This property had an easy check-in (during which they gave us some supremely helpful information about Meteora), the room had a comfy bed, and unlike so many other places I've stayed in Greece, it was quiet. There weren't any cars roaring by in the night, nor any noises from inside the hotel itself. I've come to really value this. It's also very close to a boardwalk area with lots of restaurants and a playground, but not in the area in a way that would create noise. The bed was very comfortable. The breakfast spread was incredible, with homemade jams and cakes. I wish we had stayed another night.

We enjoyed the location - close to the center and all the tavernas but not in it, as it was quiet with us and then there is like 5-7 minutes walk and you are in the center. Our room was very spacious and had everything we needed. The pool is a very good addition to the hotel, my kids used it extensively, for me it was a bit cold. Breakfast has many options, I liked the spinach pastry the most. The staff makes you feel very welcome, gave us very good recommendations on where to go and what to see. They also offer smth like a package for 5 euro you get a pool towel and a drink of your choice from juice to beer.

The only thing that did not match my expectation was the comfort of getting into the room - through the balcony with stairs which does not close, so we could not use the balcony with our toddler that could easily run away from it and at the same time we had to carry a stroller up the stairs all the time.

There are so many things to like about this place and I am excited to share. We are a family of five (mom, dad, three kids). First, we got the family room, street view, and we are so happy that it is spacious with a balcony. The vibe in Kalabaka is so chill and positive, this room is perfect. Bed, beddings, mattress (firm) are great. We also have a lot of luggages so this big room is perfect to organize everything. I was also able to have our clothes washed and dried via their laudry service which is reasonable at 25 euro. Our room is also quiet, you can sleep soundly at night. The neighborhood is peaceful. Second, the people. Oh they are so kind. The reception area representatives are smiling, gracious, polite. Like they really love what they are doing. They patiently explained to us the sites and monasteries to see around. Third, the breakfast. Oh how lovely. You have all the essentials. Healthy, comfortable. We love it. Fourth, the parking is spacious. We drove a van and there is good space for parking. Fifth and finally, the price is reasonable given the space and togetherness we enjoyed as a family. We are truly happy that we chose this place over the others that showed in the booking.com app. I based my decision on the area and the good reviews of the other travellers who tried this place. Thank you Guesthouse Monastiri, you are so kind and accommodating. God bless you and your team.

There is nothing not to like. This is a great place. And the team who represents this guesthouse, wonderful.

Charming guesthouse, great location, easy walk to town yet in a residential and quiet neighborhood. We have walking difficulties and still had no problem walking the few blocks into town. Fantastic views of Meteora too. However, the best part was the staff! Also, there is an adorable cat (black kitten about 6 months old in October 2024) who is a stray but lives there. She is very sweet and warmed our hearts. We felt like we were staying with friends, yet professionally managed and very clean.

I am a swimmer and booked it partially because of the pool. However, I know Europe has different standards than America. I was unable to swim because there were no steps into the pool, only a ladder. I am somewhat disable and this made it impossible for me to get into (or out of) the pool. Also, the water felt quite cold. Yet, it was a great area to relax poolside.

The hotel itself is very good and clean. Located in a good and quiet area not far from the center of the city and the Meteora. It has also view to Meteora and swimming pool which unfortunately we couldn't use it due to the weather conditions. Rooms are new and spacious with balconies. Very warm and clean. Wifi was working properly. Breakfast was very good and price was also good. Staff is also very kind and helpfull

Although rooms were new, shower of the bathroom was looking old and not well preserved. Amenities were not so many for a couple (one shower gel and one shampoo per day). Finally a local touch on the breakfast would be a good addition and also an addition of a second type of cheese and turkey and bacon would make it the best. Spinach pie was not something special

The staff (especially Dita) were all most helpful right from the beginning when we first made the booking. We asked about conducted tours to the monasteries and they suggested we wait until we arrived to talk through the options. They gave us information on the town, booked taxis and made the monastery tour bookings for us. Although only two floors, the hotel had a lift which was most welcome. Our upstairs room was very specious with a balcony view of the pool, with the spectacular rock formations and three of the mountain-top monasteries in the background. A dip in the pool was the perfect follow-up to a long morning of climbing steps to and from the monasteries! We were made to feel very welcome by all the staff and enjoyed ourselves very much.

Nothing!

The location with the view - from the pool area you can really see one of the monasteries, great landscape. Breakfast was varied and tasty. The pool is not too big, but has adequate depth so kids can also enyoy it (goes from 0.6 to 1.8+ m) The room was bigger than expected and everything worked like a charm. They have a small bar menu when staying at the pool and the prices are more than reasonable. The receptionists can offer you a map and excellent tips for visiting the monasteries. We only visited the two biggest of them (Great Meteoron and Varlaam) but the "minor details" the receptionists knew made the difference between being able to park and visit and not get sunburned or no visit at all.

Probably the single detail I can think of is the AC exterior unit pointed inside the balcony - turn on the aircon and you can't go in the balcony because it blows all the hot air in it. It did turbo dry the towels though :D Parking is possible on the street only and it is not shaded.

The location is great enough far from the rocks to have beautiful view of 2 monasteries and enough close to city center to walk for any bar or restaurant or shopping. Room with Meteora view is worthy. Parking just outside the hotel. Ladies at the Guesthouse were very friendly and do a good job for breakfast, explaining the options and offering home made pastries. Room was cleaned after the first night which positivily surprised us. Very comfortable bed and pillows.

The shower somehow was leaking on the floor

Location is outside the center but everything is short wak away. And you get quiet neighborhood. If you are worried about train being close - we never heard it. Staff was exceptionally nice and helpful. We were greeted with a map and detailed information about all the monasteries, routes, restaurant suggestions, and things to see in town. (Ambrosia Taverna Restaurant was 10/10 the mushrooms!!! We even went back just to eat mushrooms and zucchinis).

From the first moment I stepped in to the hotel with my granddaughter we were so happy we chose to stay here! Lovely and friendly lady at the reception upgraded us to a huge, clean and beautiful triple room. Beds were most comfortable with classy linen. Big bottle of water in the fridge. In the bathroom shower stall, toiletries and even a make up towel. Breakfast was awesome and tasty!! Lovely pool area. Free and easy parking. Thank you so much Monastery Guesthouse for making our stay so special ❤️. Keep up the good work! Greetings from Anitta and Maria from Finland

Loved every minute of our stay
