn’t realise that the hotel is situated right next to a church with bells that ring every hour. So if you’re looking to have a relaxing lie in, then you may struggle here!

location. staff very friendly. we liked the idea there was a swimming pool, although the condition of the pool was poor. tiles were broken or missing and it looked like it needed paint. but the existence was great and it had a great view

overall it was very good. the price was a little pricy but I think it was because of the easter holiday

i booked the wrong week and showed up at the hotel with it very full in high season. Genesis the GM made sure to accommodate me in a beautiful room. All the FD staff were super welcoming and very helpful. The service in the dining room was excellent as usual as was the food. It's a really wonderful experience. Genesis and her team make you feel like you're coming home, and that's what hospitality is all about.

Hotel was within walking distance of attractions, restaurants and shops that were of interest to us. The view from the balcony that overlooked the square was excellent. Staff members were very friendly and helpful. Room temperature was comfortable.

The room was well lit during the day. However, nighttime lighting was inadequate. Service during breakfast was slow. Food options were limited and lacked flair. The availability of more English language TV channels would be beneficial but not necessary.

The location was great, right next to alot of cute restaurants and really central to the safer walkable areas of old town. The room was beautiful, the bed was so comfortable, the balcony was adorable. The amenities and little aesop bottles were lovely, it's so nice to use high quality products on vacation and not have to pack them. The pool was perfect in the middle of a hot day.

The fixed breakfast was a little limiting for a vegetarian, but the restaurant was beautiful and the staff was beyond helpful.
