Loved that the motel was actually sitting ON the beach! Sitting on the deck was like being on the water. The beach was practically empty, so the seclusion was wonderful. We had all the amenities (mini fridge, toaster, microwave, and coffee maker) we needed except ice. Bed was comfortable.
No elevator, so loading and unloading was a chore. Room was comfortable but could have used a little love to replace broken blinds and a deep clean. No ice machine either. No maid service, so had to go across the street to the office for extra linens.

I liked that the beach was right in front of you Could here the waves crashing in all night Helps with your sleeping
The TV wasn’t the best We couldn’t log into the Wi-fi to pull up our accounts from You Tube TV It was playoff and bowl season for college football Towels and wash cloths wasn’t available unless you called and ask for them Only one towel and wash cloth per person to start out you stay It is a older motel though No elevator for access to your floors So if you have leg or knee problems it may be a tough go for you

Our room was right ON THE OCEAN. We sat is rocking chairs on the deck and enjoyed eating breakfast, evening snacks while watching the ocean. It could not have been any closer to the waves than if we had been riding on a cruise ship. The WiFi was excellent and we watched movies every night on our laptop. Harry, the caretaker is a very hard worker and makes sure every guest is well taken care of.
It's a beach location, so don't expect all the amenities you might get at a fancy resort. But that's it's charm. TV was cable but only received the local OTA stations. Nothing else.

The couple running the place were so accommodating. They were genuinely caring and so helpful and nice. They were there for our every need. I can't say enough about the customer service we received. The hotel had ample room for our family of 5. It's hard to find nice hotels that fit larger families. The hotel location is perfect. It has a nice pool and hot tub as well as direct access to a private beach with breathtaking views.
The beach access is a bit difficult. You have to walk up a hill of burning hot sand and then down to get to the beach. It was especially difficult for our 4 year old who screamed because of her feet burning. It was worse because you have to do all of this while carrying all your beach gear. I think installing a nice walkway would really eliminate those issues.

The management here is fantastic! Jamie went out of her way to make sure that we were comfortable. She went over and above to scramble and find us a room when I reserved for the wrong day. The view was EXCEPTIONAL!! We were literally on the beach, with the water going under our porch. The facilities were not new, but were scrupulously clean. There are not enough stars to show how happy we were with this experience.

I must say the staff was excellent. If there was a need or if you had a minor concern, they addressed it quickly. They immediately assessed the issue/concern and worked on rectifying it. They were courteous and helpful. The room was clean (the last few years I’ve had to clean after the cleaning crew at different house locations), I didn’t have to do that here. Another worthy notice is there were No roaches, No bedbugs in the room and yes, I was looking (due to the last few years at other locations, so I know what to look for). No issues with the WiFi here. I had family renting housing on the island and they all had issues. Location is great. Everything you would need can be found within a mile from the location (food, clothing, miscellaneous items, etc.). Pool/Sound side is just a short walk to the beach (some of the houses have a longer walk). The beach wasn’t crowded and there’s access to the sound, you can even drive north to different parking areas for sound access with your water toys, kayaks, kite surfing etc. The AC worked the entire time, so no complaints on that. This survey asks for photos at the end, but I didn’t take any photos of the room because I didn’t have any real concerns with it.
I know is the beach, it’s an island and there’s water and moisture everywhere, but the couches and chairs always felt damp. They seemed older and worn down. Some of the electrical outlets are loose, but are being addressed when discovered. The furniture is a minor issue, and the electrical outlet is a common issue with older buildings.

We loved EVERYTHING!!! The location we had was across the street and for those complaining about the dunes… take the left side of the parking lot to the beach. Yep it’s kinda hot but those dunes keep our spot safer so wear shoes and and make the climb. We met so many nice folks just talk to people!! They are half the charm! The owners…. They are THE BEST!!! They were CONSTANTLY checking on us…. Do we need anything, are you ok…. And more. We cooked out every night…. And the last night did a seafood boil which we had shared with them! They became family. He didn’t even want to take our keys saying we couldn’t leave. If you want some over fancy experience then leave them alone.. but if you want an experience where you are treated as family then BOOK HERE!! We miss them already… thank y’all so much and can’t wait to return!!!!
The double mattress needs replacing BUT they are replacing and remodeling so BOOK HERE!

Beachfront rooms have a beautiful view of the ocean as well as morning sunrises.
Wooden stairs leading to 2nd and 3rd floors did not seem stable at some points. There are water spickets at each floor level on the platform of the stairs but the water just drains down to the next level, if you happen to be walking up stairs while someone is washing off sand from their feet, you will get wet! Sand dunes were difficult to climb over to get to and from the beach. Pool is across the street if staying at oceanfront rooms. Road is busy at times, need extreme caution especially if crossing with children .

Lovely spot. Easy to get to. Nice mini apartment . 2 bedrooms, kitchen with regular size appliances n toaster, microwave, coffee pot n bar to sit at. Living room area and bathroom. Clean rooms. Nice variety of cooking ware/utensils and dishes. Friendly staff. Nice pool n hot tub ( Unfortunately some guest forget to rinse off the sand b4 they get in). Beach access. Courteous staff. Good spot for Famlies. Beautiful scenery. We faced the town n the sound. From the veranda you Could sit in the rockers and see the lighthouse lit at night n the sunsets on the sound was breathtaking .
This is a older hotel so it needed a little TLC. Which is to be expected with older properties. Maybe add some solar lights to light up the stairs some more. There where a few spot that where not as well lit. Also if you are elderly or have mobility issues you may want to request a room on the ground floor and consider going to one of the many different beaches with better access. You have to climb up a small sand dune to access beach front at hotel. I did not like that they charged my credit card months in advance to my stay but on the flip side a huge chunk (hotel) of my vacation was paid off before it occurred. And they have a no refund policy but u can reschedule if needed within a allotted time frame.

The location is on the south end of the Outer Banks and is less busy than the north end. My room was in the building overlooking the beach/ocean. It was just a short walk to the beach. You could hear the crashing of the waves as you drifted off to sleep. The staff was very responsive to requests for help or linens. The room was spacious with 2 queen beds, a microwave and fridge. Plenty places to eat and miles of beach to explore. I had a very good time and would highly recommend as a place to stay as a single or family. I was with family but had my own room. LOVED IT.
The room needs an air fryer so you can bring home the yummy leftovers and heat without gettin soggy in a microwave. Other than that I don't have any complaints.
