I truly cannot say enough good things about Lua Villas and the Playa Hermosa area. We stayed for one week in Villa Mar as a family of 4 with boys age 10, 14 and had the best time. Initial communication with Sofia at the time of booking was immediate and she became an invaluable asset to our time in the area. Any questions I had or bookings I needed, Sofia took care of immediately. She was my angel. Lua Villas is a group beautifully designed and decorated villas surrounded by tropical foliage with a centrally located pool that became our oasis during the heat of the day. We rented Villa Mar which was the perfect size for our family of 4 with a full kitchen, living room, twin bedroom and an upstairs suite with a King bed. The bathroom was large and beautiful with a private opening to the outside. The beach was just a short walk through a jungle trail that my kids nicknamed "the monkey jungle". Such a treat to hear and see the howler monkeys in the trees, just watch your head for thrown mangos! Once you arrive at the beach, be prepared to have your breath taken away. The beach, especially at lower tide was spectacular, huge and not crowded at all. Everyone at the beach was there to surf and the surf was perfect. I loved it because my husband could surf the bigger waves, myself the medium and my kids the small ones. I never worried about my kids in the water and we spent many hours enjoying its warmth. We went to the beach and played every evening to watch the most amazing sunsets! Playa Hermosa was just what we were looking for. Very quiet, not many people, two awesome restaurants (TP8 and Cafe Coulour) and one small grocery store. You can grab a surf board from Sofi or at the local surf shop if needed. We decided to rent a car and were glad we did. Santa Teresa is a must see with the bustling town and fabulous restaurants. We really loved returning 'home" to our quiet villa after dinner in Santa T. If you are looking for a quite oasis this is it!

Concierge was lovely, property is beautiful and walking distance to my favorite surf spot, bed was comfortable and I loved having my own private outdoor space. It self safe and secure with the gate access as well. I also loved the attention to environmentally friendly practices. Power outages are a normal occurrence in this area, just something to expect from time to time, and I loved that the team had a sign of where to get more water, anything we needed while power + WiFi was down.

Parking was a little tight. Did have to wait to park car inside but there’s street parking available too. Definitely not a deal breaker.

We loved our stay at Lua Villas. The unit was spacious and well appointed, the ac units in the down stairs bedroom and in the upstairs loft kept the unit well cooled. The pool and yoga pavillion are excellent. The location a mere 5 mins walk down the muddy jungle path to the beach and you are at beautiful Playa Hermosa where you will enjoy great surf and sunsets. Just leave your white sneakers at home!

Know that Playa Hermosa lies at the end of the very rough, bumpy and congested road through Santa Teresa, but we had no problem making it in our little suv. The parking situation is very tight, but we were able to make it work.

We loved everything about Lua Villas. The location is perfect, Hermosa Beach is better for swimming surfing. Our studio was very spacious with a huge bed and a lounge patio. Mornings were for yoga or workout classes. Nice pool area. Great breakfast possibility on other side of the road. Staff will give you all their recommendations. Great value for money

The location was perfect, right out of our gate and easy walking distance to amazing beaches. We had security and a remote control to open and shut a gate where we could park our car.

We ended up parking on the street our last night because there are only 4 spots inside to park cars, so we just had to walk a little further to load up our car. The only other thing was our bed was a king but 2 twin mattresses put together. Nothing made our trip horrible.... definitely stay again.

The close location to playa Hermosa was the best part of staying in Lua Villas. The second best was the pool. The villas were great. My only recommendation would be for the kitchen to be better supplied include a pan for cooking eggs, fish, etc. A toster oven or microwave. A big pitcher for fresh fruit punches.

The kitchen to be better appropriated. The towels they use are in a sad, spotty condition.

We loved this place. We had a 2 bedroom villa with a kitchen and patio with a table and ceiling fan. The buildings are all secluded from the paths with palms and other tall plants but ours had huge birds of paradise edging it so it was especially pretty. They ask that you turn off the A/C when not there and I was hesitant, thinking that it would take forever to cool down, but it cooled down immediately. Each bedroom has its own A/C unit and kept the entire place cool. The beds were great and the bathroom was beautiful with a fabulous shower. The beach is a short walk and we saw Holler monkeys along the path and also right outside the gate to the hotel. The hotel gave great directions, with pictures to help with location, and information about the area. Lastly, the staff is all nice, but I can't say enough about how nice Sophia is. Truly a pleasure staying here.

The one inconvenience was that you can't throw toilet paper into the toilet, but we encountered this at other places near the beach. Bring your own beach towels, because they don't want you to take the pool towels to the beach.

it’s close to the beach and secluded from the main part of town. Its a short drive to town and all the great restaurants. there’s also a local market that’s at a 2 min walk if you need something. if you want quiet and a pool to use, it’s perfect. the walk to the beach was one of my favorite parts(3mins). Great location!!

the pool was great, all the villas were covered by lush plants, trees and flowers to hide each villa from one another. having the property gated was a plus for a sense of safety too. the beds and pillows were really nice. everything was really clean.

The villa was nice, very well equipped, clean, good AC and surrounded by beautiful plants. The pool is great and the deck beside the pool is very well equipped with weights, yoga mats and TRX systems. I think this is an excellent choice with great positive cost/value balance. Playa Hermosa is just 5 minutes walking from Lua Villas, and it is a perfect spot to watch the sunset.

For me it was clear that the payment of the accommodation should be made before the arrival, but it was not clear the payment method. I received a message through Booking asking me how I would like to make the deposit and if it was OK for me to continue the conversation via WhatsApp. I answered the email but did not get a replay. Three days after (one day before our arrival), I got a WhatsApp message asking me the same questions again, and at the end of the conversation, the representative of Lua Villas asked me that it was very important to make the deposit as soon as possible. I think this was not kind neither fair, since I asked this information since my first message at booking.com, and at that moment I was not available.

Beautiful, gated and secured property (during the night’s there is a security guard that remains near the main entrance. We were received by Julie (host); very friendly; she gave us a tour of the property. The property is surrounded by pure nature. Very peaceful. We stayed in the Amor (Love) Studio; very cozy, clean and comfortable. Loved it! And to top it off, the beach was only a 5 minute walk away; supermarket was 3 minutes away and TP8 restaurant was 4 minutes away.
