The room was clean and comfortable, with a king sized bed, sofa and table with 2 chairs. It includes a mini fridge, microwave, coffee maker, hairdryer, iron and ironing board. The price was $1600 less than another establishment close by.

We had to empty our own trash and set outside our door as needed. Same with the towels. If we needed extra towels, toilet paper or trash bags it was up to us to go to the office and retrieve them. We stayed 8 days and 7 nights and the room was never cleaned, vacuumed, bed made, dusted nor bathroom cleaned. Breakfast is not provided.

COMFY BED. Staff is very attentive and friendly. Convenient to grocery store, fun things to do, restaurants, ice cream and the beach. A.C. kept us cool during the toasty hot and humid weather. Use of charcoal grills on property. Lower price when I booked through Booking.com.

Hubby didn't like the fact that the pool closes at Dusk.... should stay open till 9 or 10. The bright sun peaking through the sides of my curtain at 7am when I like to start my day at 10am. Looking at that poor horse on the right side as you drive towards the end of Hatteras Island (near Midgett Road, I think) by himself standing in the sand with no grass to graze on. He does have shade and I see a man sitting with him some times.

Always fresh linens any hour of the day! The location is perfect for the beach, and right in the middle of town so anything you may need is a walk away ! Very peaceful stay, the crew does an excellent job of keeping the motel up to date & very relaxed !

No smart TV(no worries though, just would have been nice to hook my Netflix up lol) , or weekly service maintaining cleans- really should have came & vacuumed during a week stay (ended up asking to do it which was ok but no huge issue) 😕

Great location - easy walk to beach. Nice room. Plenty of parking. Close to a few good restaurants. Lovely pool. Very clean. Staff friendly.

This is not the fault of the hotel - but some of the folks at the pool were really rowdy - making it difficult to enjoy the pool in the evening. Not sure if it's always this way - or we were just unlucky. Also, there's absolutely no service once you check in. If you want to change your towels or need coffee or something - you need to get it yourself.

The location was great, the room was big and spacious, and very clean!! The pool was open and also very clean.

Wasn't very pleased when I walked in and said I had an early check-in thru booking. The lady was very rude about and said Booking doesn't run her motel, but did see if a room was ready and let me check in early! I just think if you don't want other options available thru booking maybe you shouldn't use it!! The pillows were HORRIBLE!! The also didn't have very much light and no outlets close to beds to charge phone

The room was clean and comfortable, and the pool was a little small but nice and was never crowded. There were shops and restaurants near the hotel.

The beach was a little rough, and the bank leading to the ocean was a bit steep. However, there were many places a short distance away where the beach was better and had parking for beach access. Also, the Hatteras lighthouse is under major construction and is not a pleasant sight right now. Of course, that is not the fault of Hatteras Island Inn.

This is not a new hotel but rooms are clean and spacious, staff was easy to work with and the location for our purposes was perfect. Being right in Buxton on Hwy 12, everything you need is nearby.

There is no breakfast or even coffee in the lobby but there are restaurants nearby. A few things in our room needed attention, the clock radio didn't work and while we were there the shampoo and body wash dispenser fell off the wall in out shower/bath but staff brought us new products to use right away. They post a number of upcharges for things like early check in, late checkout, etc. but none of this came into play for us.

Bed was super comfy....plenty of hot water for showering. Towels and wash cloths were thick and soft. All desk clerks were welcoming and helpful. I love the fact that the entire Hatteras Island takes care of their homeless cats, including spaying and neutering. Some of the pool view rooms have nice ocean views. The new owners are remodeling and replacing worn furniture. They are showing that they care enough. Love the fact that No Dogs were allowed.

You sank way down in the sofa. Maybe new owners will replace the sofa mattresses with thicker ones, along with newer microwaves and coffee makers, as they are remodeling .We put two pillows under the cushions and that solved the issue.
