This is the 2nd time I have stayed at the Colts Neck Inn, my son and his fiance' live in Colts Neck and when I visit them The Inn allows me a place to stay when I am not with them that allows me to work a little bit on my laptop in the mornings and my own privacy after spending the day and evening with them. It is very inviting , clean and cozy. The foyer and desk area is beautiful, especially at Christmas time. I have encountered very nice people at the desk every time I walk by. The added touches of coffee/ hot chocolate and cookies are also a plus. This last visit they were working on replacing the carpet in the halls with wood floors and it will be beautiful - it already was, as it was coming together while I was there end of December into the beginning of Jan. 2025 - and there is a sweet cat that will welcome you outside with a meow but will run from you if you try to get to close :)

Not a thing

The hotel is really nice with many places to sit and relax and even bookshelves that guests can take and leave a book. Charming old building and nice with the little pamphlets about the colonial and early revolutionary history of the inn and the local area. Well located with many nearby restaurant options. Close to main roads.

Considering how nice the hotel's other amenities were, breakfast seemed a step below. There could've been better pastries and bread. At the very least, there could've been actual ceramic coffee cups and plates and metal cutlery, which would've made the Continental breakfast esthetically nicer. I liked how there was fresh fruit (apples, oranges, bananas).

The location was great based on our needs. The beds were comfy and firm and the room was clean.

The property is aged but everything worked as expected. It would have been handy to have a safe in the room. There was a musky smell when we entered the room. Turning off the window mounted air conditioning unit reduced the muskiness. There were long strands of hair in some of the fresh towels. The Wi-Fi was spotty, good enough for casual use but not stable enough to work.

The Inn was so charming and welcoming. Fireside reading, family games in a breakfast room and just cozy and welcoming. Comfy communal seating throughout. There were lending libraries all through the INN and board games and foosball available. My daughter also appreciated hot cocoa and cookies before bed each night in the lobby. Although breakfast was your average continental breakfast, it was cozy welcoming and comfortable. The staff were friendly and helpful. Also appreciated that it’s the first place in 4 years I have found a bedside Bible. (Not a big deal for many but a WIN in my book) We will be making a trip back!

My only complaint was our bathroom door didn’t shut due to a warped door frame from aging, but it was manageable for my family, no issues.

Location was just right for us. Hotel building was beautiful and full of character. Furniture was nice, dark wood. Room was comfortable, spacious with high ceiling. Shower was great. Breakast was just ok. Nice sitting areas. Cute 'library' tables. Beautiful breafast room.

Breakfast could have been better. Make your own waffles, add some bacon or sausage, hot oatmeal or maybe breafast sandwiches to heat in microwave. Those are usual breakast options in places where we usually stay.

The place was a hidden gem with many little “extra touches” surprising you at every turn. The owner has thought of the little things you would never see in a chain hotel… board games & books throughout the hotel, several separate clusters of outdoor seating with fire pits (kindling inside), 24 hr coffee & cookies, and bikes to ride!!!

The only thing I didn’t love was the air conditioners. It was plenty cold, but as with older buildings, each unit had its own unit that was loud when it cycled on and off. At some point maybe switch to the ductless units.

Location was great because it was close to our venue- we were in town for a concert. The property was beautiful, very clean, and also has some very cool history about it. The room was simple but comfortable, bathroom well stocked. The lobby had beautiful antique furniture and plants, and a very cozy feel. There was a fireplace and multiple seating areas outside, and even a couple cats napping in the garden. We would certainly stay there again.

This was our second stay at Colts Neck Inn, as it is conveniently located near Eagle Oaks Country Club. Colts Neck Inn is clearly a labor of love. I appreciate all of the attention to detail that the owners put in - from the cookies and coffee that are out, to the fire pit, to the board games, to all of the books available to read, to the opportunity to borrow bikes, to the inspirational signs found throughout the hotel. The Colts Neck Inn is so cute. We have stayed in a king room as well as a king suite and both were lovely. The rooms are a nice size. There is a fridge available in the rooms if needed. They even left water bottles for guests. The bathroom in the king room that we stayed in was on the older side, but it was well maintained and clean. The continental breakfast is nice, and there is a restaurant right next door. There's also plenty of parking. We hope to return!

This hotel felt like I was walking into a Hallmark Movie. Loved the decorations and the room was spacious, get bathroom, and could not hear the people next to us. I my complaint is the water smelled and there was coffee but could not find the hot water for tea. Their continental breakfast was great. Very clean! I will book again next year!

The room lost power for two hours in the middle of the night, the alarm clock was only for show but that is ok, and the bath water smelled. Things the hotel really could not control.

The location was great for my needs. The staff was very helpful, pleasant and responsive. There were little touches everywhere (like bottles of water, cookies, candies, etc) that made me feel like my stay was appreciated.

The first night, my room was hot. I couldn’t turn the heat off and I had the window AC unit on full blast, and I was still sweating. The bed wasn’t too comfortable, not sure if that was due to the mattress or the supports but it had a slight sag. The AC unit was super loud when it kicked in and startled me a couple of times, which just added to the sleep difficulty. I did get the least expensive room so it is entirely possible the upstairs rooms have better beds, etc.
