Hotel and staff were fantastic.

The Italian restaurant was very average. We had a booking but our table was not ready, they called us later in the room when ready. We waited about an hour for our meal as there were large groups for a conference only to receive food/pasta that were not warmed properly, as in still ice cold. Upon checkout we wanted to settle the restaurant bill, after 30min we were told it was complimentary as they could not find anything in the system , despite the document laying in front of them and them checking with the restaurant. Today, I received a call to say I need to settle my outstanding account with Fancourt....I paid no problem 😊 but what a disaster with this restaurant, not what you expect.

Went to play golf for a couple days, amazing resort. We stayed in room 3101 nice living room with fireplace with wood setup, couch 2 chairs and a round table, small terrace off the back looking out over garden. Refrigerator and bar area on back wall of living room, atrium between bedroom and large bathroom. Large bedroom comfort and quiet, peaceful place. Service impeccable from everhone great breakfast buffet or a la carte, nice restaurants, and shops, spa was booked so we couldn’t go. Fabulous garden grounds for walks. Great main bar with terrace. Great golf highly recommend the links. Will go back to play again if in SA again!

Not a lot to do except golf, but that’s why you go here so not a negative thing. Limited to the restaurants there but for 2 nights again not a deal breaker since all of them are good.

The Fancourt Spa Hotel exceeded all my expectations, making it the perfect retreat for any traveler seeking relaxation after an active adventure. I would recommend this gem to anyone looking for a harmonious blend of outdoor beauty, luxurious pampering, and unmatched hospitality

Booking the Spa was a bit difficult - it seems to be very popular as the full slots were consistently book- the spa team made a plan though .

Utterly breathtaking scenery. Loved the walking trails, and complimentary use of bikes around the property. Breakfast was stand out. Huge, beautiful spread with fresh fruits, pastries, etc. Staff were very warm and accommodating. Fantastic meal at Henry Whites and again, staff exceptional.

The pool area feels very cheap in comparison to the rest of the hotel. A bit run down, cheap cafe with poor quality food and processed snacks, and everything felt dirty. Kids screaming, running around, diving, not very peaceful or restful. Definitely avoid the outdoor pool if you’re looking for more of an adults trip.

Nice green setting. Golfing next door. Pool area. Friendly and professional staff - also at the pro shop.

Mosquito shields would be a great idea to allow the fresh air in with having the noisy and energy-cosuming air-con run all night. Outdoor staircases to the rooms should be washed and scrubbed. Produce A MAP of the grounds - not just of the main building as well as an information leaflet on what can be used when & where and on how to get from A to B etc.

Luxurious place with very comfortable rooms (although without view), excellent staff, 3 restaurants and everything made to make you feel comfortable. It has different options available (spa, biking, walking, tennis, basketball and of course golfe). The family liked it for a 2 days break on the garden road

Let’s be honest that it is a paradise if you play golfe. If you don’t, it is also nice, with other options, but the place is mainly built around golfe

The property was massive and beautiful. They had a kids club where our kids enjoyed spending the day and it gave us a break as well on the last leg of our journey. The dinner at La Cantina (Italian) was great and they had a good spread for breakfast as well. The room was amazinggggg! The renovated rooms (in the 5xx series) were super spacious for our family of 4.

The water was yellow for the duration of the stay, apparently a normal phenomenon and coming from the municipality pipelines. But Asanda, Jeandre and Fisani (the leadership team at the property) all took great care and ensured our stay was comfortable. They also compensated us well for the discomfort and provided us a boiler and clean water to bathe.

beautiful setting in pristine grounds surrounding a golf course. Room was large and bed very comfortable with all amenities you'd expect of a 5*. Food was good too. I think this is probably a golfers paradise but not so much for us. no complaints - just saying!

I must have missed the clear focus on the golfing fraternity when I booked this. Hover, this is genuinely a lovely hotel in a very nice setting.

The breakfast was excellent, the omelettes a highlight The staff were so friendly La Cantina was excellent

Monet’s was disappointing (food seemed a much reduced standard - the moules were poor as was the brûlée) Fresher pastries were be good Henry Whites was very average - the ostrich was too small a portion and the crayfish was overcooked. The staff seemed very inexperienced (wine before we had finished cocktails)

Great place for playing golf with beautiful courses and views. But Not really worth it if you don’t play. Staff is exceptional, you get a really luxurious experience.

I would expect better pool facilities, and more activities during the evenings ( example live music). As a young couple, the hotel is very slow and often boring at times. Also, everything is very European, so if you want to experience African culture, food, music, this place is not for you.
