We were made to feel truly special during our time here, and I've never experienced housekeeping of such a high standard. The room was spotless, and made up spotlessly each and every day! The bathroom was also stunning. It was a real shame the weather was really bad during our stay here, with severe flooding in Puerto Princesa that made travelling very challenging from the hotel. But the staff were superb, and continued to do everything they could to make our stay enjoyable.

The breakfast service was very slow. There was a small buffet selection but the majority of hot food was made to order (which is great!) but it could take up to an hour for your food to be served, which was a problem when you had a trip booked.

The dining room, located outdoors and surrounded by lush vegetation, provides a relaxing and pleasant atmosphere. A special detail is the large sign with the phrase Carpe Diem, which, besides being an inspiring motto, is precisely my favorite. At this point in life, I know that time is the most valuable thing we have. We don't have to wait for the perfect moment, because the moment is now. I want to give a special mention to Jayson for his great professionalism and dedication. Exquisite service, extremely kind people from front office, to housekeeping, to the lovely young man standing at breakfast. We booked the two bedroom villa which was very very spacious and clean. I have never seen as many amenities in a hotel room, even though we have stayed at a large amount of 5 star hotels around the world. Anything you think of they had it, from bathrobes, to ALL toiletries and EVEN a weighing scale!! Was nice to check how much weight we had put on during the holiday haha. Breakfast was included and we had one of the best breakfasts out of all our stays in the Philippines. It wasn’t a huge buffet, but perfect choices for everyone to have a lovely breakfast. Also one of the few places (if not the first) where breakfast tea was offered during breakfast instead of only coffee. The kids had a blast at the pool. I could not recommend this place enough, it’s just the perfect hotel in Puerto Princessa. Staff go above and beyond and deserve everything they get.

Absolutely everything was perfect.

We loved everything at Carpe Diem - from staff, location, and food! Oh the food was delicious, a french inspired cuisine and they also have Filipino - I loved they adobo. The room was clean, comfortable, and spacious. They offer Palawan excursion so no need to find it else where.

One thing I did not particularly like was the room air freshener - it was way too strong. If you have scent sensitivity you may ask the staff to air out the room first. Other than this, this place is wonderful. I will definitely be back.

The rooms are spacious and quite lovely, a nice retreat after a hot day out sightseeing. The bathroom was nice too and the bed was very comfortable. The gardens are tropical style, with the pool being so close to our room, only a few steps away. It is a small, quiet boutique style accommodation. There is a guard out the front, so you feel quite safe. Little village shop out the front to the left opposite to buy cheaper beer and water if you need. The staff were great, friendly and helpful.

The beach down the road is more like a sandy mangrove beach and the track/road down there is muddy. The coconut nut trees grove is nice and you can see the locals swimming there, also there is a small fee to go there, i think 20 piso each. We wanted a walk in the local area but perhaps not the best for the less experienced who have not been in Asian country areas before.

This is not the first time we have stayed at this hotel (we are residents in Palawan). This time we were here with friends and rented a villa for five people (4 adults and a kid) instead of a room only. The villa is a separate building, divided into two spacious bedrooms, each with a large bathroom (one of them even has a bathtub with hot water). The interior is lovingly designed and the design is unique (this applies to the entire hotel complex, including the spacious main pool). The rooms are nicely furnished and functional. There is everything a traveler could wish for. One could almost call it luxurious. In addition, there is an additional private, small swimming pool attached to the villa, and the water was even changed during our stay. The staff are friendly and helpful. The restaurant has also improved significantly since our last stay. What I also personally appreciate: The noisy loudspeaker that was at the bar at the large swimming pool on our last visit has since been removed. Thank you! The Internet in the rooms works well, as does the entertainment system. Since we came by car, we were also happy about the parking space. To sum it up: We are completely satisfied and can highly recommend this hotel. As mentioned above, we live in Palawan and we have stayed at many places to escape for the week-ends. Due to our experience, we dare to say that Carpe Diem is one of the best choices to stay.

We were not affected by this, but if you don't have a vehicle, you should be aware that the hotel complex is a bit "out of the way" (but not far from the airport). However, with a rental scooter or an arranged transportation, this is not a problem. And it has the advantage that the place is very quiet.

Amazing pool with a swim up bar and then we booked a room for a second night with a plunge pool which was lovely. Staff friendly.

The breakfast and breakfast staff were quite poor. Buffet food not replaced often so no cereal, just crumbs left. Not much of anything left. They did make nice eggs but only if you went to breakfast with no one there. I went at the same time as a Chinese group of 10 people and no one came to ask if I wanted anything or welcomed me at all. 1 staff one day, two staff the next so not enough people.
