Great location on a side street in the heart of Ocracoke off Route 12. The room was nice (wife said "cute"). We chose the room in the "loft" which worked well for us traveling lite and being able to handle the stairs. We spent most of our time exploring Ocracoke, so we did not take full advantage of the pool or game room.

The only thing that seemed a little over priced was the rental of on-site golf carts compared to the prices at other rental places.

Room was clean and organized, just like the images! Front staff was kind enough to wait 15 minutes after office hours since ferry was running 15 minutes late. I was able to communicate with them through the booking agency and also directly about my booking and they were always helpful and nice over messages/phone call.

Limited parking area but we did arrive late on Labor Day weekend so that is understandable. Also found 1 bug on the wall in the closet but the staff had left bug spray which we were so happy that it was there !!! (also the lodge is located in a wooded area so the bug being in the room was not a surprise).

Even though the building is a bit dated, you can see all the effort that has been made to freshen the rooms up. Our room was beautiful and clean with a very comfortable bed.

For as nice as the rooms were- I was disappointed with the pool. The pool deck needs to be sprayed for ants and the pool itself doesn’t look clean due to staining on the bottom.

Pretty close to everything, I like how they keep it in its vintage era of old school hotels … older yet nostalgic. It was seriously nothing special but it was clean, the beds were super comfortable, and our room amenities were exactly what we wanted- especially having 2 bathrooms and a covered balcony- which we needed dues to rain.

Golf cart charger situation - 2 outlets with multiple extension chords and probably 8 carts attached. Mine didn’t even charge - the breaker probably tripped.

Love the charm, location and the friendly staff.

Disliked the behavior of couple in the unit next door. Obviously, over served themselves and the man was NOT able to control his temper. The bickering and arguing went on pretty much all night, into the wee hours.

Location was great. Could walk from the ferry coming to Ocracoke from Swan Quarter if desired. Facilities were older but I loved the ambience. The facilities matched the hotels name. The staff was great.

Parking wasn't well marked. Kinda make your own space but no one seemed to mind.

The staff were very professional and very nice. They answered all our questions and were very helpful. Our room was comfortable and very clean. We would definitely stay with them again.

There was nothing about Blackbeard’s Lodge we didn’t like.

Location, the pool, and just the friendliness of the of the guests.

Parking--it is tight, especially with rooms closer to the intersection at the end of the road...hard to get parked with all the traffic (golf carts).

The courtesy of the clerk at check-in. Best Ever. Courteous-Friendly-Caring. She went out of her way to make us feel genuinely invited. She even introduced us to the "next door neighbors." TEN out of TEN !

Check out. We could have simply left our room key by the TV channel remote, but we chose to check out in person. Terrible experience. It was difficult to get the woman who said she was the manager of of her chair. Terrible experience and a sarcastic employee. You are losing alot of repeat business. Had to share this. Worst customer service ever experienced. But we will still come back since the owner family helped us with a hint as to where we could watch the Major League Baseball All Star Game when the hotel tv channel TBS did not work.

Small but lovely pool just outside our window one floor down. Being able to park under shady trees. Favorite dinner restaurant across street & best breakfast on island just around corner. Fresh brewed coffee or tea available near check-in & good ice machine close to that. Happy, kid-filled game room next to lobby, but lobby quiet for early am coffee & reading while wife slept in our still darkened room. Older facility needing some updating but lovely, charming, good value place. Recommended.

An elevator soon would help attract larger clientele.
