This is not a new hotel but rooms are clean and spacious, staff was easy to work with and the location for our purposes was perfect. Being right in Buxton on Hwy 12, everything you need is nearby.

There is no breakfast or even coffee in the lobby but there are restaurants nearby. A few things in our room needed attention, the clock radio didn't work and while we were there the shampoo and body wash dispenser fell off the wall in out shower/bath but staff brought us new products to use right away. They post a number of upcharges for things like early check in, late checkout, etc. but none of this came into play for us.

Bed was super comfy....plenty of hot water for showering. Towels and wash cloths were thick and soft. All desk clerks were welcoming and helpful. I love the fact that the entire Hatteras Island takes care of their homeless cats, including spaying and neutering. Some of the pool view rooms have nice ocean views. The new owners are remodeling and replacing worn furniture. They are showing that they care enough. Love the fact that No Dogs were allowed.

You sank way down in the sofa. Maybe new owners will replace the sofa mattresses with thicker ones, along with newer microwaves and coffee makers, as they are remodeling .We put two pillows under the cushions and that solved the issue.

Room was exceptionally clean, nice and cool. Bed was firm and comfy. Walls cut out any possible noise. Nice pool and close to beach. Thick towels and washcloths. Staff was friendly and very accommodating. Loved the two well taken care of friendly cats, they got lots of attention from many visitors. Hatteras island takes care of their local cats in the trap, release and return program. I look forward to staying at those places that have these wonderful animals....I have never seen a mouse on the island in the forty years that I have been visiting.

Room 123 - The sleep sofa needs a new thicker mattress. It kind of sinks in when you sit on the cushions. We put two pillows under the cushions and that took care of the problem. New owners have taken over, so they are working on any upgrades.

Staff is super friendly and accommodating. They treat you like family. Bed was super comfy. Room was clean and didn't smell old and damp, which most older places do, due to moisture from the ocean. Love the fact that new owners are making upgrades to the property and replacing worn items like coffee makers, microwaves. They also have a luggage lift for the 2nd floor guests. Washer and dryer for guests use and a nice pool. Walking distance to restaurants and shopping. Not commercialized like other beaches. They have grills for guest use.

No elevator for my husband, as I wanted to be on the second floor to get an ocean view. I would like to see lower prices for all off season months, because I would like to make this hotel my "go to place", as we like to come to Hatteras five or more times per year 4 to 7 nights per stay. Most rentals want you to book for a week and the prices are way too high since 2020. Cleaning fees on all home and condo rentals are ridiculous.

If you're looking for a clean and comfortable enough place to lay your head at night while you relax and take in the sights around the islands, this is the place for you. They were kind enough to me, and when I am back down that way I will look into staying there first. They were kind, they were humble. There were no bugs, no unreasonable rules, and the location is about the best you will find for the price. No reason to dislike this place.

Friendly staff, location, nice pool, we only spent a little time in it but it was so nice. All staff was laid back. They had beach towels in the lobby if you needed them!!! My dad said the bed was so nice If he didn’t have to go to the bathroom he could have slept all night, that is unusual for him too!! Pillows were great and soft!!

The back entry and exit is too narrow with the medians in the middle.

Centrally located. Not too far from the beach. Great access to fresh towels each day.

Price is steep. No off season discounts even when I tried booking again in Sept. or October. At least at Hilton, I can get a nice breakfast. Bathtub is a death trap for slipping. I will bring a tub mat if I visit again. Other places close by are half the price in September and rate as good or better.

I didn’t know there was a breakfast there! I didn’t see it or any information on that. But we loved the convenience of being close to the beach and stores and restaurants in walking distance. Clean, quiet and comfortable-especially the king size bed! The only thing that I feel could be improved upon would be the water pressure in the shower. Other than that it was perfect and a great rate! Hope to stay again!
