We arrived after a day walking the Camino in the snow! We were tired and cold, and the owner made us lentil soup to warm us up. The room was comfortable. As we stayed right at the beginning of the season the owner arranged for us to eat our evening meal at a restaurant very close by. Breakfast was nice and relaxed next to the fire station the hotel. The owners took over this hotel only last year. They are a lovely family and gave us a very warm welcome. I would love to stay again, and would encourage others to stay, especially in the warmer weather when there will be lots going on on the terrace.

The hosts were so kind and just lovely people. The property is the first one as you enter town - perfect location! The room was spacious, beautifully decorated and had a screen on the window - I love sleeping with the window open and I haven’t been able to do that much because most places don’t have window screens and mosquitoes get in. Had an excellent night’s sleep! Breakfast was waiting on a tray for me in the morning as Suzanne had asked my anticipated departure time and it would be before they usually serve breakfast. So attentive and kind! And the garden was the perfect place to watch the beautiful sunset. :)

What a beautiful place, just as you walk into the village! The best sight to see after walking down hill on the Camino. The couple that run the place are lovely! You can see the pride they have in their business. A lovely room with a hot shower and comfy bed. The sunset was spectacular!

All is well, a beautiful place to stay. Make sure you eat before 4pm there or across the street or you will have to go down the road to another place!

La Rosa Del Agua is the very first accommodation on your left as you enter the town from your day on the Camino. The vibe is wonderful and my room was comfortable and cozy and had everything I needed. The hosts were welcoming and friendly and served a wonderful group dinner to those who opted in for it. It was delicious. Thank you also to David for picking me up when I walked a few kilometers past the location!!

There was nothing not to like. I will stay here again next time.

Very clean, comfortable lodging close to Camino route, close to restaurants. Comfortable bed! Very kind and thoughtful hosts! I don’t recall there being air conditioning in my room in the third floor; however, host provided large floor fan which I addition to fan already in room made for a comfortable stay on a very hot night. Laundry on premises for small fee.

My room was on 3rd floor, bathroom on 2nd floor, not a deal breaker but difficult for the tired old pilgrim in the middle of the night.

We walked the Camino Frances in May 2023 and booked a private room in this Albergue based on guest reviews. We understand the new owners recently renovated this historic old stone building. The young couple, David (Spanish) and Suzanna (Dutch) speak excellent English ~ they lived in Ireland for many years. David captures the spirit of a true hospilatero - he is gracious, friendly and makes every effort to provide guests with whatever services they need. Suzanna bakes and creates a tasty and healthy breakfast. In addition to the medieval charm of the building and village, we enjoyed the beautiful view from our room of the surrounding mountains and countryside. The Albergue offers an outside terrace to enjoy a beer or wine and snacks with your new Peregrino friends. Our room was small and wood beams were low (ouch!) but this was compensated for by its comfy bed and rustic charm and view. Dining options in El Acebo were limited but the village provides a welcome break before the descent into Ponferrada.

We absolutely fell in love with the care and comfort provided by our hosts! What a magnificent job they have done ensuring the rooms were comfortable and the hydro-massage showers and high end bath products were divine at the end of a long day of trekking. The breakfast was also outstanding, nutritious and locally sourced! One of the best places to stay on the Camino!!! Great garden with wonderful views!

Wish we had more time to rnjoy the peace and quiet…. Washer was also being repaired so our timing for getting clothes cleaned was off

The owner went above and beyond in every possible way!! He didn't have any kind of lunch I wanted after 27 km Camino walking, so I ordered it at the competitors' restaurant, and he served it for me at his restaurant. It's absolutely amazing. Breakfast was ready for me the evening before because i started walking at 6:00 AM. Both he and his wife speak excellent English. I am definitely coming back to that place as it was one of the best on the whole Camino.

I wish there was more choice of "regular" food, but hey, no one is perfect, and this place was 99,99% perfect 😀.

David and Suzanne were extremely welcoming, going out of their way to ensure I was relaxed and well-looked after. Suzanne makes delicious cakes and crepes, while David makes sure everything is running smoothly. I loved it so much the first night that I decided to stay for a second! The view from my room was stunning but the view of the sunset (recommended by David) from the hill just above the property was spectacular. El Acebo is a very pretty, peaceful little village and David and Suzanne ensure that your stay at La Rosa del Agua is just as nice!

I enjoyed my stay here after a long, snowy walk through the mountains on the Camino in March. It is a quaint setting and the hosts are great. Things were quiet because it was the offseason, but I can imagine both the town and La Rosa del Agua are a lot of fun in season. Recommended.
