It is literally on the beach!! Perfect!! The cabanas are super cute and the beds are very comfy. Had the best stay here! Staff were wonderful and attentive and helped us out with information. The wildlife around the place is very cool!!

Unfortunately on our last night I couldnt sleep a wink due to heavy music coming from a hotel across the river. Ofcourse this is no reflection on Mangrove beach however it did effect the stay slightly. Nobody has previously mentioned that you CANNOT SWIM HERE. The swell and under currents are very very strong here and you need to walk about 10 - 15 minutes down the beach towards a small lagoon.

The cabana was on the most amazing beach with huge waves which you are unable to swim in. Although small, it suited us, and we got used to the bathroom downstairs. Just need to be very careful. There was only us and one other set of guests on each of the two nights we stayed, which made it very special. The food at breakfast and dinner was lovely and the staff were very attentive. WiFi just at the restaurant did not bother us. We swam at Mangrove Beach Cabanas along the beach, but be careful even there the current is strong. We were lucky to walk along after dinner and see a turtle hatching her eggs....magical. A lovely simple place to stay for nature lovers

The downstairs bathroom door is a little too heavy.

The beach was gorgeus, however, very difficult to swim because of huge waves. The restaurant area is really nice, there is nice ambient music and the food and drinks offer is good. You can really comfortably sit and look at the ocean. The cabanas are nice, the bathroom is under trap door through a few stairs - quite steep, but ok. Due to the nature of the cabana - it is open space, there were a few lizards and one night a marten came and teared open one of our bags (just a textile small bag) because we left a cookie there. We were able to book a massage in the nearby place through the hotel so that was nice

- difficult to swim due to huge waves - animals and insect in the room (however, natural due to the nature of the accommodation) - there is not much facilities nearby to the hotel - the sunbeds are not in the best condition

Staying in a cabana on a beautiful beach was a dream that came true. Simple place but who needs more in such a location? Walking towards the rising sun, watching a mama turtle making her way back to the ocean after laying eggs, playing with the waves… it was perfect! Even the mongoose who sneaked in at night looking for my lunch takeaway was part of the adventure of being surrounded by nature.

All good; be aware that if you want the Sri Lankan breakfast you need to order it the day before, something the staff forgot to mention. The currents are quite strong so this is not suitable for swimming.

Loved the beautiful beach which was not crowded at all, although it was high season. From our bed we could see straight to the beach. Could hear the waves. Loved the double day bed in front of the cottage.

This place could use some care and attention; the signs of wear and tear are starting to show. Bedding/Linen, algae on the pebble stones in the shower, bath mats were not clean. We stayed at 7 guesthouses throughout Sri Lanka for the last 16 days, the breakfast at Cabbana was the smallest.

Mangrove Beach Cabana is one of the most beautiful places I have ever visited. A beachfront cabin surrounded by palm trees creates an incredible atmosphere of peace and harmony with nature. The only sound accompanying my stay was the soothing waves of the Indian Ocean. The cabin is luxuriously equipped, providing the highest level of comfort. One of the highlights was the delicious breakfasts served directly on the beach – enjoying a meal with such a breathtaking view was an unforgettable experience. Every moment here was special, filled with relaxation and wonderful memories. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for tranquility, serenity, and a perfect connection with nature in a truly exclusive setting! 🌴🌊✨

For us Mangrove Beach Cabanas was the perfect place for our first days in Sri Lanka We loved  the cabanas with the pretty stylish bathroom below the cabana, the endless lonely beaches, the sound of the birds in the morning and the magic of fireflies in the palm trees at night  The accomodation was great but it was the staff who Made this place unique. Manik was a perfect host, always smiling, anticipating all our wishes and with a good sense of humor, Dilah prepared great meals (try the rice & curry) and we got many useful advices by Tharindu and others from the team. 10 points from us for the accomodation, 12 points for the staff. We came as guests and left as friends :-)

The cabanas are beautifully designed, merging seamlessly with the surrounding nature, and offer stunning views of the ocean. Waking up to the sound of waves and birds was a dream come true. The peaceful atmosphere made it an ideal escape from the hustle and bustle of daily life. Accommodation: The cabanas are spacious, comfortable, and tastefully decorated. Every detail, from the cozy bedding to the well-appointed bathroom, was designed with comfort and relaxation in mind. Dining: The food at Mangrove Beach Cabanas was simply outstanding. Every meal was a culinary delight, made with fresh, local ingredients and bursting with flavor. The seafood, in particular, was exceptional. Dining under the stars on the beach, with the sound of the waves as a backdrop, was an experience that we will never forget. The Sri Lankan breakfast was also a highlight, offering a variety of delicious options to start the day right. Exceptional Service: While everything about Mangrove Beach Cabanas was perfect, what truly set this place apart was the incredible service provided by the staff. A special mention must go to Laxman and Menik, who went above and beyond to ensure that my stay was perfect in every way. Laxman’s attention to detail and his warm, friendly demeanor made me feel like a valued guest, not just a customer. He was always available to assist with anything we needed. Menik, on the other hand, added a personal touch to our experience.

The hotel is truly beautiful! We had a fantastic cabin overlooking the ocean with a private outdoor bathroom. The location is incredibly beautiful; it reminded us of the Maldives. Being the last hotel in the row also meant there were hardly any tourists around, and we had the whole beach to ourselves. The service was always friendly and helpful! The food and cocktails were also very good. Be aware that you can't really swim there because the waves are very high. But it's a wonderful place to cool off. Everything was perfect, and we would have loved to stay longer.

Location, location,location …. Weather dependent of course but the combination of sunshine, pounding waves, an endless, virtually deserted, beach six steps from the door of your own coconut-thatched, hardwood cabin, with its ‘seashells and steeping stones’ outdoor bathroom is pretty hard to beat ..for us anyway.

Just A few details - tatty toilet seat in our cabin - needs replacing Some sun loungers need replacing But that didn’t really spoil anything
